What mods do you want now that you've played Fallout 4?

Having read through the thread, it seems a recurring theme is settlements and how 'alive' the world as a whole feels. So, I threw together a compilation of what's been said on the thread. Also, I'm throwing in links to mods that already exist that cover some of these issues. I'm limiting myself as best I can to NOT going into more detail on stuff.

Better Settlements

compilation of ideas, requests and comments

Generic Quality of Life, Settlement Management

More decoration, more structure things, more windows, fix the goddamn snapping Jesus Christ. Scrap leaves, bushes etc. Mod that alerts you when settlements are under attack. Decorative items not counting so much to settlement Size limits. Hmm, I can have a turret or a bedside lamp! Rename settlers. Some sort of UI to assign settlers jobs / see who is unassigned.

Rewards for Development, Expanded Functionality

More rewards and functionality for upgrading settlements. Get NPCs to do stuff for you, or make/gather stuff that you can’t. Some sort of potential to train up guards and their defences so Turret Spam isn’t the be-all-end-all of defence. Potential to train ALL settlers to be more efficient at what they do. Send settlers out to scavenge for materials – make gearing them worthwhile.

Real People! Families! Skillsets! Alternative productions!

Add children and old people to settlements. Have settlers with skill-sets and preferences for work. Assign people to cooking to produce food as well as farming.

Faction Themed Settlements, Faction Bases

Depending on reputation with factions and plot progression, you gain access to decorations to theme your settlements. Maybe change who settles there? Instead of making a settlements for settlers, make a forward base for the Brotherhood, or an Institute surface base. If more mods support it, become a raider base. Faction themed settlers, too.

More Settlement Locations

Settlements inside their own cells. Inside abandoned vaults, inside caves, maybe inside a shopping mall or train station. Trade lines with existing settlements needed for food.

Resource Changes and Sources

Tin cans can't make steel beams. Maybe something with the Quarries to get concrete. Send settlers out to gather wood in rural settlements, out to scavenge to gather metals in urban settlements.

Character Related

character related stuff

Alternate Start

Because I'm not a goddamn lawyer! Would a Lawyer emerge from the Vault and immediately go full murder-hobo? Probably not.  Let the female PC have a military background too. Did I even emerge from the vault? Maybe I just really REALLY hate the Institute for capturing a family member. It's a similar storyline route.

Immersive First Person

Also a must for lewdery.

Save-able Presets and Sliders

As 'shiny' as the new character generation system is, some stuff could definitely benefit from sliders (e.g. the scrollwheel stuff). Also, it'd be really nice to be able to safe presets for our characters.

RaceMenu

To allow you to re-jig your character without a shifty surgeon in Diamond City.

Immersion and World Related

the wasteland is grey and dead in more than a few ways

Survival Mods - Eat, Sleep, Drink, Others

C'mon, F:NV had it build-in! The ability to set up camp wherever (sleeping bags), diseases, thirst, temperature, hunger.

Raider Factions and Gunners

Bring back the F:NV system of multiple warring raider factions. And let's actually flesh out the gunners a bit. Maybe we can find their 'shop' where they DON'T try to kill you. They're mercs, they must have one somewhere. Maybe be able to BRIBE them to not attack you for a week. Maybe PAY them to guard settlements.

More Consequences

Racking up a gambling debt? Piss someone off? Let's bring back those hit-man squads from Skyrim that seek you out because you stole a sweet roll.

Earn Your Place

"Lol you're a knight now."  "K. Brotherhood 4 eva." Rhys, for all he's a douche, is at least closer to realistic than Elder Maxson. Make you EARN that Power Armor, or at least do some arbitrary training to prove you know how to use it... even if you CAN just Science check out of it, "Yeah, I know it." They're not just going to hand out some of their most powerful tech to someone that hasn't been through training for it.

Sex, Drugs, Rock and Roll

Where are the junkies? Apart from a certain companion, I haven't seen people in the gutters of streets begging for drugs. Sure, there's some named people, but you'd think it would be more common. Maybe they lurch out at people in cities and have to be put down. Will suck cock for Jet.

NPC / Companion Interraction

As mentioned, Piper doesn't even recognise her sister when she goes into the city. NPCs could react more to the world around them. Also, prioritise comments RELEVANT TO THE AREA when talking to companions. When I ask what they think, I want to know about it in relation to where I am or what I'm doing. I shouldn't have to talk 5 times before Danse comments about the radiation in the Glowing Sea.

More Talking

It'd be nice to have more opportunities to talk your way out of things, around things, and make compromises. The game suffers from 'Black and White' syndrome. By contrast, F:NV had more options for talking and reaching compromises.

More Creatures

While this may not ENTIRELY fit with Lore, the Commonwealth seems a little creature-lite. I miss the low level Geckos from F:NV. It's just humans, all day every day. Also, lewdery.

