Stupid yes. Unbelievable no. Some people just shouldn't be mothers. A smart person wouldn't become a beached whale and not have it checked out by a doctor.

I thought of that and whether women are at "fault" or not is irrelevant. If the society the woman lives in doesn't teach them about pregnancy then it is still a form of stupidity. Keep in mind that there still is a patriarchy out there that wants to keep people especially women in the dark about sex as a form of control. And again should that person really be mother at that point when the child gets born in such a society?

Well I say patriarchy but I'm sure there are some matriarchies out there that are just as oppressive. People are contradictory that way. Can't think of any real world examples off the top of my head but as a general rule of thumb one doesn't last long when trying to oppress people especially those of the same sex, gender, ethnicity, etc.?

yep - The "one probe full resources" mod for mass effect 2 really takes the tedium out of researching improvements as does bumping up magazine limits.

Many ways actually. But a favorite is just plain fear. Fear with some privileges of course. Creature comforts is another. The sad truth is that some people will always be subjugated to another stronger/more clever one.

Fear requires you being the only one in power. That would mean quelling uprisings before they get out of hand and the irony is that the more you tighten your grip on security at expense of the people's personal freedoms the more people want to rise against you. There are some dictatorships out there that continue to be successful that much is true but I wouldn't call subjugation "simple".

It's all about hitting when the iron's hot. All the successful dictatorships you see around the world took power quickly during times of instability and confusion. That's how the nazis and soviets took power and those are just two examples. But fascists at their core are completely retarded, they all eventually spiral out of control and crash down (some take way too long to burn out but it happens eventually) because even a sea of yes-men can't save them from reality.

 

So the longer you drag things out for them the more unstable, hateful and desperate they get (just look at a certain political group in America that shall not be named due to ToS reasons) and their antics start to backfire in their face, but because fascists are again, fucking retarded, they can't process that so they go even more extreme with their rhetoric which only pushes the regular moderates away because the iron is getting cold fast and they keep hitting it like chimps without realizing it.

 

Fear is their currency, you beat them by burning it in their face.
