Well apart from the game looking like it was made to come out four or five years ago, the only thing i really didn't like was the voiced PC, hopefully there will an option to turn that off even tho i have a hard time seeing how that could work smoothly without making the dialog feel (for the lack of a better word) halved.

I both hated and loved the voiced PC myself, I love how much more interactive the story and dialogue is going to feel but I hate how difficult is to get mods that feel apart of the game now - seriously though the character creation and introduction scenes had me laughing my head off.

I hate the dialogue interface, it looked like it came straight out of a Bioware game.

I get it, and if the game have a great story around the character then player voice works well, but when it's more like build your adventure kinda thing with full character customization and all that it kinda defeats the point; like if i wanna make character that is just a cold hearted total asshole (fitting for me i'm sure some will say) it would be a huge immersion breaker if the game make my response to something sound more like an apology then an insult.

Bethesda blew my mind. Building settlements, houses, the part-by-part armor system, the upgrades for weapons and armors, the dog companion, the fact that we aren't limited to a male PC as said by that one leak before, the graphics, the overhauled systems, the games on the pipboy.. everything.

If this won't be game of the year again i don't know what will. I really don't have a negative thing to say about it.

And in the post-interview he even said there's even more.. like what? can't think of many things that could still be done at that point lol.

/fanboy

What i'm interested in is how the character customization will be. We've only seen the face part, but i'm wondering if it'll the same for the body aswell, like a built in bodyslide if you will.

And i'm also interested in what the modders will be able to do, besides HQ textures and more highpoly meshes. Realistic needs and diseases? Frostfall'ish mod? Requiem? Sexlab? YES PLEASE!

Was definitely going to pre-order Fallout 4 until I saw the opening scene of the trailer. So that hetero player-character + spouse and family bullshit is indeed true. Didn't even watch past that bathroom scene, I now enough to know I won't be buying or playing this game at all....

I think it's going to be another game of the year. I myself was literally stoked. If all turns out good with Fallout 4, I'm going to have some serious long years of fun with this game. But as much as I'm anticipated about it, I'm worried about it, too.

And for those worried about some of the aspects. Keep in mind that everything revealed in game is all based off footage from console system. For all we know, we might get even more for PC apart from a toolkit. So with that said, I can understand why nothing about being able to mod is revealed thus far. Lets just hope it still holds the same freedom in modding as the previous titles. Apart from the weapon customization and structure creating we've already seen.

The showcase for fallout 4... awesomeness incarnate!

While i am a bit on the fence about voiced main character, I really did like Mass Effect and enjoyed it so I'm hopeful the voice acting is just as amazing like female shepard in Mass Effect.

The weapon customization is awesome! The armor customation is great too. Armor is in modular parts now so you can mix up things. Dynamic settlement building! You get to ride in Vertibirds while on a gattling gun! I wonder if you can drive it or you just tell the pilot where to go. That's great.

It's a real sandbox game now! Also the character customzation! Looks awesome and the bathroom scene was cleverly done with the husband and wife.

Also, death scenes! When that Deathclaw grabs you! and Claws you to death! The mosquito actually jumping on you and sticking it's probicuius needle into you! It's like skyim's kill-cams.

Junk items have value now!

Just somethings i noticed.

Looks like the brotherhood is returning, and synths are going to be a common foe in game.

Why does that bother you? Hetero-sexual orientation? For all we know the main charater's is bisexual. However, you have to remember that fallout is a representation of the cold war era of the United States. Being Bisexual or gay wasn't a thing back then.

I'm a hetero-sexual male, and lesbian or gay relationsips don't bother me. I wouldn't mind playing a character that is either.

While I respect your choice, you shouldn't let a thing like this dissuade you instantly from purchasing or even trying out the game from like a friend or something.

The new version of the creation kit is going to be great since it really did make modding much easier for Skyrim, I hope they do fix a lot of the shenanigans that the original creation kit had, like random crashing, not being able to load multiple masters unless you edited ini.

I'm pretty hopeful for the amazing mods that ARE going to be made for fallout.

Bethesda game studios know they have a loyal fanbase that will mod the game. They want to and need to cater to that HUGE part of the playerbase.

I'm really hoping it doesn't use the same havok system for animations like in Skyrim. I really hope not, but it's not going to stop me from buying the game if my concerns about it like monetizing mods and forcing us to use the toolkit behind a platform that requires you to be online doesn't happen. I'm not really looking forward for DRMized mod system. That will seriously crush my hopes for the game.

This right here is pure hentai! Holy shit! My first thought was - amg.. I am gonna build a Slavers' settlement, with watch towers and cages and everything! (^-^ )~

Just as a reminder for those hyped about the game, if you choose to place your naked ass on that gloryhole know as pre order, you do kinda forfeit the right to complain about getting fucked in a way may not you like.

Just saying, buyers beware.

VATS in real time!!! WOW.

Dog companion! FINALLY. I will make him my personal wrench-fetcher throughout the game. From the looks of trailer he can now incapacate enemies.

Didn't like the deahclaw custcene (where he pick up player from the ground). That better to be executions (I didn' even like that from Skyrim where enemy doesn't need to hit you to execute so he just goes near you and execution happens)

Oh this new player-voiced dialogue systems is gonna make so much trouble for modders - how can you make new quests now? All prompts will need to be recorded. You'll have to look for voice actors.