Quality of Life

it's the little things

VATs Improvement

Accurate predictions of ACTUAL damage, not guestimated damage.

Scrap and Go

Scrap junk on the go, or at the crafting stations dotted around the world.

Show Me!

Items in the inventory and crafting display AS THEY WILL LOOK, not as holograms.

Armor Pigments

Polymer combat armor is nice and all, but does it HAVE to be bright white?

General Lewdery

check the URL

Defeat

'Cause nothing suits an unforgiving world of monstrous rapists than the potential to join in... willing or otherwise.

Kinky BDSM

"The Brotherhood sure knows how to take the fun out of wearing rivets and leather" Furniture, games...

Slavery, Prostitution, General Sexytimes

The good old staples of adult games.

This is going to sound weird, but ...

Every time I see one of those assaultron driods, I'm reminded of the girls in the video for Robert Palmer's Addicted To Love. I don't know why; probably because they were so blank and emotionless in the video.

So I have this truly perverse urge to dress four of them up in mini-skirts, and then give them electric guitars so I can re-create the video, Institute-Style. Probably stick Nick Valentine in the middle and dress him in a goodneighbour suit so he can mime the vocals.

Hey, I never said it was sexy-weird; it's just weird. What can I say? These things occur to me :)

I would love a mod the makes more feminine looking power armor.  When you are in the Brotherhood of steel in Fallout 4, There is No way of telling if a Female NPC in power armor is a female until you try to talk to them.

Like F3 more music on the stations, F3 had mods to add more but lets not just add them why not find the disc's in the jucke box's and other places and sell them to the stations. I guess the hard part wil be can you activate/enable tracks to be played in game ?

A joke would be to add a cache of 8 traks with stuff on them that has copyright (Beatles,Elvis etc) so we could not actual use it (with out having rude letters in RL from suits and the mod being taken down)  and the comment from the DJ about lost music when you try to hand it in /sell it

You know what I'd like? I'd like to find a cryo-tube somewhere containing Clover from F3. Especially if she's hooked into the affinity system. Every time you slap a collar on some raider chick: "Clover likes  that". Force your attentions on someone who was shooting at you? "Clover likes that". Hell, force yourself on Clover and you'll probably get "Clover likes that".

What's she doing in the deep-freeze? Hell if I know. Maybe either Eulogy or the Lone Wanderer finally got fed up with her saying "Can I have a bigger gun?"

Alternate Start and a way to totally gimp the Main Quest from ever starting. Ambitiously, I'd be thrilled to see a group of modders come together and write their own new main questline with improved dialogue and skill/perk/stat checks so as to allow players to still be able to access the content that's locked away behind quest lines. That would be unprecedented in a Bethesda game though. Total conversions are one thing, but I don't think anybody has pushed a fan retcon before beyond small plotpoints (like the Parthunaax Dilemma).

Basically this.

The entire Main Quest is just a bad joke.  It removes any actual roleplaying, and totally breaks down around the middle or end of act 2.  Basically, it is just very poorly written, and very unimaginative.

THIS!  Screw rewriting the main quest, I want THIS!

Yeah it would be nice if there were reasons to keep returning to the vault 111 to unfreeze others there perhaps as pieces in the puzzle, you needed to use Fusion cores to revive them or something or to keep them alive.

I'd like the option to offer the female hostiles, usually raiders, mercy when they are beaten down.   I realise they are probably all thieving murdering scum.  but one or two of them maybe worth saving.  I would like to offer them the chance to become a contributing member of the new commonwealth I am building.  failing that I would keep them as sex slaves in my dungeon.

Posted

First I'd like the toolset, GECK, what-the-fuck-ever it's going to be called so I can make my own custom plugin. Then everything Revuu above mentioned. Also something in line with SexLab Sex Slaves by Fishburger, my favorite mod ever, or at least something to make NPCs submissive masochists. Video games don't quite compare to the reality of being a Dom, but I still like the option. And it's not like there are that many video games that even explore the idea. Other than modded FONV and Skyrim, I honestly don't know of any that allow such sheer versatility and freedom.

I really just want a mod that displays a list of what a settler is assigned to when the settler is selected, so I know if everyone has a bed specifically assigned to them, or a crop, or a shop, or guard post, etc.  It's really frustrating watching my settler happiness plummet because these samey-looking bastards are too stupid to find a bed unless I specifically tell them where it is.  Fucking hell I have 20 beds to 14 settlers in Sanctuary and they still can't find one sometimes ugh!

I would like to see proper animations in 3rd person. The original ones are even worse than the skyrim ones. So, at least proper female walking and runnig animations would be great.

non-adult mods: seamless third person camera (drawing weapon doesn't zoom out and so on; tried it via ini editing, didn't work like in Skyrim, at least I guess it didn't work like in Skyrim...).

