Anyways uploaded the 7zip version now, just to make sure. Thanks for letting me know! Edit: I've been fiddling all morning and I finally managed to get Ivy to interject in existing quest dialogue. This opens up a whole new realm of interaction for her in both the main quest line, and sidequests. But before I go this route I am thinking about implementing a different kind of affinity system: Positive actions make for a higher affinity. Negative actions make for a lower affinity. Ivy starts at 500, where she behaves 'neutral'. If her affnity drops, she becomes more evil (like you in the game) and her interjections will become more rude. If her affinity rises, then she becomes more friendly (like you in the game) and instead of pissing on NPC's, she'll be supportive. I think that would introduce a new way of playing with companions, as I don't really think the regular affinity system fits at all with her character of being a sex slave. A true master does not care about the feeling of his sex slave, and in return, the sex slave gives themselves free and willingly for whatever degradation might follow. This is the sort of relationship that the player should have with Ivy. (Basically, she should like whatever the player does).
wdaigle Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 To everyone except Reginald, I have a woman who is interested in doing the voices for this character. Reginald said that he does not want a voice actress for Ivy after all. So, before I tell this woman "no, sorry to get your hopes up"... does ANYONE need a voice actress? Is anyone working on a similar companion that needs a good voice actress? Her recordings are clear, she has no accent (usa), and she is not afraid to say some sexy stuff. Please let me know ASAP (today). Drop me a private message with your e-mail address and I'll hook you up. I don't like leaving her hanging. 2
Reginald_001 Posted March 4, 2018 Author Posted March 4, 2018 Okay. Got the first quest integrations setup. In Sully's quest at the quarry (pull the plug) she interjects that she doesn't trust Sully. During the Travis quest, where Vadim is adbucted, she now has all the lines that other companions have in that quest. I won't release this as yet another major release, as it'd be a waste to ask people to update to a new version yet again for only two quests... But if you're still interested, I've attached it to this post. I'll now continue other quest integration as I learn the CK, and I will start on Ivy's first real quest of her own! CompanionIvy0-04.7z I will also be adding some bugfixes soon to her combat idles. Sometimes she says stuff like 'dead body over here' while she's pointing to a radroach, so I'll need to add conditions to the target ref type before she opens her mouth.
Arrow and the Knee Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 If you manage to get these lines voice acted, could I make a request to have this mod's voice lines and dialogue used as a replacer to the female player character voice?

I'm not currently investing time in a real voice actor. Maybe when it's all done, I'll revisit that idea. First things on the list are: - Separate (Synth) body model for Ivy - GREAT HAIR - Better radiant and main quest integration into dialog - Rebuild the main 'your thoughts' comments structure into a info group (where it should have been to begin with).

Just confirming that the Sully interjection works fine. Can't test the Travis quest as I've not made into DC yet on my current test game. Also to note: I did not use perform a clean save. (for shame, zomg!) I merely deactivated the previous version in NMM and installed/activated the 0-04 version as normal. No ill effects, but I'm about to restart anyway due to some buggy scripts from another mod. Normalized audio is much better in my game now. First thing she said as we were leaving to find Sully was how itchy her panini was and that she needed a min. LMAO 1
Krazyone Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Ideas... 1. Special abilities... Ivy is able to open low level locks and computer terminals, handy trait early on. 2. Affinity perk... Get full affinity with her, and get a special perk. Like you do with other followers. Possible perks. THIEF - Instantly open any lock if you have 100% affinity, ( costs 300 lockpicks as well ). GEEK - Instantly open any normal and expert terminal, if you have 100% affinity and the Science Bobblehead with the extra guess perk. I usually like bringing Cait along, to open the locks that I can't. Or Nick for the computer terminals, your character could be a bit of both. If you decide to make another character, Ivy could be the Science geek with the unlock terminals perk ( she already looks the part ). With a little friend, being the expert, Munchkin sized , foul mouthed thief. Small is good for sneaking into buildings. When they meet, they get very friendly when near each other. Custom proximity dialogue. Just some ideas, if you don't like them, then just ignore this post... 1

