Looking for a bit of guidance. I had a working LE mod list years ago and the last time I tried a fresh mod list it was on SE shortly after 1.6.1170 hit so there were all sorts of compatibility issues. I'm trying to get a really good understanding of stuff before I just blindly install to try to get the most error free install/list that I can get.

I'm looking at installing this mod, DDNG, and some other Devious mods like Cursed Loot, possibly Enchanted Chests, etc. I'm following the compatibility tracking list thread to determine what to pick and choose. I am wanting to use Pandora as my animation mod, which leads to a lot of my current questions. I'm not sure if it's better to ask here or in the DDNG thread. I'm starting here, but if it's recommended to move to the DDNG thread, I can do that.

SexLab SE 1.66 lists FNIS and XPMSSE as requirements. DD SE 5.2 also lists both of those as requirements. My understanding is that Pandora will have backwards compatibility with FNIS. DDNG lists Pandora as compatible and does not list XPMSSE as a requirement but does list Open Animation Replacer (OAR).

XPMSSE has the following listed for its extended installation:

Pandora users:
Pandora does not implement Alternative Animations, so XPMSE WILL NOT BE ABLE to change animations on the fly regardless of using Nemesis Patches or not.
Alternatives, you can try if you use Pandora:

With the XPMSE MCM: OAR and Weapon Styles
As replacement of XPMSE MCM: OAR and Immersive Equipment Displays and Weapon Styles for IED instead.

I also found a post recommending XP32 Lite as a replacement for XPMSSE (or possibly others).

Am I correct in thinking that OAR will replace the skeleton scripting that's in XPMSSE? I'm trying to figure out what, if any, skeleton mod needs to be installed if I am going to use Pandora in combination with OAR. Still XMPSSE? XP32 Lite? Or none at all? Thanks for any responses.

You will need Sexlab 1.66b, DD 5.2 SE/AE/VR (this mod) + DD NG (needed for compatibility with AE/1.6.1170), XPMSSE (the SE version of XP32, which is LE), FNIS or Pandora (pandora is fine as a drop in replacement for FNIS for the most part), and OAR (used by DD NG to replace some FNIS animations with OAR equivalents). DD NG requires both pandora and OAR, OAR is not optional. The XPMSSE skeleton is required, because everything animation related (90% anyways) is based off of that skeleton.

OAR will not replace the XPMSSE scripts; it is an animation replacer only. XPMSSE will still need to provide some scripts (mostly for racemenu integration).

The alternate animations are different weapon fighting styles, you can skip all that and the xp32 mcm in XPMSSE's installer. I have never used the alternate animations.

If you want different animations, yes there are plenty of weapon/fighting styles out there that use OAR.

I see, thanks for your response! One final question if you don't mind -- for the XPMSEE install, which install option should I be using? Minimal, Basic, or Extended? I assume Extended is the way to go?

I'm playing Skyrim SE and I have devious devices and all prerequisites installed. I have verified that all the plugins and such are installed and enabled. I can use the mod that adds a furniture vendor to buy the contraptions and place them. Those contraptions work without fail so they aren't my issue. My issue is that for whatever reason I can't use anything that is summoned via the furniture spells. I can find the spell and summon the furniture without problem but the second I interact with it, my game is so broken that I am forced to reload the save. If I hit "E" to interact with furniture, my camera becomes locked in place and cannot move. My character controls are locked and do not respond to input. I am able to open my inventory, command console, or pause menu without issue but there is nothing I have found to fix the broken controls and camera other than reloading the save. If I place a piece of furniture that was purchased from a vendor NPC there's no issue. This only happens with the summon spells. I have a mod to search for items to add to inventory and I thought I could use it for that. Problem is that when I set it up to find items other than armor, weapons, etc, I can't even scroll partway down the list before the game immediately crashes. Do the summon spells just not work or is there somehow a required mod that was never listed on the download page? I'm sorry if I sound pissed but this happens every time I attempt without fail and having to constantly reload saves because of broken controls and camera is getting really old. I can confirm that using console commands such as "enableplayercontrols" or "tlc" to toggle collison do NOT fix the issue.

Extended, racemenu support if you want to be able to adjust options through racemenu, and don't do the mcm or weapon styles. if you don't care about racemenu integration, then basic is probably better.

Is there a support mod where you can offer sex to get unlocked?

Not as an only way to pay. Sex as a consequence is part of several mods.

This mod doesn't provide summon spells for furniture. I've no idea what mod added them, but you might look at the other mods you've added.

The only way to get furniture as a user with this mod is to console them in.

Ok...I'm not sure what other mods I have that might have added those but I can check. How am I supposed to spawn them using the console? I can see several entries when I do a "help furniture 4" search but they only show up in a "keyword" category and I don't know if that makes any difference or not because I can't seem to actually get them either with "player.additem" or "player.placeatme". Could the object ID numbers I'm seeing be the Ref ID instead of the Base ID? I'm using the number that comes up when looking in the console but I don't know if maybe I'm seeing the wrong one? I'm checking the list of furniture shown in the console right now and I'm trying to see if it's giving me the wrong ID number or if I'm just completely fucking things up on my end. If I run the following command for example "player.placeatme 0904AF1A" I see something that looks like a guillotine spawned in front of me? I tried that same ID number when running the command "player.additem 0904AF1A" and I got an error saying "Invalid inventory object '0904AF1A' for parameter ObjectID". Is there a different ID number for spawning it in my inventory instead of in front of me? Or am I just being really stupid and trying to do something impossible? I haven't tested the one that spawned in front of me yet in case it breaks my game and I have to reload the save.

