Thanks for the hard work! 
Is it safe to update mid-game when coming from either a beta version or 5.1?

If you don't mind me asking, if DCL is going to be worked on to support the new additions to DD - anyone knows of a place to leave gameplay suggestions? I had posted one in DCL SE a while back but it's been a long time and I ain't sure if that's is the correct place.

Contemplating more and more moving back to it since I still can't get the chains to work properly after such a long time lol ?

Disable half of your load order, or just the mods that are having problems initializing. Wait for everything to finish loading, then save and exit. Add in another chunk of your load order, or the rest of it, or the problem mods you had disabled. They should initialize correctly since everything isn't starting at once.

Well... it actually worked.

 

I guess it's also safe to re-activate what I disabled (mostly clothes and some NPC mods that don't require a new save).

 

And... just guessing but, I'm using AE and maybe this is due to having all the Creation Club stuff.

No, it's not due to AE or CC mods. It's simply something that can happen on any large list with script heavy mods. It happens to me from time to time even on a downgraded list.

 

Yes, you can reactivate the other mods too.

Yes, it should be safe to upgrade, but if you run into problems you might still need a new game.

 

DCL should be next from what I understand. I believe kimy mentioned taking notes at one point.

After hours of investigations, I found out that Equip Enchantment Fix (SKSE Plugins) breaks most of the devices from DD (they auto re-equip after successful removal, even duping if tossed out of inventory)
Disabling the plugin fixed the issue

 

It might be another conflict with another mod. I use that mod and don't have problems with devices locking or unlocking. And I literally went through damn near every device checking them for the port.

 

Now no enchantment restriction can cause the problem you stated. that is in the known issues on the troubleshooting post.

You need to be more specific, what items and why are you expecting them to be hidden? unless it's something the device hider hides under a body item, everything should show up on the player.  Also, device hider only works for the player iirc.

I guess what randy1990 refers to is that prior to the update pretty much everything on any "slot" was hidden by devious devices. For example annoying for me was that a certain piece of fishnet clothing (slot 56) was hidden when wearing body armor (slot 32). Although right now my MCs Navel Piercing (which in that case happens to be in slot 49) is visible all the time, I don't mind the latter...because it's a cool looking percing ^^

So I strongly guess randy1990 might want to have certain things to be invisible as long as their "covered" (like a navel/nipple piercing) when that actual body part isn't visible.

And since I don't know nothing about modding, I won't be complaining ;)

 

 

edit: uh...I totally didn't read the npc part from randy1990, I'm sorry

I just tested in on my setup and having equip enchantment fix also breaks it for me. What I did in my testing was put on a "red armbinder" chose "manipulate locks" then went into the inventory menu and selected "unlock"  it unequips for a second then requips again. Disable the mod fixes it.

 

EDIT: I will share however using DD Escape Overhaul escape hotkey works with equip enchantment fix.

For the player, try DD 5.2. The device hider is not supposed to hide modular armors like bikini armors anymore, only DDs. If it's still too much of a problem, disable device hider and nothing will be hidden.

 

Default is to hide things in slots DD uses that would be under the armor. 56 is chastity bras in DD, so that's why the fishnet clothing was hidden. This was only fixed in the last beta and the full 5.2 release. 49 is chastity belts. I'd expect that to be hidden unless you updated or disabled the device hider.

Dunno what to say then. It's in the Masterstroke wabbajack list, which also has DD 5.2 beta 7 currently. I play this list along with many others and devices are most certainly not broken with that mod, or i'd have been hearing the screams for over a year now. And since i just fixed an issue where the red ebonite armbinder was looking black in game with 5.2, i can say for certain that device is not broken for me even with equip enchantment fix enabled, nor is the red leather armbinder i used to compare to trying to figure out why the color was busted. I put them on and off again with manipulated locks multiple times.

Unless something was introduced in the last version (we're one version back), then it's an interaction with something else in your lists causing the problem.

