To be, or not to be...a guy in Skyrim.

And no, she never went back to the house so I started over, married the girl/waitress from the Silver Blood Inn and had the same fucking problems. I teleported her fine ass to our house but, she keeps trying to leave. I think I may give up.

Some people just have bad luck with relationships... Maybe form a meaningful relationship with someone before marrying them and they won't leave you immediately?  :P

Is there an eHarmony type thing in Tamriel? Could my guy walk around the major cities and paste up fliers titled:

"Looking for Wife"

  • Must be hot
  • Handful-sized breasts
  • Child-bearing hips
  • Plump ass
  • Excellent cook
  • Will not speak unless spoken to
  • Doesn't complain
  • Virgin (No used goods)
  • Anyone over the age of 18 need not apply

"Send all applications to Alexander of Whiterun. I cannot stress enough the importance of hotness and keeping your mouth shut, if you do not fill these requirements don't bother applying."

You should ask Balgruuf about the dating agency he signed up with.

I can't stop laughing!!! Brilliant! I'm having Alexander sign up with that dating agency ASAP!

Oh no MsOtaku! Seams like you got my curse with male characters. Since you made this topic, I decided to give male male asshole another run. This time I knew what to expect going in, and he didn't bother me as much. Though I'd still like to beat his ass for being such a lowlife POS, I'm actually having a bit of fun playing as him, looks like your heartlessness may have worn off on me ;) .

As to the issue of your wives running off on you (maybe they got wind of your extra curricular activities) you could always try the My Home is Your Home mod, use one of the follower managers to make her a follower, and reassign her house to your place. That should hopefully keep her locked down.

And since we are showing pictures of our guys, here he is, that asshole I was talking about. He's not pretty, but he's not supposed to be either.

And this is how he runs around, leaving no bandit, forsworn, or random townswoman safe.

Wow... your guy does look like an asshole. ;) I wanted mine to be irresistible to the ladies - even though he rapes a lot of them.... well, bandits mostly, and a few citizens. Okay so he doesn't take "No." for an answer.

In regards to his wives not wanting to stay in their damn place, which is in the kitchen of our home, I've tried My Home is Your Home but, prefer the "More Adoptable Children" one - I've never had a problem with that mod - I think it's just an NPC thing or as @GimmeBACON says, Alexander needs to find time between raping bitches to go on dates and find a meaningful relationship. (I couldn't type that with a straight face.)

And don't go complaining that my sadisticness (not heartlessness - I don't have a heart) has rubbed off on you; consider it a gift. [insert smiling, devil face emoji here]

xoxo

He would have to look irresistibly attractive, otherwise women wouldn't put up with the misogynistic attitude.

... Yes, I am indeed saying women are more shallow then men, fight me. post-480513-0-15555800-1487205979_thumb.jpg

Dammit all to hell. This is proving to be way more difficult than playing the game in it's hardest mode. I cannot find a proper housewife for my guy. This is wife #3 and while she did show up at our house, she is a complete and total bitch and I ended up killing her.... she's the hot redhead that operates the mill before the gazillion steps to go see the grey-beards.

I have NEVER had a problem finding husbands for my female PCs. Hell, even the children I had Alexander adopt showed up at the house I always use - Cliffside Cottage - then disappear and I can't find them. I do NOT have this problem with my girls...

Modded Skyrim wasn't meant to be played by male PCs. I'm seriously loosing my nerve.

Bijined Miss Temba is rather hot.

I have no idea why the gender of the NPCs or the PC would affect anything, unless the mod you're using for marriages is broken somehow.

If you really do want "spouses" to stay in one particular place, maybe just use the Harem feature in The Manipulator?

In the interest of science and testing, how about getting a male spouse?  Also, oddball question, but if you are using alternate profiles, any chance settings for the marriage mod or some other home mods are different in this profile than your female PC? (Not sure even that there are settings that can change).

I've heard good things about Sylgja from Shor's Stone as a vanilla Skyrim wife. Don't believe I recall anyone ever having any issues with her after they married her.

If you're having a lot of difficulties, why not try marrying a downloadable Follower instead, without a set house to live in? There's a hell of a lot of really hot Followers out there, so you don't need to pick a script heavy one like Sofia or Vilja or something. Pick yourself out a hottie and whisk her home to bed. Are you using My Home is Your Home and Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions mods?

I don't use a marriage mod for the ceremony I use the Hearthfire one that allows you to "Bless this home" so your PC's spouse and kids can move in there and Spouses Enhanced. I will try to have him marry a guy but, I don't know if I should have him marry one of my usual dudes or just a regular NPC male. With my female PCs her husband fights along side her and I keep Lydia at home with the kids and for threesome purposes.

In regards to the house since I first discovered it on the Nexus, it's always been my house. I have a nice remodeled version of Breezehome that I always have active and use it for storage or an overnight stay if I'm in Whiterun. But, I've never had a runaway husband.

EDIT:  About my profiles, the only mods that affect ALL of my profiles are ones that involve animations - FNIS Sexy Walk, Sexy Idles, Jump, etc. If I change them in one profile it changes for all. Other than that any mod that I have unchecked in one profile does not affect the other.

Maybe try a vanilla/HF home and see if the problem persists?

I was actually thinking about that when I went to bed. I'll switch off the modded version of Breezehome for experimental reasons and see if it works.

Thank you both very much for the advise and suggestions. xoxo

I felt like Trump judging women in a beauty pageant last night. I was just looking at videos of "Hot Skyrim Wives" and writing their names down.... I was interested in Sylgia but, I read on some forums that sometimes she will not go back to Skyrim and will stay in Solstheim. I could give it a shot and see what happens.

