Having a problem where Devious Devices catsuits clip on my characters boobs, but not on any NPC's. The catsuits in Bodyslide don't have any clipping issues either, only in game, and on my character. Catsuits from Cursed Loot seem to be fine, but any of the new recoloured ones have issues. (i.e Cyan or purple catsuits). 

 

I'd appreciate any help.

if it's just you, check your preset. Does it show up if you select DD's catsuits? There's 3 of them. ebonite, transparent, and zipsuit

are you using something like unique character?

 

The colors have always been there btw. All that was done was change the style a bit. and they all share the same mesh with the black/ebonite catsuit.

 

Make sure nothing is overwriting your bodyslide output.

Make sure you are using the right bodyslide for your body. Using a CBBE bodyslide when you have 3BA will cause clipping, especially during movement because 3ba's weights are different This is due to the 3 breast bones, CBBE only has one breast bone.

 

Also, if you have something changing your body to extremes (chaurus or egg pregnancy mods, milk mods, etc) then there will usually be clipping at extremes. there's no way to make sure it all doesn't clip without making the normal sizes look weird or ridiculous.

If you're using NMM, that's going to make it very hard to troubleshoot this. Both MO2 and Vortex have ways of tracking files so you know what file came from what mod. NMM just tosses everything together and if you don't know where something is from, you're kinda screwed.

 

You also need to know if you have any patches or other mods overwriting DD scripts. NMM can't do this.

For DD 5.1 (.7 is actually the archive extension .7z ), you should only have DD 5.1 installed. You should not have any separate installations for DDa, DDi, DDx, or DDc. If you have those installed separately, uninstall them.

 

If you want to stay with NMM, then uninstall ALL your mods, nuke your skyrim install and reinstall skyrim from steam. Then install skse and DD and it's requirements ONLY and start a new game to test the armbinders.

 

Otherwise, I'd recommend you move to MO2 or Vortex and test from there. You should still nuke skyrim and reinstall it because leftover files in the data folder can cause hard to diagnose problems. Vortex will clean up after itself if you purge the mods, and MO2 never sticks anything in data so it's always clean. Which one you want is up to you.

Either of those should be fine. Did you use console commands or add item menu to get the armbinder?

 

When testing, don't use anything from DDa. Use the items from DDx.

I am using Add Item Menu. but i just took a armbinder through searching by item.

Hi. I have a general question about DD. Maybe I'm wrong and I'm trying to do something I can't. Anyways.

 

In the SE compatibility thread

under animations, one of the categories is "Bondage". Mousing over it, it says "Uses ZaZ/Devious-stype accessories or furniture - gags, yokes, pillories, racks, etc"


I installed some of these animations packs with the "bondage" label, they install OK, no errors.

 

I try to use them with Devious armbinders.

 

I try various settings under ZAZ/DD/Sexlab/etc.

 

Either I get the animation and there is no actual armbinder, she is just holding her arms as IF she was in an armbiner (there are no invisible body parts as if I used Bodyslide wrong)...

 

Or I get only one of the 5 original animations from within DD for armbinders (doggy,missionary,oral,cowgirl,boobjob).

 

I seem to be unable to get any armbinder animations working with these extra animation packs.

 

(I've tried DD 5.1 as well as beta6 5.2)

 

Is this an armbinder-specific problem?
Do all other DD devices work with these animation packs?
Is the "Bondage" mouse-over wrong/outdated?
Is my SE setup bad?
Am I just dumb?

You're trying to do something not right.

Can't speak for ZAZ, but DD has those animations built in already. you don't need to install additional animations, and DD won't use them even if you do.

For DD's animations, you need the armbinder to actually be equipped before they play. The animation itself does not include the armbinder. If you're forcing it to play somehow, i would expect the armbinder to not be there.

 

For the animations you installed that are not part of DD, just forcing the animations to play, depending on who did it, it may or may not include the actual bondage device. You'd need to look at the installer or ask on the animation thread. Because if you use those animations, it will not be DD triggering them.

 

From billyy's (the only one i know with bondage animations included), the description basically says it will work as you say it is.

OK, so these packs sim you having the devices on, or have them specifically built in. OK, I'm starting to get it now. OK, so the only reliable way to have animations with DD objects is to use DD animations only. OK, I can work with that. (DD mods are infinitely better than what I could code anyways (which is none ;) ). So I'll just stick with working with you all on the the "change animation set" hotkey not working with DD devices during DD animations. (How is that going, btw? Do I need to send more papryus logs?)

If she hasn't asked for more info, she likely has enough. Even if she doesn't respond, she looks at most posts on her threads, it's just she usually pays more attention to the LE and dev threads. That's why i had you post there, to be sure she saw it.

 

What happens next is we wait for the next beta and see if it's fixed there. That could be a few weeks or somewhere around a month. Depends on how much kimy has on her plate.

 

There is a DD github, but it hasn't been used in a while. So all the effort is on kimy and wherever she keeps her repository. There's usually not much feedback unless she needed more info.

Oh, there will be a next beta? How many more betas before 5.2 release? (Just curious, I've never been involved with DD beta before, also wondering if there's time for me to find more bugs - no point if 5.2 is about to be released...)

Until kimy feels it's ready for release. there's no set number of betas.

 

I figure there's going to be at least one more because of a few other things she's said she will fix, and I think we're on the way to convincing her to make a DAR version of the animations available, which should help with all the armbinder issues people have, and make nemesis less of a hit or miss option.

From what I understand, DAR is mainly for modders and not end users?

I'm seeing some errors related to Nemesis in your log. That mod's been known to cause similar issues with animations for Devious Devices.

No, it's for end users, it just does nothing by itself. you need animations packed in a way DAR recognizes. I've got several DAR animations installed, other users have even more. It allows you to replace vanilla animations with several alternates that randomly play, or play based on certain conditions.

If you've already reinstalled DD, reinstall every other mod, including FNIS, that you see listed when generatefnisforusers. If you haven't reinstalled DD yet, do that first and see if it clears up. make sure nemesis is uninstalled before reinstalling your fnis mods.

I thought Reinstalling DD and running FNIS would be enough. Now everything functions as it should as far as im concerned. 

Reinstalling FNIS and basicly everything FNIS related seems to have done the Job.

Unlikely to happen. Looks like skyrim together is SE only. Kimy doesn't have SE and does not want to develop features that are only available for one platform.
