What mods do you want now that you've played Fallout 4?

Alternate start mod that completely removes all traces of Shaun from the game. I don't want the option to mention him through dialogue, see him or even read about him.

Here is my biggest mod request for the game.  

 

The Inventory

The whole inventory needs a major change. In Bethesda’s latest games the inventory is terrible.

In Fallout 4, Skyrim and Fallout 3 you cannot see how your character looks, without closing down the inventory menu, and zoom-out.

You should be able to see what your character is wearing in your inventory menu, when you change your gear. 

In Fallout 1 and 2 you were able to see your character in the inventory.

Oblivion had a bit of it too.

But it could also be nice if there were "item slots", so you could see if any item where missing (ex. Armor for left leg).

New games like the Witcher 3 have "item slots".

And this is currently the most simple and customer friendly way to do it

 

 

Another big issue is that you can’t sort your items properly.

There should be made some sub categories for each main category.

For example when you click "Weapons" your should be able choose sub categories like -->

 

All--Unarmed--Melee--Pistols--Rifles--Laser--Plasma--heavy guns--Unique 

    

This would make it a lot easier to find what you were looking for in the inventory.

The reason behind this is simply - by creating a menu that shows all the items slot, it makes it much harder to create additional slots for a variety of new mods which use custom items.  A good example is in Skyrim with the Devious devices allowing you to stack not only your clothes, gear but the restraints as well. This is way more than the vanilla game was capable of.

Not really a problem, the holographic item previews you can see in the trade menu will do the trick.

Btw I really want a mod that turn those to normal previews, shouldn't be hard to achieve I suppose, it only makes the normal model glow I guess?, like how the furnitures glow before you place them in the settlements.

From there the problem stay the same as for Skyrim, people still need to make world models for their items in their mods.

 

The amount of work to achieve this though... (support drag & drop, menu creating new slots if the menu is almost full, creating different sizes for weapons that will take multiple slots etc...)

That's why I am currently working on this:

It does not allow you to see any additional pictures, but it gives you much more information than the in-game pipboy (or the companion app) without the need to select all item to see their stats, and allows sorting and filtering.

 

Actually it's already finished, just needs some more testing and tweaking.

And I'll third it. Even the UI that came with Skyrim was better than the one FO4 has. There are already mods that try to bring back something like the Sky UI, from modders not associated with that team, but so far they're awkward and still buggy. And definitely an overhaul of the Settlement workshop; I'm calling bullshit on Bethesda that they truly spent months "debugging" or even did any beta testing.

 

As for face and body sculpting...well, my own efforts result in things best left undescribed. But others do miracles so definitely want that.

New models might sound too extreme. I just wish that there is a mod that lets you build a new power armor from all the armor parts you have (or at least provides you a way to craft a power armor frame). Can't believe Beth didn't include that in the main game.

-Repair all that's broken on the Settlement with 1 key.

-A NPC to trade 10 (unused) fusion cores for 1 perk. (for those that don't like power armor have some kind of reward).

Better use of the Minutemen. Really feels like a missed opportunity. It seems Garvey wasn't the last Minuteman. Turns out the player is.

 

I'd love for there to be a purpose to being a general. Recruit Minutemen and assign them to settlements. This way they can handle those annoying Radiant quests, OR you can decide to go on one should you wish.

 

That would be good. I have the radio requests coming and it doesn't matter where on the map it is, im the only minute man that responds - that doesn't make sense since a lot of settlements have joined and I have at least 8 settlers at each settlement.

 

I would also like to see minutemen patrols going around.

 

 

 

 

 

Can I also add I would love to see vehicles.  Have minutemen driving around in APCs from military bases rigged to run on gas.  Same with the brotherhood of steel.  I would love to have a bike with a side car or maybe even a off road buggy.

I switched off Minutemen radio, and thus halved the amount of Minutemen radiant quests. Still would love to get rid of the rest. Oh, and I want my Classic Channel back. Any way in console to restart it after the little accident at the Institute?

 

Another thing I'd really want: in Skyrim, when I have the console open and click an NPC or object, I get a lot of information. In FO4, it only gives an ID, so I'm *never* sure I actually clicked the right thing (untill it's too late)

Limit weapons you can carry by 2. 

1 Big (2-hand) and 1 Small (1 hand)

 

and display those 2 weapons in your character. Big weapon in the back, small weapon in the hip.

I need hardcore mode, all this food and water. It keeps putting me off  the game and I don't think I'll get fully invested into it until the GECK and this is introduced. Also need Nuka cola bottle replacers, I'm a sucker for the classic coke bottle design. 

