I'm having a really hard time downloading the file. managed to get NG just fine, but neither the mega or the google drive seem to want to open

Try a VPN. The links work, so it's on your end. It's a large file, almost 2gb.

I get the download pop-up, the bar fill all the way and then won't open.

Have you tried waiting more than a few seconds? Say give it 5/10 minutes?
Or making sure you don't have pop up blockers or other browser extensions blocking it?

 

A VPN, if you select a different country than your own (i have no idea where you're at, I don't have these problems), will get around any restrictions your country/internet provider might have in place to prevent downloading some content types.

I don't suppose anyone who has any clue why the NPC gags don't work properly. Basically when I talk with them their mouth will move.  Also the sex scenes break it for my player character as well.

Whenever I unequip everything it does not go naked and puts my character in latex underwear. Any way to fix this?

Uhm, yes - uninstall the mod that puts your girl in latex underwear (nad rerun BodySlide). And be sure to tell us which, because I'd love to see mal gal in latex everytime.

I've gone through and tried disabling each mod recently installed and I've found It's devious devices, either that or DD NG. Is it meant to do that?

Is not. I've been using them for years and never saw a single piece of latex underwear.

Unfortunately disabling a mod doesn't delete their BS output files (at least not in Vortex) so you might not find the culprit this way. Open BodySlide, build a 'normal' female body (use the preview window to make sure to build the right thing) and try again. Remember this when you're just batch building everything.

It reads to me like there's a mod that replaces the texture of the (normal) "naked" body's "underwear" with "latex" (i.e., something "shiny black").

 

Even if you deactivate this texture mod, the "naked" body created in Bodyslide will initially still be wearing underwear with this black texture.

Where do I find the different devices? The only ones I can find/build are the collars, shackles, and ankle cuffs.

By adding mods that put them into the world. Like Laura's Bondage shop if you want to buy them, or Devious Curses for random devices getting equipped by traps.

I do have them already based on Alternate Start and a few console commands. The book on chasity belts hits at returning where you find it to learn more, but again, that was gained through commands. I will look into the shop, but just wanted to know where the book is normally located.

Without further mods the book is found in the Arcaneum, in the Forbidden Bookshelf.

There has been a quest to this in earlier versions of DD, and two new variants of that quest have been published since. (but I'm too lazy to go searching)

If using DDNG: check your OAR config

If not using DDNG: make sure you have ran FNIS correctly and that DD is properly installed in the first place

 

In both cases: make sure you are not equipping the armbinder from DD Assets

I get a pop up warning saying that the DLL is out of date when i boot up the game.

This won't run on AE, you need DD NG on top.

quick issue: i've been using MfgFix for the gags and it worked for the longest time, now just the other day facial animations just stopped working for them.
any insight on how to fix this issue?

I've set up some contraptions and noticed that when I select an NPC with the PgUp key, they strip naked, which is fine, but when locked into a contraption (tried with X-Cross, Pillory and Chair) they re-equip their clothes.  At first I thought it was NFF's outfit swapper over-riding it but I tried it on an NPC not controlled by NFF and the same thing happened.  

I've had a look through the menus but can't see a "strip" setting, nor has Google thrown up any suggestions.  Is there a way to keep NPCs stripped while locked into contraptions?

how are you supposed to build the meshes for males?

I have HIMBO

 

DD works fine with my female meshes - I use Obody + 3BA and set to Zeroed Sliders in bodyslide

 

Would really appreciate if someone could just tell me what I need to set in the BS menu for the male BS files of DD to be built. Thanks in advance! 🙏🏻

 

Edit: so rereading the thread, it was shared that no BS need to be built for males and HIMBO will clip anyway. alright.

I'm just wondering why the chastity belts dont show for males: is it normal? is there a male equivalent to chastity belts?

you could try Vivi's Cockcages - but I've never played a male PC, so I have no idea if they actually work.
