Did you change your mediafire settings to private? That's what the website is telling me when I try to download your mods. Shame, because I really wanted to try them, but I'm sure you have your reasons.

Yes.

And my apologies for the inconvenience. But there is currently an issue that may very well affect ALL race mods that used the RaceCompatibility program during construction. You can read my posts here and here for a better idea of what's going on.

As soon as I can get confirmation that the file in question isn't as necessary as I suspect, I'll repost all my finished race mods at once with new links in the first post of this thread. Unfortunately, Expired doesn't seem to check his program page very frequently.

Thanks, and I again apologize for the inconvenience.....

That is a Bummer, So I am curious then does it happen to a game with all your race mods included in the game, or does it happen to when only 1 of your races are included in it... Because if it streams from race to race..I wonder if other customizable races will experience the same issue..Because Theres no reason in having multiple races mod really unless a NPC mod like SMS requires a certain race mod. For instance. Running your Moon elves along side having the Ashen Installed as well. . I will have to see if my moonelf suddenly turns into a Ashen :) varient when bitten.

Nice new Races! Thanks for sharing. :D

I have only one question: To remove the tatoos, can I just exchange the texture with that of the other races or will it neckseam? And what's the name of the texture of the moonshadow elves?

Okay, that were technically three questions. Sorry. ^^

My guess is, it will affect ANY race mod built under the RaceCompatibility and GenericRaceController programs, as those are what utilize the script to dynamically add custom races to headparts formlists (assuming you have multiple custom race mods installed). Apparently, since the 1.5 patch broke hundreds of housing mod navmeshes, others have been experiencing this issue as well.

The moment I removed the script from my scripts folder, vampire transformations worked perfectly, and nothing really changed. But my test character was actually a vampire, but without the facial deformation and change in skintone and eyes. But vampire spells and abilities were added as normal.

It's for that reason I suspect the PlayerVampireQuestScript.pex file is coupling race mods when it dynamically adds the race to multiple headparts formlists in ALL races. But why it seems to target the previously installed race instead of the current race is something I suspect Bethesda changed that broke the script.

Hello Trykz,

Just wanted to throw in my support for your work here. I was a huge fan of the Moonshadow Elves back in Oblivion. Only character I've ever stuck to long enough to finish all the quests and sidequests. suffice it to say, I was very excited when I randomly saw a screenshot of one for Skyrim. It's great to see that you've taken on the task of bringing them over to Skyrim and to see my favorite race make a return.

It's unfortunate that I was a few days late on that download (I don't intend to do the vampire thing) but I'll be eagerly awaiting your reuploads once the issues are sorted. Looking forward to remaking my old character and adventuring around Skyrim like I did in Oblivion back then. Thank you for the work you've done. :)

I'm with Arrionso with everything he has said ....ive never played a vampire on any char not my thing but to each his own.

Looking forward to being able to re-dl these and using them as intended along with your new ones

There's an issue with the races concerning being turned into a vampire so the mod author has the dl's set to private until he can fig out the issue ....sadly youre going to have to wait til it gets sorted out and he re-releases the races.

As stated multiple times in this, as well as my other threads, ALL downloads have been set to private while I work out a few issues that didn't arise until after installing multiple race mods.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay,

I took a little bit and retested the Kerran Sharr vampire transformation WITH the script copied back into my scripts folder.

And here's where things get VERY confusing:

I copied out a save from my latest test character, which is actually a "legit" character I started normally through the Helgen stages from vanilla character creation and start. To facilitate expedient testing, I usually start a test character on The Asteria, as the mod contains no npcs, or scripted material of any kind.

I first tested without the PlayerVampireQuestScript.pex file in the scripts folder, and manually added the vampire disease to my character through the console and waited. Just as previously tested (on my Asteria test character), the transformation worked perfectly, but without the vampire morph. However, I found another issue that is simply unacceptable:

I couldn't feed.

So, here's what I tried next:

I put the PlayerVampireQuestScript.pex file back into my scripts folder, deleted ALL but the first save I copied out, and manually added the vampire disease again. But this time.....

It worked.

My character indeed transformed into the correct vampire race variant, even with ALL of my other races enabled.

EVERYTHING worked as normal. The vampire facial morph, the lightened skintone, and feeding.....

I have a few things to do, and then I'll test the Morthal quest to reverse the vampirism. If that works correctly, I'll reset the files for download, and add the Kerran Sha'rr mod to the second post this evening.

Fingers crossed.

Be back a bit later,

Okay,

this is all very perplexing. EVERYTHING works normally now, just as it would for any vanilla race.

Ultimately, this IS the desired outcome. So I'll be making the currently posted links public again, so they can be downloaded. I'll add the Kerran Sha'rr mod later tonight after I finish what I need to get done today.

