anyone know if there's a known glitch that's causing dick traits to start randomly appearing on women?

 

it's happened twice now.  first time I thought it was due to loading up new DLC.  this time it seems to have happened midgame.  all the sudden a bunch of adult women in the world get the traits, seemingly randomly.

 

I've not seen it, but I've not played too far in. When you say mid-game, about how many years in is that? A generation, three?

 

 

I have just encountered the same glitch. It appears to give random female children (at least those are the only ones I have seen it applied to so far) at the around the age of 3-5. I have so far only encountered it with two children, however I'm only four years into my current game. I did some quick digging around in the different event files for each submod and failed to see anything that could cause this. The only thing I can think of is paradox changed a command that was used in an event somewhere which is causing the issue.

 

Edit: Not ten minuets after writing this comment a bunch of female courtiers (without the futa trait) spawned with varying dick sizes and preexisting courtiers are also getting the trait slapped on them.

now that you mention it, the behavior seemed different both times around.  first time, I can pretty much chalk it up to loading new DLC.  I fire up the save and a bunch of women, and most of my daughters (not sure how many, though at least as many as there are duchies in the empire brittannia and iceland) suddenly have dicks.  ruined the game, which sucked because my oldest daughter was really starting to go crazy launching slave raids on everyone as vicerine of england and actually picked her own son/brother for betrothal.  ck2.

 

anyway, second time was arguably much weirder.  didn't happen to nearly as many women as the first time around and seemed to happen extremely randomly, also didn't impact any children.  it wasn't an adulthood trigger, either, since a lot of the women I'd had "previous dealings" with and knew their background.  as I understand, dick assignment is done by event which I assume should try and filter by gender.  makes me wonder if something introduced by patches is wiping character gender information?  this seems like something that would be lower level than what a mod conflict could cause.

 

edit: this is first occured within the first generation of the earliest start date, if that's any help.  I don't think there's inheritance effects in play because a lot of the women who experienced this started as the 16 year old autogenned lowborns that are common early in the game.  I don't know how the pregnancy mechanics work with the direct action bonking commands like spend time, visit, etc..., but combined with other mods like the satanism one, which can give you significant boosts in fertility and ready access to concubines, it's possible to pump out insane numbers of children.

Though also good on you for showing the only facts that you go on are the ones you pull out of your ass. Dew got on multiple times to inform people he was alive and said he didn't plan on abandoning the mod. At least I had a link that literally said abandoned. Just going back a few pages shows Dew regularly giving updates on his situation.

 

 

So in your world seeing an old thread for a submod is equal to the information the submod is abandoned as a whole? And that false conclusion is enough reason for you to spread rumors?

If you had gone by that old thread you didn't even bother to newly open the thread as the very first anyone would see is a link to the actual modpage.

Just so you know the 'abandoned' in the title is referring to the thread itself and not in any way, shape or form to the mod.

For folks getting the odd issue where women are spawning penises at random, I recommend you remove/delete all of the Dark World mods, and then add them back in.

 

The traits shouldn't be getting randomly assigned (the trait has a random = no) and the event that assigns a penis trait checks to ensure it's a male or a female with the futa trait before assigning one.

 

So far, I've been unable to reproduce the issue myself. If you still get the issue, sharing your starting period, number of years in, CK2 version number, and all the mods that you've enabled would be helpful in potentially looking further into the issue.

Going into this mod setup I assumed I would get bugs. If it helps you though I noticed that bug earlier today. I started earliers start date, custom ruler, into werewolf start. Let me know if there's anything else to add, my setup might not be very helpful as I'm sure there's lots of conflicts.

I'm getting the same issue with the chicks growing dicks in the middle of the game.  I didn't notice it being wide spread or anything.  Only mod I share other than the DW ones is Ruler Designer Unlocked! Maybe that's what's causing the bug?

Just had it happen again.  This time I had hentai installed as well.  Didn't notice anything weird with the balls and other added parts.

 

Running 2.6.1.1, all expansions installed, all expansions activated except Reaper's Due, because even the middle ages didn't have a third of people dying of CANCER at 16.  Anyway, mods:

Early start period, less than 10 years in.  The effected women were mostly in their 20s, 23 seemed like the most common age.  I did see some 30-somethings and a 71 as well.  No children.  This wasn't like a gradual thing either, seemed to happen all at once or at least fast enough that a bunch of women got dicks before I noticed.

 

 

Looking at Praz-El's setup, the only thing that stands out is Sketchy Cheat Menu, though I have no idea why that would cause problems.  I didn't  have unlocker installed the previous time it happened, so mod conflicts are pretty narrow.

Well, for the first question the answer is no, not just adults. I've been curious as to what a futanari ruler would be like, so I've been trying to build lineages around that when playing little sessions (with little success). In my last run when my 2 year old daughter succeeded my first generation ruler I noted she had none, however while keeping an eye on her and her sister a penis had appeared for the sister around age 11 and her at around age 16. I'm not sure why they've been popping up (and it should be noted that the lineage for that run did not have any notable traits on the mother's side because the run had just started so the daughter was the 2nd generation), and have not been able to note any correlation between age and the sudden appearance of the dick.

 

The mods I have been running are the main dw mods, with occasional bouts of hentai, christianity, and arglwydd. Regardless of the combination (of full set + h, c, and/or a) or using only the dw mods the odd bug continues to persist. In fact on one of my 200-300 year long games that only used the main set I noticed that every woman had attained a dick and any that didn't eventually did.

Well, if it's running it multiple times, then that's a major issue. Enough that I'd say fuck it until Paradox fixes things, as that means the events are not only ignoring the sex/trait checks, but also the flag check as well that's supposed to ensure that it only gets checked once.

