I don't want fucking Youtube shorts displayed on my subscription list on Youtube, and there doesn't seem to be a way to remove the fucking panel. You could for "National Emergencies", (eg cosplay plague), but not for some twat you subscribe too who thinks it's a good idea to do a twenty second video of them waving a stick about or showing something out of context, you can't remove it. It's not displayed on the general tab, so I suspect it's Youtube trying to 'encourage' people to see what 'they' want you to see - which is basically trash. Rant over.
