  1. Technically Nolvus uses a downgrader. So it downgrades Skyrim to SE. So updates don't matter. But that also means you can't update the actual mods in the pack since most are outdated and the ones that aren't have been updated multiple times over the last 4 years or are obsolete and author created a newer version. And the mod number doesn't matter, it's all texture packs to change one thing. Like a texture pack to change the old gildergleam, one to change to young version and a last one the change the fully regrown one for example. That would take up 3 mod slots. But then you do that for everything in the game and you have 1500 texture mods. Me? I install a 2k texture pack and install skylands and other large texture compilations over it like a regular person. Instead of nitpicking one texture each from 100 different mods to get Whiterun to look nice. The whole purpose of the mod list is to make the game look as advertised. It's tedious to force it's usage (otherwise you'd just download the mods from the list normally). You can again easily get your Skyrim looking better, quicker using modern modding practices. Unique Towns - Base Object Swapper This mod is an example of what you can do now without needing to deal with 10+ compatibility patches. The Nolvus team can use base object swapper to install everything Nolvus is offering instantly without flooding you with endless esl and unused textures. But since they aren't using modern tools, we have this 2k mod pack that does what you can do with 50 now. This is problem with the concept of mod packs though. They are for people who don't know how to mod. But to use them, you are going to want to know how to mod, for troubleshooting. So you end up knowing enough about modding that the pack is redundant. But the people making them at times have that same limited modding ability. So they end up making a pack that too complex to be practical, which defeats the purpose since newbies cant use that.
  2. The majority of the mods are for making the game pretty. Then there are the standard dependencies and the usual gameplay stuff. It's not for the latest AE version though, so most of the package is outdated. Skyrim modding advances faster than hyperthermia. So Nolvus is currently Skyrim 2020 pretty much. You can look at 'Ultima', I believe it's called, that's more up to date. Like Skyrim 2022. But yeah, mod packs are kinda iffy since you might as well not even be using them if you're going to be micro managing everything anyway. Several mods in the pack are updated to fix problems that wont be fixed in the dated pack versions. Current mods use base object swapper and SPID to make changes to the game seamlessly without endless esp/l wrangling and cloak scripts. So a lot of what these older packs are achieving with those 2k mod lists is doable with half that number or less. My mod list is only 1,144 and I long since surpassed Nolvus, I used it as a base mod list example but use updated AE.
  3. Honestly, and this isn't me forcing words into your mouth, it sounds like you don't like the game but want mods to fix it. I'm not saying "you hate the game" like people in this thread seem to like shouting. I simply mean, in it's current state the game pulls you out of your immersion. Most of the RP YTers I watch ended their Starfield RPs for the same reason. Rycon was probably the biggest one for me since he usually just looks for a solution and keeps trucking. His solution this time was to end the series till Bethesda fixed the game. These kinds of games are fun because they suck you into the world. If all of your problems with the game are immersion break, then that is compromised. I'm in the camp that the devs need to fix the game. Then modders can work off of the finished product. Everything people are throwing around is the idea that modders will fix the game! That's ridiculous. I've seen it happen before with Mount and Blade 2. But that was also in beta and people were impatient. It had a solid base and people just put everything they wanted from the previous titles into it that they could. I've ran through the Starfield mods. Most of the modding attempts are to make the game closer to FO4. lots of adding stuff that Bethesda, not modding put in FO4. Almost like "Bethesda QOL" systems. Which is why the M&B2 comparison sticks with me. The difference is that everyone knew that M&B2 would get the features. Can't say the same for Starfield, Bethesda can easily go in a different direction. Also Starfield having 7k mods on Nexus isn't impressive. The majority of that number is taken up by translations (Needed for Bethesda mods). Skyrim and FO4 also have the same problem where the mod count is being inflated quickly by translations. Compare them to Cyberpunk 2077 which doesn't have translations taking up any of there mod count. That being said, I consider Starfield's mods better than Cyberpunk's since it's not all clothes, cars and skin. But my point still stands. The majority of the modders for Bethesda games have left Starfield. If they are part of the paid mods program, we have no way of knowing it till that drops. But if they do come back and are pay walled, then that isn't going to help the game. "Starfield is broken, but you can fix it by buying $50s worth of mods!" isn't the look that the game needs to maintain a strong modding scene. We lost tons of people to paid mods with Skyrim and that wasn't even that bad. I want Starfield to be fixed up to AAA status, get a strong mod scene that lasts 15 years and has people chopping at the bits for Starfield 2. But we aren't on the trajectory for that outcome on either front with Bethesda putting their feet up and modders feeling like they should fix the game.