 

R91 Assault rifle to replace the current one would be great too. I'm not so much a fan of ingame guns getting replaced by modern weapons or even certain ones from the same 50s period. They just look out of place tbh.

I want better romance with perks that make sense, except with that LL twist. I think Cait should be a bit more dominant seeing as how she was a fighter and heavy drug user. It would make for a fun BDSM story. Like she starts out submissive until

you cure her

, then she goes all dominant. Like even to the point of her saying "I'm tired of being the submissive one. Now it's your turn." and then showing you how dominant she really is.

 

I wouldn't care if she wasn't voiced. I would also love the idiot choices to come back. You could even play as though she hit you in the head and know you're dumb or cryo sleep screwed you up. More RP choices are sorely needed.

My preferred mods would mostly be related to weaponry modification, which I feel is lacking and just a shadow of what it should be.

 

1. Mounted light mod for firearms that switch on when aiming down sights. I feel this would provide a bit more tension when exploring dark areas than having an omni-directional pip boy light or wasting an armor slot to equip a mining helmet.

 

2. Underbarrel attachments for some guns. This could include but not be limited to the double barrel shotgun, bayonet, ___RIPPER___.

 

3. See Above about bayonet. Make this a damn underbarrel attachment and not a muzzle replacement.

 

4. More caliber conversions. I have an affinity for pistols and would enjoy a 10mm pistol chambered in .45 or even .44 Magnum with the appropriate changes to capacity and recoil.

 

5. Weapon finishes. Add some options to the crafting menu allowing swapping of finishes on different parts. A stainless 10mm with a cherry grip? Why not? Perhaps even go as far as changing lighting effects in some weapons. Tired of the boring red lighting effects on the laser musket? Give it a rainbow color scheme.

 

Most, if not all of these would require the GECK and most likely a script extender. I feel that #1-4 would allow us to craft more versatile weaponry that may even cut down on the number of different weapons some carry for different situations. Number 5 of course would just be for personalization.

I wonder why are there no Binoculars included in the game that you can find or craft at a Bench.I can always switch to my Sniper rifle and zoom in or out but

it wold be really nice to have a pair. Doesnt matter if self made or from Pre War time.

I'm fully on board with everything I've seen here. There's only one thing I'm missing, linked settlement cells. Let me explain.

 

In Sanctuary there's a storm cellar under one of the houses. In Red Rocket, there's the trash cavern. The Castle has the cellar area linking the General's quarters and the Armory. Home Plate in Diamond City has the small area near the front door where the PA Harness is and the rooftop near the bedroom hatch. These areas are all technically part of the settlement yet inaccessible to the workshop, and I for one would like to do something with these spaces. The cellar in Sanctuary would make a good settler-proof player home, the one in the Castle would make a good Power Armor vault, the Red Rocket cavern has some prime salvage, and I just want to put some turrets up outside Home Plate to cause some chaos in Diamond City for giggles n shits.

An alternate start that begins in "The Institute". The character you create in the creation screen isn't the character you start with but the character you become while in the Institute. You start as a Gen 3 Synth. One of the scientists has a little plane of his or her own (depending on the sex of your character) "Male scientist, Female you" Female scientist, Male you". all tying into the eventual Fallout sex framework. He or She is building his or her own sex doll-(synth) eventually word gets out and orders are given to terminate said "Synth" and Scientist.

Liam Binet (Patriot) finds out and scrambles to get you out of the institute before the Coursers can get to you. Now enters the Railroad, not having yet been programmed for sex (and the railroad not knowing that was the intent of the scientist) your character is a bit out of touch, in walks smart guy Deacon and suggests you be sent to Dr. Amari at the memory den.

You hand over a holotape and it is assumed it is the standard synth routine (actually being an in depth reprogramming in the art of sexual pleasure). Once placed in the lounger the process is begun and takes a few hours to complete. a few questions later and your sent back to the Railroad. once outside you flee and elude Deacon and wind up bumping into Hancock, after being questioned he steers you toward the "Third Rail" to ask Whitechapel Charlie for work. And so begins your Fallout corruption.

And if you really believe the Fifties (well, 1964 World's Fair) wouldn't have included this even in the deepest social undergrounds, then I've got real estate to sell you.

I agree on better romances. I mean, romances that go beyond number cruniching and perk hunting. Jealousy would be nice. And same sex relationships fitting the character.

 

I mean, I can go with Cait, Piper even, to be bi or lesbian. But I can't imagine Curie to go down that road. I can also imagine Preston to be gay, but I can't imagine McGready or Danse to be into men. Well, maybe Danse, brotherhood and all.