I never said the framework is broken I just meant something is breaking the functionality, I am just relaying information here, if it's compatible for you and not for me its probably you have a mod that makes it work that I don't or that I have another mod other than Equip Enchantment Fix that is affecting them; however that will take some time on my end to test. I have used Equip Enchantment Fix for awhile using it with Devious Devices with success using DD Escape overhaul and wasn't aware of this bug until @SoulsD brought it to my attention, then I tested it with removing DD's through the menu and I confirmed what they had said.

 

If someone else wants to comfirm this possible bug read my post and go through the steps here

I think it's a shame that this only works with DD. Is there a way to get this back for other devices???

Personally, I've dropped SLIF and just let racemenu handle all inflation, and don't use DD's inflation for breasts/belly. I've got so many things inflating the belly and breasts that I don't miss DD's, which was never very much anyway.

The script is conflicting with the script (zadLibs.psc) from OSL Aroused, you would have to load it after that, but it removes some code from it, so it may break stuff.

 

But this is not related to SLIF only, I wonder if it ok with DD5.2 also since the conflict is still there. Is it ok to overwrite OSL Aroused?

I just got DD 5.2 beta 10 rc1 a few days ago... Does this 5.2 actual release supersede rc1, or is it still the same package?

Yes, the final version has some bug fixes for the RC1 release. I'd recommend using the official 5.2 release unless you're really on some heavily metered connection. ;)

Right now, it doesn't hide those two things (fishnet clothing in 56 and navel piercing in 49, both items from different mods). It's not 100% perfect, but I'm cool with it.

I don't know how to disable the hider at all (I guess just putting everything to "none (disabled)" or at the top entry "item hider" to none (disabled)). I once tried to fiddle around with those MCM settings in "devices underneath" prior to DD 5.2 but as that warning stated "Don't touch this unless you know what you're doing" (which funnily felt perfect for me :D) I reloaded a previous savegame without me touching the MCM...

As far as I understood it back then (DD 5.1): an equipped 'body armor' (32) will hide 4 things: nipple piercings (51), chastity bras (56), harnesses/corsets (58), chastity belts (49). It actually was hiding anything from any mod that was used in one of those slots. This was now changed, so that only DD stuff is considered for hiding.

What I never understood: those #0-#3 numbers/entries:

body armor + nipple piercings + chastity bra: back then meant: only body armor visable

no body armor + nipple piercings + chastity bra: only the chastity bra was visable

which kinda feels right, but I didn't (and still don't) understand why that was happening: in the "devices underneath" section at slot 56 there are no entries for hiding nipple pericings when wearing a chastity bra Oo

 

Well, to cut it short: I never really understood how those "devices underneath" sections could be used properly. Whatever I did was worse than what the default settings gave me.

It's pretty much as you said, except for the navel piercing (Slot 49). Since this item is not DD related, it might be left out from hiding.

So how do my two pages at devices underneath look like: Page 1: Item Hider -> Device Hider +Long Hair 41; Use QueueNINode unticked, everything else disabled except for 32 - 51-56-58-49. Page 2 everything disabled.

Feels pretty default to me.

 

Now that my modding knowledge is pretty limited: If I really wanted to hide that navel percing in slot 49 (as it basically happened before DD 5.2.), I somehow have to relate that mod where the piercing is in to DD in order for the device hider to realize "oh, that's one thing, that shouldn't be seen while having anything in slot 32 equipped"

 

 

Is there a tutorial for the device hider?

3BA is clipping through on certain items like restrictive boots and harness but when I equip certain items like box binder outfit, its fixed and everythings working as intended. Is there a bodyslide function I missed or something or just a 3ba thing that cant be fixed? Theres posts above saying there are patches already in 5.2 so is this covered in it? Its not for me

TBD conversion up here:

 

@zarantha I added some morphs to plugs in my conversion for a few sliders that move hip and I recall CBBE having such a slider, just letting you know. Conforming relevant sliders with solid object mode was enough if they just move hip forward/backward and align with belt/harness holes but morphs mimicking vanila body needed some manual work.
