I probably have several hundred hours in BS/OS converting "whatever" to UUNP-HDT.

And there you see the tragedy of capitalism. If you spent half the time reinventing the wheel like we are currently, no one would have to struggle with these choices. But it's gotta be MINE

What Mods are you using for the hair?

There's a couple of easy to use SMP hairs available. I think I am using a KShairs SMP that was recently released for SSE on the forums. There are 3 or 4 SMP hair packs posted earlier in the forums but here are some links. You may need to nif optimize some. https://www.loverslab.com/topic/46300-hdt-and-smp-hair-list/      http://www.skycitizen.net/?view=POST&post=191346

YES! I hope she figured out what my Chinese translation requesting her to fix it meant. I KNEW it was a problem with the constraint groups in the capes.

Since someone asked, I figured I'd post the general path to SMP success.... Feel free to add on to it if I am missing something.

HDT smp Requirements: skse64 ,xpmsse , fnis, smp framework, hdtsmp dlls , cbbe hdsmp xml file, and if wanted hhsmp  (smphighheelssyste,)....

What to do:

1) Install SKSE64 (2.0.6 currently)

2) Install xpmsse

3) Install FNIS

4) Go to http://www.9damao.com/thread-61878-1-1.html, translate with google, sign up, and reply to Hydrogen's post to download the SMP files => hdtSSEPhysics_1_5_23 and hdtSSEFramework_1_5_23 and install them accordingly

5) Install CBBE and CBBE SMP configs

6) Set up your body and clothes with bodyslide for CBBE physics or special

7) Download whatever SMP game stuff you want. Some is plug and play. Some you will need to nifoptimize or do a full physics XML edit and mesh edit

8) Run FNIS

9) Bounce, jiggle, and flutter throughout Skyrim

Incredible! It's simply incredible what people discover nowdays..

You want to register every mesh you want to use in the registry file. Linking nifs directly to controller files like you see in armors is maybe working but not in the idea of the creatress.

Fnis is only needed once to register the skeleton.

Any properly set up bone constraint works as long as the mesh is weightpainted to those.

These part is not easy at all , These is where it gets hard you have to check for .tga files (they must be .dds) and the nifoptimizer can break the whole nif sometimes make you have to do a manual conversion over and over  again (I've noticed that Bodyslide LE/SE can work miracles.)til you don't CTD.

The Silver Saphire and Silver Emerald necklaces seem to be broken somehow. Yet all the rest seem to work great. I'll check out the hair tomorrow. Thank you.

You shouldn't be editing a "mesh edit" for jack shit, unless you're converting a multi part 32 nif with separate groups into a 64 standard nif.

The entire point of a registry file with controller files per mesh completely removes the need to ever touch a nif with any redundant data formatting or injection, and by ever that means ever. If bullet is ever changed in format/notation or the base libraries update and Hydro implements it, all that shit you nistringed will be broken for no reason other than "but mah PE".

By being entered into the registry with a controller file, the mesh is INHERENTLY recognized as legal to operate on.

TGA

TGA has been deprecated for over five years, and anyone with a copy of the full LE suite would have no use for it, much less SSE.

And there are still popular mods that have not been updated to take that into account, for example the art of magic, still has tga files in its install, pretty sure there are others as well.

Humm now that things are moving a bit faster a dedicated SSE Physics subforum would be appreciated.

Agreed. One that lists tried or new mods that work on SMP would be great so we dont have to hunt through everything to find stuff would definitely be helpful.

Cool. The forsworn were stuck as well. What did you have to do to fix them? Are you able to roll the blue HDT test earrings V2 and Necrosarium into this? I can't find the original post so here's the file containing them. Let me know if you find who made this. Also, do you know how to get HDT Scarves 1.0 working?

Sorry, I guess I should have said, "if nitoptimizer doesn't work, you're fucked". I was just trying to provide some idea that it may not just "work" and difficulty scales exponentially from the instructions I've given if it does not work. Sometimes nifoptimizer is all you need but not always and not often.

Good idea. I don't know if someone has taken up the mantle or if they are waiting for SMP physics development to finish (and SKSE to be released fully)

Sounds like the physics are working but your body physics are not set up properly. Did you check your config files in the SKSE folder and use Bodyslide to install a physics body (CBBE physics or CBBE special body)? I neglected to add it to the instructions because you don't need to do it if you installed everything correctly but defaultBBPs.xml in your hdtSkinnedMeshConfigs folder absolutely HAS to link the CBBE.xml in it like the 3rd line in this code below. Does yours?

Thanks for the reply I managed to find out what it was something was overriding my character skeleton its working now but the bounce is very subtle is they any way to increase it. Thanks.

Good point about making sure the load order is correct. Try this for "less subtle" physics.

Rigging new bones is beyond me.

Why don't you do your retexture to the SMP one first, so people can see what you want the mesh for. I admit, it's the only SMP rigged long coat I have seen on the web and has value in that, but a lot of people, myself included, will find the texture theme distasteful. Someone might be more interested if it wasn't emblazoned as it is.

As far as what's wrong with the mesh, the bones on the left side of the lower part of the coat stretch off into infinity. I looked and looked and I couldn't find the reason why. The Physics seem to work fine on the right side if the coat. I quit messing with it when my graphics card started to freak out over it. Like i said, the mesh has great potential to be retextured to suit a variety of styles, so it would be cool to see it working for that reason. If someone can point me in the right direction as to what might be the issue, I'll take another stab at it. But, I tried and couldn't figure it out.

Does anyone know if it's possible to make SMP conversion files for a non-HDT armor without re-releasing the mod? These are simply the best armors to ever be released for Skyrim... https://www.patreon.com/posts/9204-ds-sunless-14894155. I would personally start converting them if I knew how. They are that good. Here's the page with more http://9204honeybee.tistory.com/?page=3

I've been playing with the Dark Souls armours myself. I just haven't figured out how to set up an SMP XML to use the PE nodes.

Darn. I hope someone knows where we can get this information. Where did you get your armors from? These 9204 guys make great use of physics if we can get it working.

There's A pack with some of the armours where the meshes have already been converted to work with SSE if you don't want to do it yourslf. All the ones I have tried seem to work fine, just no physics. They're still rigged for them though. Like I said, just need to set up the XML properly.