UPDATE:

Ok something is definitely not working and I don't know if it's me or the mod at this point. I have a mod that adds a vendor that sells contraptions from this mod and those devices work without any issues. I have tried using the spells that were somehow added from another mod and I have tried spawning contraptions from the console directly via the "player.placeatme" command. They do not work whatsoever. Any attempt to interact with them results in the camera and controls being broken and locked up that I am forced to reload the save because there isn't anything I've found to make them work again without reloading. I really don't know what is the issue at this point. I have everything listed as a requirement on the mod page and I have found no file conflicts. I have run the behavior engine to see if animations need to be updated/reloaded and it doesn't change anything. At this point I can't find anything that points to what the issue is other than that furniture spawned by spells or the console just break my controls. I really don't know what else to try now since nothing I have done has helped. I have probably eight or nine hours game time from today and maybe twenty to thirty minutes of it was actually playing the game. I spent the other 7.5-8.5 hours trying to find out why some furniture works while anything spawned by console or whatever breaks it instead.

ok.. white space please. i'm old and half blind and all that word hemorrhaging all blurs together.

If you're looking up the items in the console, the id listed in the console by 'help' is what you need to use to add it.

spells would be a SPEL/spell type, not KYWD/Keyword.

you could search by part of the spell name like so: help "spell" 4 SPEL (if you have help extender or something similar.)

example with the instincts spell from campfire:

The first two digits of the id are the mod index id. once you have that, you can look up what mod is at what index. it's in the plugin section for mo2, i assume it's in the same area for vortex, but i don't use vortex.

For adding the furniture from the console, you would use something like this (adds the xcross): 'player.additem xx00539a 1'. This adds the kit to your inventory and then you just drop the kit wherever you want.

Notice here, that the id where I added the kit to my inventory is different from the xcross itself, that i've highlighted in the background.

The guillotene you're trying to work with is from ZAZ, not DD. Can't help you much with it, but it doesn't use DD's mechanics. It puts you in first person when you activate it, and you use free cam to look around. You cannot use third person while in it. It also was not placed levelly for me, so everything was horribly misaligned.

To leave it, you have to exit free cam back to first person, then hold E for a few seconds. This starts an animation of you leaving the furniture, and the cam was inside my head for most of it, but it did work. But if you need more help with that device, you'd need to ask on the zaz thread.

If you are using ZAZ 9, that might be your problem. 90% of the mods on LL need ZAZ 7 or 8 at minimum, and neither of those add spells or all the extra crap 9 has.

Beyond what I've already said here, if you need to debug it further, start a new game with just DD and its requirements (or DD NG if you're on AE / 1.6.1170) and do your testing this way. Add your DD mods back slowly until you find which mod is causing the problem or adding the spells.

Sorry about the bunched up essay. Everything I learned in my high school/college English courses tends to gets tossed out the window when I'm running out of patience.

I was looking into what was going on and I started to suspect that it wasn't devious devices when I noticed that the devices I was trying to use didn't add up when compared to what was added by the mod. I had thought that the zaz stuff I had installed was just a bunch of animations and didn't add any in game objects. I saw your post that said the thing I was having problems with was Zaz and not DD, and I ended up having one of those "Fuck, I'm a dumbass" moments.

I'll start looking into the problem I'm having but try to find out why it is Zaz and not DD. Sorry for the really stupid question on this. I'm still trying to wrap my head around installing mods to a game where it feels like every mod has dozens of other mod requirements either directly or to make the other required mods work. I appreciate the help figuring out what the problem was since it's pretty clear it was a dumbass user to begin with.

Deviously Cursed Loot (DCL) has a dialogue option for the player character to offer sex to an NPC in exchange for a device key. The dialogue option is part of DCL's Solicitation feature.

Devious Followers Continued lets you recruit a follower who behaves as a "Devious Follower" and can unlock devices in exchange for gold debt. The debt can be partially paid through agreeing to "deals" with the Devious Follower and some of the deals involve sex.

Get the right download. There's no rar file, it's a 7zip file (.7z). Maybe try checking where you're downloading from in the first place. And don't download outdated files from the threads.

Download link is here, it takes you to mega.

Save/reload usually makes it better.

I'd recommend installing DDNG and this for a seemingly definitive fix:

I'm not seeing it when looking through the esp. i might be mixing up what i saw in bodyslide - part of it is called legbinder. But it may not exist on its own and only as part of the full body harness.

Is it possible to create the rope legbinder using the rope harness full model? If it is I might give it a shot, the main quarrel I have with the full rope harness is that it acts like a dress and hides all the piercings and plugs and stuff, plus it doesn’t let me choose the upper body rope type

You can turn off the Device Hider in the Devious Devices MCM.
