Yeah, they should act almost like normal followers, just less chatty.

I'm not sure why your names aren't sticking. The only time I've had that issue is when I import them into AFT. Has to be a mod conflict tho. Do any of you have mods that change settler names automagically? That might be a place to start.

I have better settlers but i dont think it changes their name just makes more variety of them and also makes them mortal

Also on the less chatty part, I have realistic conversations installed plus companion and settlers dialogue overhaul and I noticed that when I enslaved one raider and Big Al from Raider children mod and they were both following me they would actually talk to each other lol depending on  the situation we were in. Like i think we were walking/sneaking looking for enemies the raider dude was telling Big Al to stop being a whiny bitch lol. Have not heard it happening with my two gunners but it's interesting. They do their taunts tho when fighting enemies

The only mod that is kind-of related to settlers in my mod list is 'Companion and settler dialogue overhaul' by registrator2000 on Nexus. Other than that, nothing. All my mods are either weapons, clothing, player homes, AAF and its stuff (themes, animations) and a few quality of life mods, texture replacers and a few AAF-related mods (such as Sex Attributes, AAF: Violate, etc.)

Yeah, I dunno. I've used all the mods you guys listed and not had an issue with them, so they are not likely suspects. It could be as simple as a load order thing. Like I said I've only had that issue when I imported them into AFT, (it does it to automatrons too) so I've not had to do any other trouble shooting on the subject. I wish I knew. I say it "has" to be a mod conflict as I and, I'd assume a majority of us, don't have that issue. Mod conflicts can be really weird. I have one now that playing with SS Conqueror stops any follower of mine following me through dungeons. They just stand at the door. (Most likely script lag imo.) Dropping Unique NPCs seemed to stop it. (But it came back.) There are guides for trouble shooting and they all start by trimming your mod list WAY down and adding things back in small doses. JB can conflict with a lot of stuff that isn't real obvious at first too.

Raiders keep their dialog fairly intact, so does Lucy Abernathy (comments during battle and what not.) Marcy shuts all the way the fuck up tho. (I enslave her EVERY playthrough. LOL) A lot of the others will become fairly silent tho as they only have specific voice lines. I haven't done any of the regular companions so they may stay talkative too.

Is there compatibility with AAF Violate mod? I installed Violate and JB both and when my character became victim of Violate, it didn't recognize my slave as companion. It works with other companions like Piper although.

It happened to me it works sometimes and sometimes not i think your slave has to be close to you for it to work. I was in gunners plaza and the closest slaves to me were 1 male raider and 1 male gunner that i enslaved they were violated but the 1 female gunner slave that i had and supermutant slave were walking around normally lol

It already happened to me when i combat surrendered the enemy and told them my companion will fuck them and it was my slave who did it

In my case, there was 1 female gunner slave and exactly same thing happened to me that the slave didn't anything but just walked around too. I think distance between my character and the slave was not very far.

I need help.

Is it possible to reset, or restore the NPC I had enslaved to the stage before I did the same. Like, I want to make them hostile towards me again so I can mark them again and enslave them again.

You might ask why I want to do that since I've already enslaved them. I want to do this because Rename Anything won't let me rename them, no matter what I do. So I figured if I made them hostile again and then marked them in Hunter mode I can rename them (when they are sitting wounded on the ground). That seems to work, although I'm not sure.

You can't make them hostile. You can reset it via the info menu. You can rename the slave only through the info menu, but you can't use the console, because the name is written to a variable in the script.

Naturally you should have-TextInputMenu

So I've been playing with this for some time now and here's what I found out. Turns out, I was right (yay!). When I'm in combat and enter the Hunter mode, and then mark the victim NPC, everything is just fine. Then, after combat when marked characters are wounded and lying on the ground, I simply click on them with console open and enter setname command (from Rename Anything). Rename Anything then tells me that selected character was not renamed (it doesn't have a name). After that, with console still open and character still selected, I entered setname "name" command and the victim was renamed. Then finally, I enslaved the NPC and it had the name I just gave it.

Usually, whenever I exit the game and start it again, or simply load a save, the names would be reverted. However, with this method they are not. The names will be permanent.

Also, about TextInputMenu - not working for me. When I installed it (just for the sake of Just Business) my game wouldn't load, instant CTD so that's why I'm not using it.

Thanks for reply by the way, and take care!

You can rename the victim via the console, but this victim is not yet the slave you will have. After enslavement, a clone is created (All slaves are copies of the same BaseActor), which copies the victim's name and saves it to the script. You can rename the slave itself only if there is a TextInputMenu.

f4se plugin can cause the game to crash if the plugin version does not match the f4se version.

