I'm running into a problem where, maybe a month or two into the game, all of the portraits associated with a territory are missing - they show as blank grey stone. This includes my own territory, meaning that my portrait still shows normally, but if I click on my home territory... I get nothing:

If I click on any other territory, it's the same. The portraits aren't gone, and if I access them through another subinterface (like clicking on my character, clicking family, and selecting another rule) those portraits work just fine.

I'm not using any other mods, but using all the DLC and most of the portrait packs.

Interesting. I appreciate you sharing the image. I'll see what I can do.

In non-image related news, update v0.61 has been released.

Change log is:

v0.61

    - Added: Annual check for breast and penis size, as there are ways to generate NPC's without the traits during play

    - Added: New minor Succubus spell

    - Fixed: Immortality Spell Exploit

    - Fixed: Bad bounce that had you becoming your own lover

What? Just curious, are you using a saved game?

It sounds like you're having that problem that others have when they try and apply an update to a saved game, and then suddenly new traits get spammed everywhere. I've not assigned ANY portraits to NPC other than a selection that can ONLY be obtained via special events.

If you've got random NPC's with 10's on them, then there is something else going on entirely since nothing I've done assigns portrait 10 to anything.

I don't have any of them yet. I just recently downloaded CKII and really didn't see a need to pay for portraits.?

Then unfortunately I've no special fixes I can relate to you at this time. I presently do not have the time to try and troubleshot an exception to a lack of the required DLC's. I may remove the images and make them available as a separate add on, but it's not at the top of what I want to add at the moment.

Hi, Dewguru. Thanks for your fast reply earlier. I tried the fixes in the other forum, but they didn't work for me...it seems like they should but maybe I'm just totally slow when it comes to some computer stuff. LOL. Anyway, I'm sorry if it's inconvenient, but your direct D/L link worked for me. Can you post the .61 version when you get a chance. I'd really love a chance to play a game with your hard work. Thanks.

How odd. The attachment I posted is still hosted by LoversLab, only it doesn't do that delay magic. Here's 0.61.

It seems like for the most part the missing portraits aren't permanent. I disabled all the portrait DLC, loaded the game, exited the game, re-enabled the DLC and launching the game again brought my portraits back.

Except for two (one adult and one child): the adult has clothes but no face and the child (her daughter) has no portrait at all. The only odd thing is that the adult has the 'hourglass' trait (from the AB mod, I think) instead of a breast size trait (from Dark World).

Query, shouldn't you be able to rape Claire as a futanari or perhaps a male?

Given that's the case, perhaps you could trigger Claire as an Incubus?

That would also require an Incubus event chain, but hey.

Also; concept; Nephilim trait.

Desc: A child willingly borne between the Seraphim and the fallen Elohim, they possess powers greater than either of their parents.

Hmm, a seduce-Claire questline should be in order.

I run Dark World with nothing but the anime portraits mod. Maybe you should try the same?

I made another post on the previous page which I think you missed, so figured I'd just make sure you got it.

The werewolves used to spawn named "random" with their DNA being "random", as in the word. I see you fixed the name but the issue with the DNA still persists.

Simply removing both lines actually makes them random, tried it out, works.

The first event, DWWerewolf.100 is also missing an uppercase "I" at the start of every sentence.

I tested the updated events, and they work! But the text is still bonked and redirects to myself when the werewolf is talking about himself.

Oh and I found another bug, the child raising events in DWRandom have missing pregnancy checks.

Doesn't matter for the f/d one but the m/s one can cause the mother to end up with multiple pregnancies, so might want to fix that.

And this is purely an idea so feel free to ignore this part, but maybe you could make it so the werewolf battle rape has the child tagged as a werewolf on birth by creating a dead NPC that has the werewolf trait (on setup) and then every time that event occurs, instead of No Character, you use that one.

Or maybe in case of impregnation, also fire an invisible event that fires exactly a day after birth that tags the child as a werewolf.

Anyway, hope this helps.

I actually found out what my problem was: I didn't have Cuman portrait pack from the Horse Lords content pack so the portraits_cuman file (in dark world) was causing problems. I just deleted it and everything was back to normal.