And this voiced dialogue makes me think we won't have a lof of roleplay options in Fallout (more like in Mass effect when you're either good, neutral or bad).

Hope they won't make tutorial very long - Fallout3 tutorial was too long for me.

TL:DR Not so hyped as before. Hope new Deus Ex will be good.

That's not true at all. They will just leave it as "mute dialog".. duuh <.<

And for the dog - we did have a dog companion in NV.

"We even generate a baby based on the couple you make". What do you guys make of this sentence?

Pre-existing assets and methods to make a child of two or more actors in a pregnancy mod? :D

Otherwise I hope that kid doesn't come back later on, I love Fallout's storyline but in no way do I want to have to deal with some kid that my character is meant to have some kind of responsibility for in any of the quests unless it's by my actions directly.

Nothing mentioned about a toolkit.

"We even generate a baby based on the couple you make". What do you guys make of this sentence?

At the beginning when you build both the male and female characters they give those 2 characters a baby.

Since it was also stated "you emerge 200 years later as the SOLE survivor" I'm guess the kid is probably just cannon fodder for the back story.

IE: it was 1950, you were married with a kid (newborn)... WW3 happened you all went into the vault. 200 years pass by you emerge alone from the vault (spouse, child and everyone else in the vault dead).... now you get to go rebuild in the post apocalypse boston and will probably have mental issues to deal with (lost family and spending 200 years in cryo would probably fuck up any bodies head).

Really we will not know about the other people in the vault until that information is made available.

I'm hoping the nif file format (mesh files) is similar to skyrim so current tools can be tweaked to start making goodies for it as soon as it becomes available (Tools like the Blender toolset, Max toolset, and simple stuff like bodyslide).

I'm hoping Mod Organizer can be tweaked to make a version for FO4 when it becomes available as well.

Would love to see a large amount of the Sexlab, APPS, Zaz, and others frameworks can be ported to FO4 as well (but first we will need nude bodies, animations, and skeletons).

I really wish they would have touched the body option that was available in the character creation section (went face, sex, body, done for options).

I hope they add climbing to the options, so many things can change when you can just climb up onto a balcony, or thru a broken window that would change the game play (hope that keep skyrims run, sprint, jump, and duck options though).

I do like how you can build and modify weapons, and buildings.... I'm hoping that carries over to the modular armor as well.

In the after show he mentioned that some of the building options would be perk based

I'm guessing that is going to be along the lines of: can not make x items unless you have y perk... kinda like skyrim's smithing tree where you can't make ebony items if you have only unlocked the iron perk.

Which would make sense... you can't tweak a plasma weapon unless you know how (or you would blow yourself up in the process of trying).

That should make weapon mod's a hell of a lot more interesting as the modder will have to figure out not only the base design but what different items added to it and how it would change the weapon.

As for the Player body... I'm hoping they went more along the lines of SAM then default skyrim.

IE: Use 3 base meshes as the reference shapes (skinny, fat, and musclar) and let the user adjust to the shape they want.

This would make building the female character more fun. Add in height and have each non mutated npc random in those characteristics.... and that would allow for a more diverse NPC pool.

I wonder if the UUNP or CBBE Racemenu Morphs could be added into the character building function???

And I hope they have some good kill cam moves, oh and decent game pace cause for shooters I like more interesting paces like GTA V, Saints Row 3/4, as well as FPS games like COD... so slow ass game play is gonna suck for a shoot em up.

About the character morph. As they revealed, there is no slider in the CharGen. It's all done morphs. But we only got a glimps of the the face. I would hope they had a slider feature, but none of that was mentioned. And if not, it's going to be hard (I think) to incorporate such a thing. I'm starting to think we aren't getting any form of body sliders since fallout has always been about the face only. That's gonna suck if so....

Just shown and I'm already having to wait for a mod to make it playable. *sigh*

I don't want my female character to have been already knocked up. The fuck is that shit? That's complete and utter idiocy to force such a thing on a player character. All our sex mods here are going to have to start on "used up". Goes for the male to some extent too. Automatically a father. Also makes them both kinda old maybe? 24-28ish by the looks of it. A big part of these games is injecting personality and backstory into the character yourself. That's the whole point of open world RPG. So already need an alternate start mod and the game isn't even out yet! I mean got damn! Unless it turns out you skip a few years and play as the baby during the game and the parents are just for the intro which would make a whole lot more sense.

Posted

Isn't this only in your head though? Yes, what's shown is canonical but you are not tied to follow the lines set by the writers. And the alternate start would probably change just this exactly - the start, and you still be a father anyway.

Posted

To be honest, I saw nothing in the showcase that got me excited. Nothing. All those stuff about armors, building, crafting, etc. means nothing if I don't enjoy being in that world, which is partly related to the character that I will be playing, and I already saw a couple of turn offs about that. If the world's going to be as boring as FNV then no amount of game play gimmicks can save the game.

I really don't see how all that matters. In Fallout 3 you are the lone wanderer looking for daddy. In New Vegas you are a Courier aka delivery boy who had bad luck and looks to seek revenge, neither one had an impact on how you wanted to be in the game unless you follow the quest line. None of those stopped the ability to project the game how you wanted. The difference is now there is a voice dialogue that does in a way kill it. But it doesn't stop you as the player from roleplaying as a slut with sex mods. Didn't before and shouldn't now.