 

I'm not wanting to add another yearly pulse update, as I feel like the mod is already cumbersome enough on it's annual processing. Too much annual processing and oddities crop up as the system tries to deal with so many different things.

 

Which could be the issue people are seeing now. I've not look at the new diseases, but if all that's hitting on an annual pulse, combined with mine, and what was already there, then it could simply be too much for the game to handle.

 

As it is, I've an attempt at a fix that I'm going to post. It doesn't add another event, instead on the events that assign dick traits, I've included a check that should dump a woman or non-futa out of the event before the dick assignment takes place. So even if a woman finds her way into the event past the pre-trigger and trigger stage, the immediate block now also has a chance to boot them out.

 

I'll be posting it here shortly after I run it through Validator.

 

Edit: also - 2.62 is supposed to hit this Thursday, so if the update I post doesn't correct it, I'm not going to sweat it until we see what their 2.62 fixes/breaks.

From the sounds of the latest post on it, it sounds like "Dick check" or whatever it's called, the one that checks to see if a trait ALREADY exists, and doesn't put a new one on if it DOES, isn't working. If that's not working in that respect, it might also be failing to properly take gender into account. This being a working theory, that would be the first place to look to see if the problem is in the mod itself. Now, given Dewguru knows more about this than me, he might (probably) already checked this. The fact that each size is a separate trait entirely, and the bug appears to be removing the previous one and replacing it with a different one according to canthics..... well, that's not even supposed to occur, the coding has a line specifically to PREVENT multiple dick traits appearing.

 

I'm not sure if this helps or not, but I think I remember seeing something in a recent patch notes mentioning something about them changing how the flags were checked or how they worked or something. The only other thing I can think of is completely useless, but i have a minor chuckle thinking about it..... The Futa-ning! like the happening, only everyone gets a dick..... a new epidemic?

 

Edit: As I was typing, Dew responded. I completely forgot the possibility of a yearly pulse check on the epidemics. Though i've seen them start on various days within months, so I don't think it's an annual check for those.

In theory, when someone gets a dick via the event, they're supposed to also get a flag called dw_junk_checked. Please see if said flag is there.

In theory, when someone gets a dick via the event, they're supposed to also get a flag called dw_junk_checked. Please see if said flag is there.

yeah, whole thing could be a load issue with having such a far reaching check pulse.  Game might be grabbing character info asynchronously and whatnot and choking out before the dickification completes properly.

 

If this is possible, instead of a yearly pulse to catch everyone at once, maybe dickification should only fire the first time the character would theoretically "use" his dick, i.e. on marriage/concubine/lover/tumble etc, pretty much whenever the virgin trait would be lost or events where the male has a chance of impregnating a female.  This way dicks get introduced gradually instead of all at once, and only at moments where the game appears to be able to get genders right (no dudes have gotten pregnant so far).  Makes thematic sense too.  Rumors about the dude's package starts flying the first time it gets unwrapped as opposed to the universal coming-of-age dick revealing at age 16.

 

Also, could the Futa code be causing unpredictable behavior if we don't have that part installed?  I don't use that part of the mod at all, could it be interpretting the afflicted women as Futas and giving them dicks despite them not having the trait (or the trait being non-existent)?  Just to be clear, none of the affected women had a visible Futa trait, but I don't know what that trait is supposed to look like, whether it's visible or hidden etc.

Hrm. I wish I was able to reproduce it. Still no luck, and if the flag isn't there, and if the new version doesn't stop it, then that means it's highly unlikely the DW Core event that's the issue at all.

 

So it's either a conflict somewhere or shitty trait handling by the current CK2 version.

 

I mentioned this before and don't know if folks followed the direction - but I highly recommend purging your mod folder and simply reinstalling the mods too.

 

I'm also not going to worry about it for the time being. Like I mentioned previously, they've a major patch that's slated to come out on Thursday (2.62) and if it's an issue on Paradox's end, perhaps it'll fix it.

Have you also tried new games?... since 2.6 and since the 2.6 compat DWcore.. i had started a new game.. and while I somewhat micro manage the females under my games/chars dynasty.. i havnt really seen this either.. Although I did custom edit some of the trait stuff, but its still mainly original plus DW's, and sketchy's.  I have a few more in, but not much and none that interfere with DW's.   But i do wonder.. when i first loaded a up a game post 2.6, but pre DW 2.6.. just because of the new traits added by CK 2.6.. yea that caused alot of hassle.. hence me restarting.. AGAIN.. but the build up is half the fun.     I have a feeling its a lot of tainted game info because of either pre 2.6 and/or dirty mod upgrades.

If you go back a step from your mod folder, there should be a folder called logs. Inside it is a file called error.log that you can view in a text editor. Can you see if there is anything in it?

 

Dark World shouldn't be generating anything, but if you're getting errors, then your core game itself may have an issue. It isn't unheard of, and even a couple folks in this thread over time haven't been able to fix an issue until they did a Steam validate files thing, or even uninstall and then reinstall CK2. I've had to do a Steam file validation myself before, and sure enough, it found issues with the default CK2 game and had to reacquire a pair of files.

Yeah, I'll probably have to do steam validation. On a sidenote, what would I be looking for specifically in the log folder? If specifically error.log then the only thing in there is this.

If I recall correctly, the "DW Toska" submod has quite a few bugs/glitches that are being worked on.

Try disabling that mod, then start a new game.

Yeah, I stopped using it because when I first started using the mod I was using it alongside hentai and noticed some strange things. It turned out it was related to hentai, not toska, but regardless I haven't really used it a whole lot. I tend to cycle between a combination of the main mod set, hentai, and arglwydd.
