Codifer Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 A couple of years ago I thought I was doing pretty well for 69, then came the cancer and the chemo and radiation which near did me in. I felt like I aged ten years in six months. I will be 72 in November and my body continues to fail. But as long as I can prop my near useless left arm to the "w a s d" keys, I will continue to roam Skyrim. Wish I could do it all over.
protocolk Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 A bit, I love pranks and sometimes acti a bit childish and overhappy like the world was full of explosions and awesomness... But when i see the next generation all I can think is OMG make it stop! Humanity is doomed! Im surrounded by idiots that think they fucked my mother! KILL THEM WITH FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!! I fell like a Playfull old man... And now The cicle of life from lion king is playing on my mind, great movie, I had a nice childhood.
Sir Artsy Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Yes and no.. (<-title reply) I do feel like i'm out of loop, but i also feel that i'm not missing much. (memes, memes there and here!) When i was 25-26, i started to notice that something did change. In terms of gaming atleast. I have become hell of a lot pickier towards what games are worth time and money.
Vacaliga Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Back when school ended a few weeks ago I was at a corner store and the nice lady at the counter asked if I was going out celebrating like the rest of the students, I was so happy for a few mins before remembering, the time when the answer to that was yes, was 12years ago.
Guest airdance Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 It seems like only yesterday that I started my career. You know what I mean, wide eyed enthusiasm, young, beautiful, afraid of all the wrong things. On my first assignment, one of the board members referred to me as "that Lolita bitch" Today there is no man who would ever think of me as being a "Lolita" and yet I have not reached thirty yet. Why only yesterday a young man held a door open for me as my daughter and I walked into a store. I do not feel old, but it is like that noise in the distance, that rumbling, it tells you something is coming even if you cannot see it. I think getting older does not mean throwing away a favourite coloured lipstick or a fabulous pair of boots; instead, it is about harnessing all the great things I have learned over the years about what does and does not suit me, and enjoying the way in which cleverly selected outfits can enhance the nice bits.
gokuzeny Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I am about to turn 32 and normally wouldn't consider that old and yet i feel like it, maybe it has to do with the fact that all of my friends and cousins are married or soon to be, most of whom are younger than me, and here i am, still searching for the right woman, and on top of that im no where close to where i wanted to be in life at this age, too many stupid decisions have corned me financially so to speak, so I can relate in a way as it feels like im running out of time to do the things i wanted to do (should have already done).
BoozeJunky Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I guess I'm in kind of a weird position. I'm definitely feeling my age creeping up on me, but on the other hand, I'm also in the best shape I've ever been in my life. Spent way too much of my time fat and tired, and in the last few years have shed 130lbs to a trim 155 and am working on gaining some of that weight back in a lifting routine I do three times a week - with cardio on my off days. Finally did the first pull up in my life the other day, and can run damned neared a mile before needing a break - whereas before I could barely run a few hundred feet. It was that bad (I also used to smoke, but quit that a few years back). So now I'm at this place where I'm more capable than I've ever been, and wondering what all else I could have accomplished if I had felt this good and energetic all along. And sad that I know at this point, it's pretty much too late to build a whole lot on this foundation.

Slammer64 Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rage at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Thorham Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I'm 40 and feel the same as when I was 18, just not as fit because of years of smoking, drinking and sitting on my ass. Feeling old? Hahahahahahaha.
Afro68 Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I'm 48 and I'm in better shape at 48 than I was at 21. I feel pretty good but it does hit home at work when I see new employees and I've been at my job longer than they've been alive...
Kaz Aanh Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Well i may only be 24, but it does feel like i was just a young teen running around making trouble not too long ago. So i do get that feeling. The years just goes by so quick >u< When you start work , years just go like crazy. Its especially worse if you have no real hobby and sit front of PC all day all night, not going outside. I mean what kind of life is it? Just survive today and tomorrow, another day . . .? Rinse&repeat? Finding a decent hobby and organizing your free time really *slows down* the time.