Every mod which makes the world more alive, haven't met any caravans since weeks (maybe they are all dead...). More random conflicts between factions.

Of course I want visible sheathed weapons.

adult mods: A much more rough Boston (Slavery, Cannibalism (not this cartoon animation we got (is it the same animation as in Skyrim the werewolf feed?)), different states of corpse decay (which would negatively effect happiness in settlements, you would have a reason to get rid off dead things), prostitution to pay the "bills").

And the milk of human kindness...

Edit: a complete overhaul:

-a world which works for itself, no dumb story quests; quests are randomly generated by the needs of the people (goodneighbour needs some prostitutes--> lets go hunt for some raiders; diamond city needs water --> build up trade route to one of your settlements), giving the world and the locations more sense.

-npcs have their own day night cycle, follow their interests/needs

-If you don't want to give a fuck about others, search for "treasures", raid caravans to get food and bottle-caps, exterminate whole settlements in order to survive

-there is the need for a system so this changes would be fun and entertaining, I think of a hardcore survival mod in a world without limits, just limitations in resources.

suggested mod: immersive first POV, being able to see you body when you look down.

Hell if we get the Oculus rift rift early in 2016 I'd say try and make the camera independent of the body.

Posted

I'd like more weapon variety, of all types(firearms & melee). I find myself always ending up using the same, practically OP, weapons going on two characters now.

Able to have a template for eyes and having any colour you want on that template

Dno if that's possible and I doubt it is though.

Yes, eiter a mod like this would be great or a mod that inserts some kind of "reverse" bell. When you use it, everyone goes to their assigned workstation and actually stays there until you leave the settlement again. Everyone who is not assigned flocks around the device and doesn't wander off before you can assign each of them.

And maybe a mod that better indicates why the happiness is dropping.

What I really want, don't know if it's already been mentioned, is something to make attacks on settlements not being an auto lose nuisance. If you don't move your butt there for an impending attack, your settlement gets destroyed.

I made it my business to heavily fortify Egret Tours Marina to a defense rating of 186, put everyone there in complete sets of combat armor and handed out good weaponry and ammo. Somehow missed the attack message and now everything's in ruins. That's neither enjoyable nor realistic.

Actualy for the seltement whats wanted is a way to assign one npc as a mayor once the setlement is above a size limit and let them deal with the trivial day to day crap of near maximsing happy/food/production/defence

I know exactly what you mean.

I was in the middle of a fight halfway into The Dig, when I suddenly got a message that some settlement was under attack. Obviously, it would've been destroyed by the time I got out. But, I did have a pretty recent savegame, so I tried that, and gladly didn't get another attack before I got out.

Wait, what?

... BRB, removing all gear from Settlers.

Might as well keep em geared up for those cases you're bored and just running around the common wealth, when you're actually around, geared settlers do help getting down those raiders much faster. And there's always that one raider you just can't find because he hides on the other side of the settlement. Your settlers and turrets will usually deal with that one.

I actually sometimes go help them just in the hopes there's a legendary between the attackers, just to see whether he/she/it drops something nice. The legendaries are also the one type that your settlers and turrets may have a hard time dealing with.

With the introduction of forcing people to surrender in battle i wonder what mods will do to fallout 4 something like sexlab defeat will be great addition. when point a gun at someone at close range.

Posted

More and better guaranteed legendary weapons. The Overseer's guardian is the only decent one and that is not a good design. I hate randomness with a passion.

Shotguns that are actually usefull beyond 1 cm. Also a pipe shotgun would be cool. And a more powerful sniper.

The fashion gear system from xenoblade X.

A knife for dogmeat so he can be as badass as D dog.

And a crosbow or a bow.

Here is my biggest mod request for the game.

The Inventory
The whole inventory needs a major change. In Bethesda’s latest games the inventory is terrible.
In Fallout 4, Skyrim and Fallout 3 you cannot see how your character looks, without closing down the inventory menu, and zoom-out.
You should be able to see what your character is wearing in your inventory menu, when you change your gear.

In Fallout 1 and 2 you were able to see your character in the inventory.

Oblivion had a bit of it too.
post-1018630-0-72734800-1450913704_thumb.jpg

But it could also be nice if there were "item slots", so you could see if any item where missing (ex. Armor for left leg).
Alot of games have "item slots", and a good example of a game where the inventory work perfect is "The Witcher 3".

post-1018630-0-78307300-1450913715_thumb.jpg

This is currently the most simple and customer friendly way to do it

Another big issue is that you can’t sort your items properly.
There should be made some sub-categories for each main category.
For example when you click
"Weapons" your should be able choose sub categories like --->

All--Unarmed--Melee--Pistols--Rifles--Laser--Plasma--heavy guns--Unique

This would make it a lot easier to find what you were looking for in the inventory.
