Guest Vendayn Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 The textures are actually purple I think and not blue. But my eye see certain colors weird. So, that is the missing texture bug.
Trykz Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 Yeah, something is configured wrong there. I just loaded up one of my test characters, and it all looks just as pictured in the second post of this thread. Try swapping in the full set of original CBBE textures and see what it looks like then. Also, some mods can still conflict with each other, even when deactivated. Especially anything that deals with hi-res textures. If swapping in the original CBBE textures doesn't work, you might need to re-install the game to clean things up. If you end up re-installing the game, re-install your mods one at a time and then test for oddities in different lighting. Keep me posted, Trykz
Guest Vendayn Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Yeah, the original CBBE textures didn't work either. I'll have to reinstall Skyrim then. Not a big deal really. I have some mods I don't really need/want anyway. I'll let you know how it goes. It will be the first mod I install.

Just as an extra precaution, I created a brand new character in Helgen, and just exited the tunnel from the Keep with Ralof. Everything worked perfectly. Once you re-install (make sure you delete the entire Steam folder with Skyrim in it, or you'll have the same problem again because your Data folder doesn't get deleted), you should only need to merge the two Data folders (the mod Data folder and the Skyrim Data folder). You shouldn't need to install anything else because the race is completely standalone. Trykz
Guest Vendayn Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 No, it is definitely the mod sadly. 99% fresh install (I deleted most of the extra folders I had in the main directory + data folder + wrye bash)...leaving behind nexus manager+skse still left in the folder And I still get the blue/purple or whatever color it is, textures on Nidia race.

[/quote'] There's definitely something up with your installation. I've been over the mod multiple times since last night, and nothing is out of place: As you can see, it's running perfectly. Both indoors and out. And these pics were taken with my usual graphics settings, ENB on, and ALL of my mods enabled and running (about 115 different mods). I would try putting the re-installed game OUTSIDE of the the default Program Files (x86) install location. Do a full re-install. Because the problem may not actually be in the game directory itself. It could be something in the Skyrim.ini or SkyrimPrefs.ini in your Documents folder with you saves that's causing the issue. I don't use Wrye Bash either. I merge armor mods in the CK myself to conserve space when I reach the mod cap. Also, I run my all of my race mods at the lower end of my load order, just above anything SKSE requires to be dead last to work. The only other thing I can think of (if you used it to install the mod), is Nexus Mod Manager. I don't use it, and I also don't support it. I don't set up the directory structures for auto-installation. Especially for NMM, because they update that piece of shit too frequently for my liking, and my mods usually have too many options for NMM to adequately manage. All of my mods are manually installed, so I never need to question if they were installed correctly. It seems this race is taunting you at every turn I was hoping you'd be playing it by now. But I would seriously just get rid of every trace of Steam AND Skyrim to start (toss out everything from your Documents but your character saves, move them to another location, like your desktop), so you know you've cleaned everything out. Create a Games folder on your C: drive, and then direct the game installation to that folder. It runs so much smoother when it's not in Program Files (x86), and doesn't have to follow all that pathing around your drive. Follow this if you're not sure how to install the game outside of the default directory. Again, keep me posted, and I hope you get it sorted soon so you can enjoy the mod. Trykz

Trykz [/quote'] May I ask which mods you use for your game? Also, I have never done anything but some *very* basic toying with the CK back in Oblivion and Fallout 3, but I want to convert or make my own armor mods at some point. One armor mod that I really want to update just for my own use, or possibly, once I know how to do it, re-create on my own so I can claim it legitimately and upload is http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5537 . I like the idea of transparent glass armor. I've gathered several modding guide links together, so hopefully I won't be too frustrated. I'm sure that there are probably easier ways to start modding, but as I really want that mod and the author hasn't updated it to fit the current CBBEv3, that's what I want to shoot for. I have been waiting for my computer to arrive, but as it is still at least 2-3 weeks away, I think I will start my learning on my wife's computer. Any advice, tips, help, etc will be greatly appreciated (if you have time - I know you are very busy).

My mod list is quite extensive, and I usually compact things through the CK by combining the mod parts into a new, single .esp that holds a lot of what I use. The ENB I use is the "wrapper version" from the ENB site, the ENB Customizer for out of game settings, and the Imaginator for in-game preset adjustments as I need them. Most of my armors are 2pac's replacers, which were later converted to CBBE with BBP (both available here on LL), which I turned into non-replacers through the CK and beefed up to suit my gameplay. I use Mak's stuff as well, which I put through the same treatment in the CK. Mak's armors and 2pacs converted stuff fits very well together, providing for some really nice looking mashups. I also use a bunch of difficulty mods, like Deadly Dragons and the like, to make fights last much longer than vanilla (no 2 hits and dead shit in my game LOL). I've had Dragon fights last as long as 30 minutes Finally, I top it off with the Community Uncapper for both level and perks (requires SKSE) at the very bottom of my load order. Guest Vendayn Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 I did a complete reinstall again, this time taking out the .ini files in documents folder. And a new save as well. I still get the blue/purple textures however and in light from a fire, the skin is overly bright. And there is nothing else except the mod+live another life. Could it be you have a file(s) or an option that didn't get included into the mod? I helped someone test a companion mod and it worked for her, but the head when I used it was featureless black. She uninstalled all the files with the companion and tried the version she sent me, and saw that it didn't work for her either then.