Darkening Demise Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Today's media being all shit Games turning into shit All you see and hear is shit All you can do is spew shit from your mouth Yeah I'm feeling old and out of place a lot since I turned 18 (going on 22, on the 23rd of this month) Part of growing up though is becoming stubborn and hating on newer things because they're different from what you grew up with.
nIn nIn nIn Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I'll be 50 this year. Body aches a lot more, but mind is still just as devious now as it was at 18 years old. Heck I still fondly remember stating that I wanted to be dead before I got old and decrepit - bearing in mind that goal post was set at 32 years old at the time. My feeling hasn't changed, but the goal post most definitely has. I don't want to get to 80.
PillowFun Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I'm turning 21 later this year and I just graduated college, I am also in a long interview process to have a potential career and I feel like i'm still way to young for this. Even with all of the things i've done people still treat me like a child and can't really blame them, I just wonder how long it will be until I feel old.
PsychoMachina Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I don't feel old, but I have noticed lately that my nutsack is in a race with my ass cheeks to see which will be the first to reach the floor.
LordJerle Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 32 here. Actually have a genetic pre-disposition to early gray hair courtesy of my dad's side of the family. So far it's only showing up in my facial hair with patches here and there. He was almost completely gray by the time he was my age. Then again, he had to raise me :-P Some days I feel old, especially when I look at the gray hair in the mirror, some days I feel like a little kid. Last night was my first night back from vacation, and I'd spent 11 days off my feet, and I didn't have time to sit down at work, cuz we had a massive amount of freight, so atm, my knees are hurting like hell, so I'm leaning towards the feeling old side of things.

Yeah definitely c: Luckily my current work is for a gaming company and only a few days a week, so i can spend most of the time gaming at home next to my boyfriend, plus he works at the same place as me, so it's probably more my happiness that makes time go by fast haha.
Chbaakal Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I just turned 49 in May. An age I thought I would never be, since my regular physicians had predicted I'd have my first stroke or cerebral aneurysm at age 41, and had only 5 more years left to me. Now, after another checkup they've given me another 7 years to 'ponder my fate'. What dartboard are you using to come up with such a number, anyway? I've been shot twice, stabbed, hit by cars (twice: their fault), thrown from a car, fallen from a cliff (4 cracked ribs and a bruised spine), my cheekbones broken, electrocuted, almost buried alive, kicked by a horse, numerous things busted over my head (barfights), 5 various surgeries (including a hole drilled in my skull), and a dislocated shoulder. And I'm still here. TRY to scare me. Really. My 'karma' has already made attempts to kill me on numerous occasions. 'Wrong place, wrong time' is my motto, and Murphy is my copilot. Fuck your predictions.
spoonsinger Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Feeling old, (because of time and experience), horny, (because of time and experience), and bored. I suspect the last bit is the problem.
Guest Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 A bit younger, but I can totally relate... It's so odd to feel out of the loop when, well, it's not that long ago that we were "with it"! ...Or is it... months and years really start flying somewhere after the early 20ies, and suddenly you think about pension care payplans..
d2unite Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I think I had my age crisis at 22-23 and didn't know what to do with my life. I packed my bags and went backpacking for a year, money I had saved up over the 3 years I had just worked and had no fun. I met amazing people that I am still in contact with now and I think this experience gave me something more in life and is easing my fear of aging. I lost my virginity eons ago, had my relationships, had my breakups, had my cries and what not - the situation I am in now is of choice. I can imagine that one might feel stressed and that time is running away if one has a lot to tick off ones list of "thigns I want to do before I grow old". It is also as someone says - the same routine, when you work 6-10 hours a day, everyday becomes similar - you meet same people at work with same issues, you go home playing same games, go to bed at same hours. The more you do, the more memories you make, the more you'll probably feel like "everyday is unique" and thus it wont seem like it is flying past so fast. I honestly remember that I was looking at the mirror at 16 with my first razor blade and thinking "At some point I will look at this and be an old man" - sends shivers down my spine when I shave and think back on it and sort of see a very real image of young me standing there in my head.
Veladarius Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I am 45 currently but mentally feel like late 20's, nothing much has changed there. Physically is completely different, when I was young I was told how much I looked like my dad when he was younger now I look like my grandfather did in his late 50's.