I will try again. But again, as far as I know my method works for me just fine. I will post an update here.

Also, I'm running the latest version of F4SE so there shouldn't be any problems with it yet there are.

Update:

Somehow it worked after a few failed attempts. However, there is a conflict with PRKF it seems. I successfully renamed enslaved NPC but I lost all my skillpoints in PRKF after doing so.

Hello great mod.
But I have one problem, I play the survaival and I want the slaves who follow me to be mortals. So they are not assigned the Essential value. Can I somehow do this via esp editing?

So i have encountered this problem with slaves that i moved into settlements as their home. I assigned them as prostitutes but now I can't interact with them. Mostly this supermutant but also happens with one human slave

I recently changed my load order up and removed a title that renamed settlers. It also renamed slaves on the fly after a fast travel. Then i would change them to what I wanted. Since I removed it (trying out Unique NPCs which also names settlers) and I noticed that I couldn't change slaves name either. I read Ignotum_virum's comment above and put text input menu back in and viola, it works.

I know it crashes your game, but that's just a load order/something missing issue. I think if you figure out what's causing that you'll be able to rename them as intended. Just passing on this experience.

Well thanks for this, but I don't need TextInputMenu. I experienced conflict with PRKF. I love PRKF way too much to ditch it for TextInput, so yeah. Read my previous posts above. I can rename slaves using nothing more than RenameAnything and literally 30 seconds in console.

Also, no matter how I rename slaves (either TextInput or my method), AAF will always recognize them as just "slaves", so honestly I don't see the point of having to use TextInputMenu. My personal thinking, of course.

Is it not possible to change the appearance of unique npcs? I spawned scribe haylen after BoS was destroyed and I enslaved her so i can change her apppearance to a preset i have but it wouldnt let me? Like when i choose the preset it would make her invisible then when i close looksmenu she would just revert back to her vanilla appearance.

Presets work on regular enemy npcs

I have had a similar experience. I thought you could alter them before because I remember being able to change commander Kaylor after capturing her on my old computer but now that I am on my new one I cant alter mini boss npc's anymore. I can however alter Mags Black if I want to. Not that I did much to her. She is already pretty attractive. Sorry I dont have a solution for you maybe ignotum_virum knows something.

More power to ya, was just letting you know what I learned on the subject.

It was tricky to enslave Mags. You have to kill her first because there are scripts that prevent Just business from working otherwise. I took her clothes and weapons from her body, then I revived her with the a Tesla reanimator dart from "magic syringes" https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/31897

I defeated her again and then enslaved her. So there was no problem completing "Power Play."  "And Open" season should work fine as well. As long as you use the same method I did. You can have your cake and eat it too. Just make sure you don't blow her to pieces when you put her down. The dart does not put severed limbs back together.

Do i need that mod or can i just use the resurrect command? Also have you ever experienced a bug where when your PC has sex with a slave their names would revert to just "slave"? It happened to me multiple times and I would have to rename them again

I am fairly confident console commands will work just fine. For all I know that may be the same way the Tesla reanimator dart works anyway, by triggering the console command.

As for the glitch you mentioned; I have not seen the system change any of my slaves names after activating an AAF scene. They always stay the same in my experience. Although it would be nice if AAF would pick up on the slave actor's names instead of calling all npc's slave and marking the distance from the player character. It doesn't happen if I use the Just business interface to activate the scene either. I hope that helps.

Ok i will try that. Im actually thinking of installing the nuka-world settlements mod, turning some of the settlements into brothels and making the named Nuka-world bosses/npcs as prostitutes for the old trader slaves and new settlers to have fun with lol Assign some of them into the electrocution chair attached the to the power bike from vault 88 or use prisoner shackles attached to the targets of target practice mats from settler activities mod and it's gonna be hilarious since the prisoner shackles mats provide settlement happiness. It would make the "hero" route less boring and enable the freed traders to have some sort of revenge against the nukaworld raiders XD

I think it may actually have been MCG as the culprit for the name changing since I think it only happens when slaves approach me for some fun times or I use the MCG hotkey on them. It really would help if their names could be recognized since I have companion status mod and all the slaves are just appearing as "slave" on the hud

I was wondering is it not possible to remove the shock collars and keep them as slaves? I have the real handcuffs patch and when I accidentelly equipped head gear on my slaves that uses the same slot as the shock collar the game CTDs

Edit:

Also i wanted to replace shock collars with hacked versions like I could before the real handcuff patch. Is it still possible to do that?