Yes I'm enjoying her idles too. I just replaced the 'there's a dead body over here' idles, so the update tomorrow should be good, adding a lot more idles. 27 minutes ago, Krazyone said: Ideas... 1. I actually want to approach affinity differently. It will soon be that as soon as you enter the recruited phase of Ivy, she becomes your romantic partner. You can then reach either 1 of 2 perks, by playing the game evil, or good. You start at affinity 500. If you do good things, affinity rises to 1000 and Ivy's behavior changes to more 'good', (you get the 'good slave' perk) If you do bad things, affinity rises to 0 and Ivy's behavior becomes 'bad', (you get the 'bad slave' perk). I'm already working on implementing more proximity dialogue, the interjections in the Sully quest were the Proof of Concept. I hope she's going to be interacting a lot with the other characters eventually. And... I'm learning along the way. So most of this is just an idea so far. Been looking at the affinity system and it looks like a pain to set up. I have some youtube videos on it lined up for tomorrow when I return from work. 1
Eye Wish Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Really cool mod and so far no issues. But as mentioned earlier, the voice is a downer. Sounds like a synthesized version of MXR's girlfriend . A real VA would be so much better. At this point, for immersions sake, I'd say this is a sex robot. But overall, well done !

Ulysses Smirked Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Hey Reginald; having an absolute blast with her with a new playthrough. Can't wait to see the creative juices flow and where this character takes us! I really like the idea that she is a synth and the voice is a real turn-on. The facial features move very nicely to match the lip-sync. I just can't stop laughing when she comes up with the craziest shit! Really glad you decided to share this with us.

Also who wouldn't want a sex robot? I'm glad you're all enjoying it! Whenever I write dialogue for her I think she has the memory of a real woman, but is stuck in a synth body (ala Nick). I imagine she was just some raider girl, picked up by the Institute and experimented on. Her quest will definitely be about that whole background. Also, the whole recruitment part will need to be redone from scratch, but I'm figuring out a way on how best to tackle player dialogue (e.g. splice up existing dialogue, or try to reuse shared dialogue as I have before). Last night I started work on giving her her own skin so that people can customize her more easily.
HowlerMonkee Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 I just discovered this mod earlier tonight, and I'm looking forward to where you may take it. 4 hours ago, KitKatKseniya said: I must completely disagree, if you go with the logic that shes a synth and voice makes sense and fits really well. She is a private prototype sexbot from one of the earlier Institute scientists. I have now added an activation quest. You need to find her 'Redeem voucher' inside Med Tek research, you cannot activate her before that. The quest will activate when you talk to her. This explains why she 'binds' to you as companion immediately, it's just her software. The backstory is that he used the memories of a Raider as a basis for her programming, which is why she can recall her childhood and has a personal history. I am now play testing this and it works really well in game. After this is finished I will add a larger quest, unraveling her past and how she came to be at Sanctuary, etc.. (edit) IVY's first quest is finished! 1

(edit) IVY's first quest is finished! Sweet! Was waiting for this update to do my restart. Your recruitment quest reminds me of when Armand Assante finds the old warbot in the original Judge Dredd movie (the one with Stallone). He activates it, and it "imprints" on him. Thus, the warbot becomes his own personal bodyguard/mindless executioner. I like the fact that you can't have her right away when you first find her, so you, the PC have to make... what's that called... a choice. Depending on how you build the storyline and corresponding quest, this has potential to become a mini DLC of it's own (assuming, of course, you're willing to put that much work into it). Either way, she's fun to run with, and isn't that what we all want from our companions?

Simply take her back to Sanctuary, dismiss her, find the ID for her CompanionQuest, then reset the stage to 0, not tested yet, but we'll see when I do the next release (tonight). 5 minutes ago, DominusKaine said: Sweet! Reginald_001 Posted March 5, 2018 Author Posted March 5, 2018 Okay I've made a pre-release (before I upload the next major release). And I'm asking ANYONE to test it if it works. This would be a major update, requiring a new fresh save, because it changes the way that Ivy's recruited and adds a recruitment quest. Things added: - Recruitment quest, find Ivy's redeem voucher. - Ivy's Service Menu, you can access Ivy's service menu through a vocal command. As of this moment, you can only dismiss Ivy through her Service Menu, just like you would a real bot.. Oh yeah, and you can ask her to dance for you. (At a later stage I hope to be able to make it that you can customize her through the service menu. This dialog branch should potentially also allow modders to add Fourplay actions to the service menu, etc..etc..). If a modder wants to make a Fourplay plugin for Ivy, then he can make an Ivy-Addon object, with which you can upgrade her software. If I'm good enough to pull it off, that is. Can you test this out, and let me know if the quests and scripts work? I'm never sure that I packed all the requisites correctly... After confirmation that this package works, I'll upload it as new version to the downloads section. I'm also re-recording a lot of the dialog with the speed setting turned up, it makes her voice much more natural (which is good enough for now). CompanionIvy1-05_prerelease.7z 1

Also nice to know that most of her speech has been redone in this release, so it's worth downloading it, especially if you thought her speech was a bit slow before.