And there's something about the downloadable followers/spouses that put me off. First of all, yes there are so many, secondly, I want a spouse that has something to say and if the voice acting sucks, it's a complete turn off. That's why I go with the vanilla/expansion spouses - because I know they are well voiced acted and most of them are really charming and funny.

The women in this game are mean! The only ones I have totally fallen in love with are Mjoll and Serana. Mjoll is a sweetheart but, I don't want my PC to marry her for RP reasons. I want a nice stay-at-home-wife for him and Mjoll to be his lover and fight along side him.

But beggars can't be choosers so I will go to the Nexus now and look for "hottie followers" and add that to my experiment.  If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Oh, and I use Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions mod.

*******

I'm sorry if I'm coming off as whiny about this RP/Story, Male PC thing, I just want it to be as I pictured it. I love you guys for helping me out. It means a lot. xoxo

The vast majority of custom Followers on the Nexus actually use vanilla voice assets, e.g. Female Commander (Uthgerd, Thane Bryling, Rikke), Female Even Toned (Lydia, Vittoria Vici, Anekke Crag-jumper), Female Young Eager (Ysolda, Sylgja, Elisif the Fair), etc... Any time you marry a Follower with that voice type, he or she will use all the marriage dialogue available for that voice type, minus any annoying comments the regular NPC makes, so no thanking you for murder from Muiri, conversations about Khajit caravans from Ysolda, and so on. Just saying that you don't have to worry that downloadable Followers are completely personality-less if you marry them. You could also try making your own if you've got any ability with the CK. I've made quite a few for my own game. The only difficult part is getting them to accept a RaceMenu customized face but it's just a few extra steps.

Also, have you tried out Spouses Can Live Anywhere mod?

Link to comment

I'm completely clueless when it comes to CK so I stay far away from it. I really love the Hearthfire one but, also love that one can assign houses to different followers with Spouses Can Live Anywhere. Do you know if I can use them both at the same time?

I play Skyrim as a male. I've only played a little bit as a female, I just couldn't get used to the voice. It was unnatural to me. I play Fallout 4 as a guy as well, and playing as a female in other games where it's set like that (Tomb Raider, etc) makes me a little nervous. For me it's distracting, I want to pay attention to the game, not the PC's butt.

This means you still have some amount of power play left in the game and don't want to let go of it. What is power play? mental thing where the game is stroking your ego aka killing npcs getting stronger etc and with fallout 4 it lasts longer simply because guns and power armor are involved. Once you lose that power play in skyrim you won't have a problem playing as a female character and playing the game just for porn. I like to keep skyrim around as a porn simulator or pornrym and fallout 4 for the power play and shooting stuff. I don't project myself onto my character in skyrim anymore either as you are still doing so that helps a lot with playing a dumb blonde bimbo character that seems to fall into every sexy trap and situation she comes across. She starts out fine but as time goes on she ends up being gobbled up by the major porn mods and spends the rest of her game life in slavery and sex scenes then I start her over and try new mods etc.

Anything I can think of should affect both male and female actors then, using the vanilla marriage system. I would suggest that the spouse is heading to Whiterun to run a shop/stall in the market, but if the male actors don't do that I don't know why the female ones would.

If owning and moving to other houses doesn't add clarity, (Hearthfire or another city, could you try living in in-town Breezehome a day?)

Sylgia either isn't the wife you were thinking of or the review got something wrong. She's from Shor's Stone north of Riften, in Skyrim, unless you meant she would not leave Skyrim and move into Solsteim.  As for beauty pagents... that depends a lot on which body and hair mods you have and the NPC appearance overhauls you have, of course. I don't think I can call any stock in game character beautiful with the options available via mod.

Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder and we're dealing with pixelated game characters with two dimensional (if that) personalities.

EFF mod works just fine you can choose where an npc lives just not dogs for some reason. Would love to be able to leave meeko at home without having to get kids first but nope nuthin like that available.

I'd love to use EFF but, the "No helmet while out of combat" thing was what made me use AFT. :(

To each their own. I always play a female character if I get the choice and it's not just to look at her butt. ;) What I'm doing here is just an experimental play though and trying to figure out why things aren't going as smoothly, mod-wise, with a guy than a female PC.

This means you still have some amount of power play left in the game and don't want to let go of it. Um... no. I have several female PCs and some are heavy armor wearing, greatsword wielding powerhouses. Others are stealthy, then I have others that are just for pure story/fun - drug addicts and prostitutes, succubus girls, girls coming into the game with nothing and making something out of themselves by doing honest work. My mains are playing the game with some sex involved, I do not have a ton of sex mods on those profiles. When I get tired of dungeon crawling and fighting then I switch over for some kinky fun and a break. I am not on a "power play". Just because you don't project yourself on to your character doesn't mean that it's wrong or stupid for other people to do so. I don't need big guns to blow shit up in Skyrim and feel pumped. I'm perfectly happy running in to a camp full of bandits and going berserk with my weapon of choice and feeling really good looking at the piles of dead bodies my PC left behind.

And please don't assume that playing as a female means that the PC is dumb and will fall for anything. If people want to play Skyrim vanilla or with very little mods or a lot of mods, whether they are sexual in nature or not, not all of us go for the "dumb blond" approach just for picking a female PC.

I use this for voice. Female commander or commoner sound good, for male I use Wulfy.

I've only ever actually married three NPCs in Skyrim. The first was way back in the day when I played this on Xbox and it was Ysolda. The other two characters are both custom followers.

Signar for my girls with a few custom edits I made to him, http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65099/?

The other was Minerva, also for a woman character and customized by myself. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74256/?

Minerva isn't truly custom voiced, she's more like how FoxFingers did Amorous Adventures. But she's great, very nice and has a lot of cool lines that you don't see in the normal vanilla game. I would recommend her, if you're at all into elves.