It seems to me, that it was either an issue with the alternate start, or just some random glitch caused by load order or something.

In the event of a potential load order issue, I'll be posting my recommended load order list for all of my race mods in the first post later tonight when I add the Kerran Sha'rr mod for download. However, to be completely safe and avoid any potential conflicts when playing a specific race for any length of time, my TOP recommendation will be to disable ALL other race mods while playing ANY given race, regardless of whether I created the mod or not.

The currently posted mods will be available for download within a few minutes of this post.

And again, my apologies for the inconvenience, as well as my thanks for your patience.....

I started a new moonshadow elf and I seem to be missing the racial ability. It's night time and I'm still the same. Am I missing a racial potion or something like the demoness?

Thank you SO much for this race mod, imo this mod makes the best looking elf characters atm. Truly superb job!

The only thing I noticed is that the head isn't glossy like the body, even though I have the right specular map. And the head mesh's specular setting is correct as well. Any ideas why this is?

And thanks again!

The CTD is caused by too many mods running at once while outdoors during character creation. It's a known flaw in the game engine' date=' that's existed for quite a while. If you use hi-rez textures (such as for body replacers, armor, worldspace, etc.), it causes the game engine to hog most of your processor power while in showracemenu (the initial character creation screen is a scripted version of that, which doesn't require a console command to enter). Which is why many modders will tell you to be indoors before using the showracemenu console command.

This is why Helgen sucks so bad as a starting point for the main questline. Texture resolutions explode outdoors, and the game engine simply can't take it. Especially if you're running with ENB. Helgen is part of the outdoor Tamriel worldspace. So starting there is essentially the same as starting [b']outside[/b] of Whiterun.

The "quick fix" is to just disable any mods you don't absolutely need running until after you at least enter Helgen Keep with Ralof or Hadvar. This includes everything that alters textures on anything at all. Armor, characters and npcs, worldspace, etc..

Once you create your character and exit the Helgen outdoor space, you can quickly log out, re-enable everything, and carry on as normal from there on.

I'm looking into an alternate start method that still utilizes the initial Helgen material, which will simply move character creation to an indoor area, then carry on as normal after that. If I can't find a method for that, I may try placing the entire Helgen starting area (including the cart ride) inside it's own outdoor worldspace, much like the major cities.

Lastly, if you run a mod that alters the timescale in ANY way, disable it until after you are completely through the Helgen tutorial and out of the tunnel. Ralof AND Hadvar BOTH use timed scripts that are VERY sensitive to timescale adjustments. And any alteration of that scale will surely have you standing around waiting for them to do something.

This happens when you move the complexion slider.

But there are 3 separate _s.dds textures. (femalehead_s.dds and MSfemalehead_s.dds) If you replaced ANY textures at all, you need to create three gloss laters to replace. Take the gloss layer you're using and make a copy. Rename it MSFemalehead_s.dds, and put both into the main female folder in the mod directory. You also need to be using the same femalehead_s.dds gloss layer in your main folder as well.

It's an issue I can't figure out, but I believe is a conflict cause by the mod not having it's own standalone body meshes, so the textures are getting crossed up with those in the vanilla folders. I intend to rebuild BOTH versions of the mod to be just like my other races, which are fully standalone.

I don't really know what effects this will have on existing characters, but I assume they likely won't work unless you switch to the Nord race, log out and remove the old mod, install the new version and then switch to the new version of the race.

In fact, I think I'm going to place everything else on hold and get this done. Give me a few days and I should be able to have both version of the mod replaced with standalone bodies. Most of the work is already done, so it's just a matter adding the body meshes and pointing the textures to them. It's my most popular race mod yet, so it certainly deserves the extra TLC.

Are you using ENB?

If you are, you'll need to disable it until after character creation. I had the exact same problem as long as my ENB was enabled. Just hold Shift and press F12 before you enter the character creation screen. I disabled mine during the cart ride, and everything worked fine with no other mods running (but DON'T disable RaceCompatibility.esm, as it's a master file for the race).

Keep me posted if it doesn't work, and I'll look into the mod itself.

LOL.....

I'll try and get a look into the mod by this evening. It's likely something simple that I forgot to set up before I assembled the package.

ENB Huh..Shift F12.. alright I'll try it :) thanks for the info. I'll see if it works.

Edit: :( didn't work for me either. darn it. It looks smooth on your screen shots though.

Edit: after reading that last post about CTD being caused by too many mods and being outdoors..I have an idea, the alternate start, starts you indoors during the character creation..lets see if that works. Less activity out there only you and your character.

Edit: Continueing the Trouble shoot. Alternate start didn't work either...where you start in a cell ENB off mods off didn't work either.
