MuteDay Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 None of the events are starting for me. And the only change that appears to exist in game is the Messalian faith being a possible religion. The obvious question to ask would be, is your character female? The Lilith event only fires if your character is female. A lot of the other stuff won't show up right away, necessarily. One thing you can check for is whether you can build the new buildings in your capital - the assassins' guild, arena, brothel, etc. Also, Messalian is actually in the base game, it's just extremely rare to see it, since it's a Heresy of Nestorian Christianity, and there's only one Nestorian ruler in a normal start (in Socotra), and they usually get overrun by the Sunni Arabs. I actually tried playing CK2 with th DW mod in different situations. Using different characters of different genders, using and not using ruler designer, and using multiple bookmarked time periods. Not once did I see any of the buildings that you mentioned, that come from the DW mod, only the buildings from the base game were apparent. I also failed to point out earlier, that i had MuteDay's Sexual Crusader mod, activated in some playthroughs and deactivated in others, while DW being activated. I also didn't notice any changes in the base game that would have been noticable while Sexual Crusader being activated. i would recomend repairing or a fresh install sounds like your base game is broken, btw what path do you have your mods installed to? and have you tried running game as admin, if that dont work try running the game with -debug -debugscripts

It's 75% off on Steam this weekend though, so can someone explain what I would actually need? 'Way of Life' is in the requirements, but it's not part of the 'Collection'... And now there's a lot of Horse Lords talk in the last few pages. So so should I be looking at: Collection ($30) + Way of Life ($2) + Horse Lords ($11)? Or: Or CKII ($8) + Way of Life ($2) + Portrait Workaround? There also seem to be other DLCs/Portrait packs that aren't in the 'Collection', so if I don't have all of them do I still need to use the workaround? I'm kinda confused. You need to use the work-around on any portrait dlc you do NOT own. To fix this, delete the mod's portrait_ files for portrait packs you do not own. You can safely skip the Horse Lords dlc. It has no bearing on the portrait aspect of Dark World, or my portrait mod.

Help ? ok i suffer this as well your likely using a normal zip file you need to download a 7zip file changer since some of the mods on this site are done useing 7zip not ever one knows there in use.

There is also a chance for mods conflicting. I ran the Harem mod before getting this one and it completely cancelled out this mod - the events didn't pop. Try to run the game with nothing enabled but DW. Maybe even disable DLCs. If everything looks fine and it still doesn't pop, you can "force" the chain to start by opening the console and typing "event DWLilith.1". Good luck! I disabled all my mods, except Dark World of course, and all my expansions, except Way of Life (I don't have Horse Lords). I waited for a few in-game years and no events fired off. I even forced start the event 'DWLilith.1', and all that poped up was an event box with only my character portrait on the left-hand side, and the letter 'A' <=(in caps) on the right. that means one of the events is missing its requirement I also forgot to point out that the traits from the mod don't apear in the ruler designer; and when I tried to add any of them through the console, it would say they do not exist. All of this points to you having installed the mod incorrectly. If you installed this in the mod directory located in your Steam > Crusader Kings directory, then it's the wrong place. Outside of that, we'd need more information. What version of CK2 are you running. What if you delete the mod and reinstall it? Is it selected both at start-up and then once again while in game? I have seen this issue when playing the Christianity Mod. I believe it's from how popular and easy it is for so many people to become whores in Christianity. Things then spread like wild fire. I usually end up playing a mini-game of sorts in trying to keep my court pox free.

On an unrelated note, this happens when the Werewolf Bitch event is triggered. It's hilarious, don't get me wrong, but I don't think it works as intended. Heh. I see the issue. One of the add_lover commands is outside of a FROM block where I'm handling other things for the bitch. So the werewolf is both getting the bitch and himself as a lover. I'll make the change, but won't be posting it until I'm back home in a couple days.

It looks like it's event DWWerewolf241, the one where you send your werewolf courtier out to slay a wild werewolf. The text gives the werewolf's name as my character's name, and she gets injured instead of him. Also, I had a vanilla event fire where Harley became my character's rival. This resulted in Harley eventually bludgeoning herself to death. I think that's just wacky enough to be worth keeping.

I'm maintaining what I have and I won't be incorporating those posted files - nor will I offer any support for them. I also won't be using the svn as I've no issues with the tools provided to me by Lover's Lab. Every time I see my request ignored and I feel like folks are trying to steer my mod in a direction that I don't desire, it makes me feel less and less like continuing to share it as I build it. I don't view my request as being unreasonable, so please don't try and change my mind.

The modding community, Lover's Lab included, thrives due to respecting a creator's wishes. In this thread we've already seen confusion as to who's doing what and I've no desire to see that grow. Is my request really that extreme? To not post hot fixes or files for a mod that I am actively working on and releasing? If it helps, I'm all for folks doing hot fixes and keeping it going WHEN AND ONLY WHEN I'm not actively working on the mod. I do think it's awesome that folks help each other out, and communicate their issues, help each other troubleshoot, etc.. The hot fix posting is my only real "don't do" request.

I thought about this and instead of having it as something a Succubus can clean from another, I'm going to take a different approach. Mainly because I imagine that the Lover's Pox as being a curse / disease that probably originated from Lilith / Lucifer as a prime method of marking those who fall to the tempations of the flesh. Plus, that would require a female ruler to be able to clean it from anyone, and I know that some folks still use the mod while playing as male rulers. So instead, that Wizard's Lab building that was added, it'll have some events associated with it. One of them is going to be the ability to develop a cure for the Lover's Pox, which in turn would provide the ruler with a decent economic boost. Plus it would activate the ability for the ruler to target specific people (including themselves) to remove the pox (if they don't have the money to clean it off themselves).
