pepertje Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I'm actually curious as to where the community is employed. So here's the aim: feel free to share! Just post below what you do for a living and (if you'd want) post a picture of yourself at work. Oh, and please put your pictures in a spoiler tag I guess I'll go first, then: I'm a mailman for PostNL. Which kinda looks like this: And during Fall, it makes for some pretty scenery whenever I'm delivering mail along the edge of town: And whenever I'm not working, busy with school or modding, I'm a volunteer at a Jouth Bar, which makes for some good music whenever I'm in charge of the bar:
Suludi Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Writer, translator, fantasy map creator, proofreader, editor/lector. No pictures. ^^
Alera Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 No pictures either but I work in a warehouse as a Forklift Driver/Warehouse Operative D: Not my dream job but it pays the bills!
pinky6225 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 The exciting world of 2nd line IT support for me
Vacaliga Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Photographer/retouches but mostly light graphics design now, because fuck Instagram, smartphones and affordable SLR camera's
Guest Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I work in the IT sector (consultancy/development/etc.). Here a picture of my desk (one year ago, now it is a little bit messier.) (And, NO, no pictures of myself.)
GimmeBACON Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I work as a foreman in a small renovation company, as well as a courier delivering subpoenas and other legal documents. When the need arises, my landlord hires me to do repairs for her complex, which helps pay rent. Outside of my main jobs, I help as an assistant for my Jiu Jitsu coach in lieu of membership fees since he hasn't found a replacement and he's known me since I was 17. Not my money per se, but since it mostly goes to the same place, my girlfriend works at Walmart.
bradleyh Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 When You are at an Airport and have Your seat on Your flight, look out of the Window at the Equipment driving around the Aircraft. I maintain it for a Major Airline. Steady Paycheck, shrinking benefits, ten Years to retirement.
gregathit Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 My picture is my avatar....... Construction Industry. Chances are, you have without knowing it, been in a building I have built in the last 20 years.
pepertje Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 My picture is my avatar....... Construction Industry. Chances are, you have without knowing it, been in a building I have built in the last 20 years. Unless you've built in the Netherlands, I'd rate those chances rather small.
Chbaakal Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 My picture is my avatar....... Construction Industry. Chances are, you have without knowing it, been in a building I have built in the last 20 years. Your avatar should be my company's logo..... I work in the corrugation (cardboard) industry, running and/or assisting on several types of machines, have also been fully trained in Pre-Operative Press (supplying dies, tooling, and work orders to machines), toned/supplied inks to print machines, did a stint in Design using their CAD software, and have done maintenance and repairs to the machines I operate most. Outside of 'that' place, I've been doing medical Transcriptions, co-wrote 3 journals (working on one currently) and assist a renovation/remodeling company a few weekends a month in Kitchens and Bathrooms (mosly fixtures and pipework, some tiling and lighting) and Drywall.
Zerosleepless Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I work as a lab assistant at my college (biology department) Mostly i have to organize chemicals , reset the machines ,bring coffee at conferences , prepare the samples before the course .... In the 4 months of summer break i work (again) as an assistant at the nearby hospital , it's kind of messy because you have to adapt to what they need , sometimes i'm a nurse , sometimes i run blood/urine tests , sometimes it's paperwork . Definitely the most boring thing ever is when i have to label thousands of blood tubes I can't wait to graduate and do something more productive , i'm aiming for a pharmaceutical career.
ButchDiavolo Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I used to be (well technically still am) an accountant. Unfortunately I am now on disability due to (rather big) medical problems :-\
Chaos63 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Construction and basic mechanics. Some tourism work during the season, though I dread it. Also got a bit of inheritance from my late father's military pension, but I probably won't touch that until I have kids.
Millicent Bystander Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 I'm Systems Administrator for a Steel Company, before that I was a Database Administrator.
Swiftstep Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Hm, difficult question. My parents gave me bankbook when I was born. Wasn't much money on it, since I have 2 brothers. Not even enough for a drivers licence. But I never emptied that account - money was transfered in both directions. So, in theory, I still got the money from my parents, even though, in the meaning of financial society, that money was already replenished by my personal funds. Besides that, I work as an employee in customer care. Lot's of mending weary customers and tenting to crying colleagues.
Guest Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 You can lift my fork ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°) Dick dealer, no pictures.
BurgerBum Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 i give blow jobs to my friend for 60$ a month. (he's the son of a pastor at my family's baptist church. btw) oh and 75$ allowance. no pictures of the former, because duh and no pictured of the latter, because how boring would that be?

Vykroft Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Well I dumped my Phd because I was tired of being a fucking slave And I am now working as a private Tutor of Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Chemistry and Maths. And just because I need it (because the College doesn't pay enough) I also work at the High School level teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics. But I'm saving money because I intent to emigrate to Australia this year, and hopefully start working on something more related to my career.
Guest MonsterFish Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Usually I mug people at gunpoint. Kinda fun till you get mugged at gunpoint.