However, the brightness of the skin is a feature of the race apparently. I didn't make any skintone adjustments at all. They're just REALLY white on the low end of the slider. I'm talking snow white LOL What companion mod by the way? Something made from the race as I released it? Or from the original release? I hate to say it, but this is beginning to sound like an issue with your computer, and how your graphics adapter handles bright textures and colors. Perhaps an outdated driver or something. I really don't know. Everything related to the mod is exactly as I packaged it. I even uninstalled and re-installed it just to be sure. And it still works fine. But one last question in case it might be relevant: Are you using the optional HD textures they added to the game some time ago? I ask because I know that some body mods had issues with that during beta testing. I recall CBBE having some pretty major issues with it. Lots of people were pretty pissed about it. Trykz
Guest Vendayn Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Nope, I always delete the HD textures bsas+esps. It makes the game too slow for my machine. These are what the race looks like for me when I try to use it, took a couple quick screenshots. Also, it has to be Nidia mod being the fault. But no idea why. Original nidia works fine and I downloaded your Demoness race, just to see if there was any problems...and it works perfectly. My graphics drivers are up to date as well, and I always uninstall the old ones properly. So I don't know.

I don't recall changing anything after packaging up the mod, but I suppose it's a possibility. Let me repack and re-upload it directly from my installation. Give me a few. Trykz
Trykz Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 Vendayn: try this one: http://www.mediafire.com/?w38hi8ikrddefzw This is exactly as I have the mod installed currently. Just drag the Data folder over your Skyrim\Data folder and let them merge. Accept any overwrites, as they're most likely the skeleton and generic quest script files overwriting the ones you downloaded with The Demoness mod, which are the same thing. If this doesn't fix the issue, I'm not sure what will. 30 people including you have downloaded the mod from the other link, and no one else has mentioned anything in regard to any issues at all. Let me know, Trykz
Guest Vendayn Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 That worked, you must have packaged it wrong. The 28 people (not including me) may have the same thing and just not reported it. But downloading your new file fixed what was wrong. The race textures work now. The file is also a bit bigger than previous one. The one you uploaded before was 69,175 KB and the new one is 69,244...so something must have been missing.

I like realism mods (in general), lighting mods, as well as difficulty mods (plus the clothing/armor/etc mods). I don't want a dragon to be killed by three bandits or for the nights to seem like twilight all the time. I want torches to have a purpose and for there to be a reason to run away sometimes.
Guest Vendayn Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Sadly, there is now another problem. I edited the previous post a tad bit. The textures work great like I said. That is fixed. Sadly, the race has no animations at all and is stuck in a "standing with arms sticking out" and there is no animations to her. She floats along the ground, too. Again, this is only mod I have (besides alternate start).

I simply fixed it myself, but hadn't had time until now to let Trykz know. By the way, fantastic mod!! Trykz the problem was the texture path. In the main download, you have the texture path as follows: textures/Nidia/etc it should be textures/actors/character/nidia Thermaltake so Vendayn just fix the first download and you are good to go.
Guest Vendayn Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Thanks Thermal That worked for the first download and still have the animations as well. Now to reinstall the mods I want to use.
Guest Vendayn Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Yup, can confirm. Everything works like it should. The textures were going into the wrong folder. Completely missed that when I was moving textures to the data folder. I'll be trying the various options, see what I like best. Thanks (again) so much Now I get to play one of my favorite mods and its even better And hopefully others like Nidia as well. She is a good race, and was kind of off the radar.

I must have skipped the texture pathing beyond the textures folder, as I was bouncing back and forth trying to confirm everything was included. The difference in the file size is the behavior files for the skeleton which are required for the animations to work It's a rarity to find someone NOT using BBP, so I think I left them out of the original download. In any event, I'm glad it's working for you, so you can finally play a properly working version of the race I'll sort the original file, merge the two, then post a new link to the 2nd post to replace the one there now. Again, thanks for handing this off to me. I really like this race. So it's quite surprising to me that no one else offered to fix it long before this. And thanks for the heads up thermaltake. Trykz

I've been concerned about using that mod because of the bugs listed on the Nexus Site. But, if most people are using it and you (Trykz) recommend it, then perhaps I should give it a try once my new computer arrives.

Guest Vendayn Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Well, the only thing I ran into...was there was quite an obvious neck seam with CBBE textures + CBBEv3 meshes. I think I used the right files, so thought I would give you a heads up. Unless it is on my end, but all the other textures and meshes work together with no seams or anything. That being CBBLE and UNP. In any case...I actually really like the UNPB you included. It is really detailed and more my style. Too bad there is so little armor/clothing for it. But, I guess it is newer, so hopefully it catches on. And also, if you weren't already aware. You may need to update UNPB for 1.6 though (and maybe other custom bodies will need to be updated too), when that patch is out. According to the UNPB comments (the mod was just updated very recently), it fixes horse combat and does some other things. Right now the UNPB patch is just an optional file, since 1.6 is still in beta. The patch isn't compatible with FNIS either, so I guess it still needs time to develop. 1.6 is still in testing anyway. (edit) Actually, think 1.6 was already released for Skyrim and Steam didn't tell me it updated.
