This is the first time using MO instead of NMM, and it's not as forgiving on my messy, very customized mod list.
TheOniNinja Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 I actually find MO to be a lot more forgiving when heavily customizing a bunch of mods, though that might be because I've been using it for a while now. With NMM if I decided I no longer wanted a mod that overwrote a bunch of other mods' files I'd have to find and reinstall all the other mods it touched afterward and make damn sure I had backups of anything I'd customized myself. I've definitely lost more than one armor mashup due to NMM negligence on my part. With MO something I've found really useful to do is duplicate a mod I want to customize, make the changes I want and then delete any files I didn't touch. That way the original mod is pristine and I can alter any files I want without risking my entire mod list becoming FUBAR. Especially useful for things like temporarily swapping animobject meshes, changing SOS textures for different characters, or modifying Custom Races' meshes and textures: Downside is I now have over 700 different Mods in the left pane and they're not all so well organized as my custom races so finding my customized files can be a bit of a bitch sometimes. Well worth it though for the security and ease of managing multiple very different characters on the same race. Especially since I can just put each character's SOS textures in with their race changes and never have to worry about 'oops, I forgot to swap out my schlong textures again when changing profiles and now my vampire has a scaly, green dick'. Sorry for the wall of text, just felt like sharing a bit of info on the subject that made my modding life a whole lot easier.

I've been doing it the lazy way, changing groups of mods at a time with my custom textures and meshes. Which works until you want to try a new mod. It gets really confusing when you incorporate things like Skin mods and Unique Player Character mods on top of all of that. Nope, she hasn't come across the book for the Falmer Bikini armor yet - though I don't think she will be wearing anything from that set. I'll be going for the Ebony book with her soon. Anyway, the mask is in the Steel/Nord Plate set - and because it is a Circlet, not a helmet, the perk in Ordinator(not sure if vanilla has it) that gives a higher bonus for not wearing a helmet still applies.