To anyone with portrait issues: The requirements were already mentioned in the topic, but try the following:

  1. Make sure you have all of the official portrait DLC installed and enabled. The various "portraits_" files in the interface folder will conflict with your CKII installation if you do not have all of the official portrait DLC. If you don't have the portrait DLC, as a work-around, you can delete the portraits_ files, but that would break Claire's portrait, depending on her culture.

  2. Make sure you're also running the latest version of CKII, or any version that was released after Horse Lords. The portraits mod takes advantage of a special p11 property slot introduced since Horse Lords debut.

  3. Make sure you're not running any other mods using gfx associated with blinded_eyes, red_dots, or boils. Those gfx are reserved for my portraits mod, which means they're now reserved for Dark World. CKII is not very friendly regarding multiple user mods being enabled, so when in doubt, disable everything, then slowly re-enable one mod at a time.

To clarify something: I've gotten Claire event, and I've chosen to 'welcome' her to the court (So i can partake in delicious corruption action, of course). Am I correct in assuming the event chain for corrupting/seducing claire isn't in yet? If it is, what's the MTTH for it?

Secondly, is the werewolf event a one off, and if you kill it he's gone, or is it repeating every few years?

They are no longer named random as of v0.61 (didn't mention it in the change log though). The I... is in the text in the message. I tried to get fancy.

Good point on the dead feral werewolf not spawning a werewolf child. I'll see about fixing that one. If you get knocked up by the werewolf prisoner that you can obtain, that child should be tagged properly as a werewolf. Feral just doesn't work as it is because there is no father record to check against.

Yes. I had the beginnings well under way, but a computer crash cost me everything (because I spent a couple hours gathering and sorting without saving ). I was heart broken, so I just put the few things that remained to the side so I could tackle it again later.

The feral werewolf event has a chance to trigger once every decade. So if the RNG god's aren't kind, you may never see it, or only see it once. If they're kind, you'll see it a couple times, spread out over different rulers.

Thank you ReMeDy.

For those who need a little more direction on step #1, open up your Dark World mod folder, open the interface folder, and remove any of the portrait_ files that you don't have.

The portrait_ files are:

  • portraits_african.gfx
  • portraits_byzantine.gfx
  • portraits_celtic.gfx
  • portraits_cuman.gfx
  • portraits_easternslavic.gfx
  • portraits_indian.gfx
  • portraits_mesoamerican.gfx
  • portraits_mongols.gfx
  • portraits_norse.gfx
  • portraits_persian.gfx
  • portraits_southern.gfx
  • portraits_turkish.gfx

Yeah I noticed you gave them a set name now, something beginning with D, but you should know that just deleting the lines "name = random" and "dna = random" forces CK to randomize them themselves.

As of now, they are no longer named Random but still have "random" DNA, as in that's the DNA assigned to them, the word "random".

Probably won't really cause many issues other than the weird pink beard I get every once in a while when I was debugging it, but just to be sure I think it'd be smarter to get rid of those lines.

Odd. I swear I saw somewhere that setting DNA = random is a valid option. Ah well, I've plucked it out for the v0.62 update.

I'm leaving the name. I just put random before because I didn't want to look one up. Now I looked one up, so it stays. ;)

Fair enough ^_^

I swear I'm forgetting one other thing but I can't recall it for the life of me.

Oh well, I'll let you know if I remember I guess.

Good work on the mod btw

Okay so I found a couple more (sorry if this is beginning to be annoying).

After I make the werewolf my pet through the succubus choice, and I send him out to deal with the threat, I actually send myself out and risk getting an injury.

I also tried to have a bunch of kids with the werewolves, none of them ended up with the trait so there's that as well.

EDIT:

Did a couple more runs, the problem of sending myself is only present with the werewolf pet option, rest work fine, so probably just needs less or extra FROMs.

As for the children, I figured out why it doesn't work.

Real Father checks are only ran if the child is a secret bastard, i.e. if your character is married and the husband doesn't know.

If it is publicly known, even if the father denounces the child, it's only a day after birth, and the perk is only run on the day of birth, giving him a "real father" stat but too late for the event to check.

So it'll probably have to be rewritten to check if the child has a secret father or not and if they are a werewolf.
