Guest Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 (edited) > My Prince told me that his father told him that if you started to play guitar and you didn't know this song, nobody took you seriously. It was very popular in our country for decades. I like it. My Prince knows to play it and I like his interpretation especially when my Ivy sings harmony with him. Guest Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 The talent is in the purity. Not using anything to help with voice or anything. Just raw skill.

Guest Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 Well, speaking to girl empowerment (I prefer that in place of power as I find the true effect of power to be an ugly thing- I am sensitive to words in strange ways like that) I think a female simply remaking a song that should never be remade, and breathing a new experience into it for the is empowering. Since I have already posted Tori Amos twice, I'll pass on her version and share this.
Guest Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 One of the many bands (similar to the Queen movie clip I posted) who have given the music industry a much deserved middle finger. What is popular is often SHIT. Rock on to the real artists out there. Many people could take life lessons from this shit
Guest Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 Sorry, but Ed Sheeran...kinda makes me want to do things. ?
Guest Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 This post is as much a tribute to Bob Geldof as to the Boomtown Rats. He was a force-to-be-reckoned-with in the Live Aid music event. Also, played "Pink" in the movie "The Wall". He took the role after first saying "I am in a punk rock band, why the fuck would I do anything with a bunch of sell-outs". After which he heard the substance of the album and recognized the mainstream was about to get a kick to the face presentation in an epic way the very heart of the punk rock message. Well, that the infamous moment preceding the writing of The Wall, when the lead singer of Pink Floyd literally spat at the audience for not really "listening" (a nutshell description). This was something that punk bands did regularly and when Pink Floyd did it, they unofficially to many of us, became bad ass punk rockers. And will always be that to me.