  4. What problems are they? The game being bad? People aren't interest in the characters or stories. No lore videos or character analysis. Game interest is at 0. Gameplay is decent, but not a single person doesn't attest that you can play FO4 for the same gameplay loop with less problems. Mass Effect Andromeda had massive planetary exploration. Next game would obviously top that. And if people only wanted to build ships, then Starfield wouldn't be in the conversation. Ship building in Starfield is weaker than the Gummy ship building in KH2. You can obviously mod in better ship building. But again, people have to care. Starfield is still $50 on sale, until that goes down to $10 new people aren't going to give the game a chance. When modding does drop, they already have paid mods since they already gave the licenses out to the paid modders. There is no wait period like with Skyrim. So even if someone "fixed" the game, it would be paid. And we'd be waiting for a free equivalent. A lot of our best modders hate paid modding and left even Skyrim because of it. They aren't liable to hop into "day 1 paid mod support" Starfield. Also lets not forget that updates break modding. And Starfield's community isn't as strong as Skyrim's. It wont last multiple updates breaking everything. People will move on. Also... what Alien girlfriend?
  5. A lot of what people want fixed by mods. Isn't possible. I have no doubts that people will try. A lot of the impossible was done with Skyrim because people actually like the game, but Starfield? If this wasn't a Bethesda game, we wouldn't even be talking about it. It would be another AAA flop like Forsaken that people just meme then forget. Lets be honest. Nobody would even be talking about Starfield if we got a new Mass Effect within 2 years of it's release. People just need that space itch scratched.
  6. Seems as though people are getting quite bold these days. Nexus allows creators to direct to other websites for dependencies now, so there is no reason for any LL mods to be dual uploaded anyway. There was a time that LL was off limits for that. Now is not that time...
  7. As someone who used LE for way longer than he probably should have (I took a break for 2 years and got AE a month ago). AE is just better. If you're already a competent modder, you can get a stable game easily. And with the current Skyrim mods like SPID, BOS, Skypatcher and KID, you basically get to add infinite mods till your game barely runs. My game takes forever to load up and save with all the shit I have packed into it. And I just add more every day. Need 41 more mods to hit that 1k. I was tired of spending days merging mods and making compatibility patches for LE, fighting that load order limit constantly. Never having to do that again is a godsend. Full ESL compatibility is a godsend! Also as someone who as played since 11x3, I can say confidently that every mod is ported for SE or has a better replacement. I spent weeks thinking that AE didn't have what I was looking for till I simply did the research and found out that several of my old mods had better upgrades. I had to get with the program and stop being narrowminded. I had to become a "futurist" and simply except that somethings are obsolete. Though not for everything. I'm definitely using Sexlab over that ostim/osex thing, It looks great for making love but we loverslab, we don't even know what love is! But I am using Pandora over nemesis, I recommend it. Also don't worry about updates. Simply turn off auto updates, and over the week of an update, download the updated dlls for all of you mods. Then simply update when you are ready. The community has everything fixed after an update withing 10 days or so. The only time I ever consider going back to LE is when I have to make a dummy esp to run my save. And that only takes a minute. Years of modding have made me lazy.
  8. For Skyrim AE Schlongs of Skyrim AE no dll version CBBE 3BA (3BBB) H.I.M.B.O Sexlab SE 166b Everything works out of the box with the latest version of AE. Just download and install them with any mod manager. Just make sure you install all of the dependencies. I haven't touched FO4 in a while but I figure Miss Beth updates it way more than Skyrim. So just turn off auto updates in Steam. And it's not like people care about Starfield enough to mod that thing, it's modding scene will be dead in a year at this rate unless Miss Beth really spreads her legs. Nobody wants to mod a game they don't actually want to play.
  9. It's been like a decade... but I had Darkstalkers, Cowboy Bebop and Steamboy.
  10. That's normal. Skyrim only updates the speed mult after an equipment chance or sprinting/crouching.
  11. Same problem. They undress but put their clothes back on right after. Doesn't happen for PC though. NPC get naked when I load into cells for the first time as well. Once they go through all of that they work fine though because the schlong is on them and everything. So they undress properly and don't randomly strip.
  12. Forget about the xml. Just package the scripts, interface, meshes and textures together with the esp and run it. Doesn't need a fomod, no options.
  13. Wow! When I saw this was updated I thought it was a trick from my enemies to lore me into a false sense of security! Welcome back Goubo!
  14. Discerning Transmutation. I recently cleaned up my Skyrim folder and reinstalled all of my mods so I haven't seen if it fixed my problem. Before though when ever I picked up the book the quest wouldn't update and Ol' Hermie wouldn't show up. Bethesda made it harder to fix the problem when they change how they handled scripts for no good reason...
