I'm using 1.3.5 but I completely forgot about this mod being in my list because it never loaded up even on coc qasmoke. Nothing seems to be overwriting it, though the plugin is in the middle of the pack due to LOOT. What am I doing wrong?

Probably nothing, I had to move it down to almost the last SL related plugin, the only thing lower than this as far as SL related things is DD Equip. After doing that it works fine, I also have used the patch listed in the topic a few pages back which deletes "you" from the esp.

hey guys!

Can someone tell me how to make a json file for not-vanilla followers? I have this esp with some npcs I made and, from what I've understood from some of the stuff on "Design and tools.zip" I must have those NPCs' RefID. How do I get those RefIDs? Do I have to write them down from the console while ingame? Because on CK I can only see the BaseID and from what I understand the RefID depends on each game, right? If so, how can there be a json list with the RefID for vanilla characters that suits everyone's game?

There are two ways you can get the RefID's outside of the game. In the CK: find your NPCs in the Cell View window, you'll see the RefIDs there. Simpler way: use this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72356/?. You don't need the first two digits (the ones depending on your load order) as SLSL .json files ignore them.

What does the bottom left options do? It doesn't seem to stick onto the characters themselves so I'm unsure of what goes on. Also is it possible to have conflicting traits together? Say you take faithful, but also take submissive and victim, will it somehow make you reject certain people but be unable to resist others? I don't know what keywords to search for to look up an answer in a 70+ page thread.

 

So far in a 1 hour fresh run, I don't think anyone has ever approached me through SLSL, only Radiant Prostitution. I even checked through SLA on their arousal but it doesn't seem like they care even when they hit the proper number (I set it to 40, not sure if it's individually or as a whole).

 

Another possible issue I noticed is certain characters (mostly generic npcs like bandits) tend to have more strange trait combos like a straight guy but has a sizequeen trait, and if I'm guessing how it works then he basically won't rape or fuck anyone who isn't a futa. That's rather annoying since you wouldn't really set up generic npc stuff much.

I followed your instructions but while it apparently works fine with npc to npc, no one hits on my PC at all. I'm hoping that the patch in the thread is outdated so gonna maybe I'll try without it, but other than that and maybe this mod conflicting with sexist guards (it's a pure comment dialogue mod) I don't have any leads on how to fix this.

If you use the patch to delete "you" than you'll get no interactions for the PC at all, also if you check excluded in the options  the same but that's pretty self explanatory :)

Thanks I ended up removing it, and I can see how everyone is kinda annoyed that it's automatic and lacks dialogue.

 

Personally my biggest issue with it aside from what was listed is how strange the traits work.

 

I was planning to go faithful/submissive/victim/prostitution for a tad bit more complexity, but figured faithful would just screw everything up. But going by all 3 options which is pure yes yes yes, even someone who is dominant/prostitution of the opposite sex will fail every time they interact with the PC and just go away, whether the lines are pssh whatever, to you're not who I'm talking to, to the craziest being something about he will pay and you agrees but nothing comes out of it. It doesn't really make sense that you can deny 99% of them saying stuff like sorry not up to it when I got all 3 easy access traits going on.

 

Might have figured out why it is so uncommon for sex to occur though, specifically for the PC. It seems that when the timer hits, only one randomly chosen pair will engage, heck possibly not engage in talks at all. And then since you basically have a very very very low chance at sex unless the initiator is a rapist combined with how the more people around you (unknown how large the scan area is too that sucks) the lower the chance you'll have the PC getting interactions, even if you're just aiming for talking. Unlike say prostitution mods where an NPC can whore themselves out while the PC whores themselves out separately this mod from my testing has never shown more than one pair active at a time. The only reason I could even test this was cause I tried using the debug stuff, and lo and behold set on minimum every 20 seconds the chosen actor constantly hits on the PC. Hell the chosen actor hits on the PC even in the middle of sex, it just doesn't do anything as far as I could tell.

 

Unless the dialogue option is put in place of you along with brushing up the responses, sticking with the patch and going npc only makes the mod excel better at the moment, at least until Dooge comes back. I enjoy the NPC to NPC talk but I'm wondering if making it so more than one pair can activate per scan would put immense burden on low end rigs or whether or not simply slowing down the scan rate would even it out? Contrary to what people say about there being lots of PC sex mods, the closest one that emulates what Sexlife aims to do is Approach which was last updated in 2014 and no one has a clue if it works with the latest Sexlab, with reports of it bloating saves before, so it is a shame on the PC end.

 

The mod also has this issue where certain npcs won't be in their right spots for scripted dialogue. I fast traveled to Whiterun after killing the dragon, and the two red guards are talking to no one but the conversation proceeds. They leave and minutes later a guard comes along, and I never encountered this issue before Sexlife. EDIT: This issue may or may not be linked with this mod, as I removed the mod yet it still happened however it was from the same save, so no telling if it just broke the save or if Sexlife was completely unrelated.

I'm glad someone went through more documented effort to explain the current version's problems.  Older versions of this mod had better chances at initiating sex scenes.  This latest version you're lucky if it even tells you the sex attempt failed.

While to customize text only is relatively (very) easy, to add more text is not (that involves the tweaking of .esp file itself). 

To customize (including translate) the notification message on the left-top corner is the hardest to tweak,

since notification sentences are build from several parts like a jigsaw.

 

As for the first, you can customize them easily with the help of some translation tools like TESVtranslator/ Skyrim Strings Localizer.

Rewrite dialogue texts as you like, then just overwrite .esp

(be sure to back up the original .esp before you try to customize it).

Thanks for the reply. This was exactly what I was looking for.

I was digging around the .esp using the CK, but I wasn't aware there was a tool like this for dialogue texts.

Alright then, let's see if I remember anything at all about modding anymore. I do forget a lot of things at alarming speed, but luckily I learn fast too.

 

Update an hour later... OK so I will upload 1.4 that has fixes by Halleaon and total removal of YOU. Not a huge update but at least it puts me back to the game.

Especially because I still have yet to see all the You dialogue, my wife just said "Sweetie he's got a big dick!" and since removing You entirely I cannot see what he has to say about everything. So if You was available only for interactions then I'd love it.

Ideally just having the usual dialogue window where you can pick your response to whoever approaches you would be the simplest implementation.  Sometimes simple is better, because there's less room for errors and it's easier to fix if something goes wrong.

I'm not inclined to add normal dialog for the PC, there are tons of mods like that already that do it great.

 

But I might want to improve the mod now, perhaps just more content. Or, perhaps non-sexual NPC to NPC chat mod, same tech as in this one but just regular (random) chatter.

 

But yeah I should take the time and read through all of this thread, or perhaps just ask iacex111 he would know what the mod needs, right?

I can't speak for anyone else, but what enticed me to try out your mod was the idea that anyone who approached the PC for sex didn't automatically make the PC out to be a prostitute, and to an extent your mod did do that, just not in a way that was smoothly integrated. There's tons of prostitution mods, and there's things like Eager NPCs which lets you be active, but as of yet I've never seen a catcalling mod.

A question to all SLSL users: Has anyone experienced a problem when after some time (quite long in my case) of proper working the mod started to misbehave? In my game there were three symptoms:

  1. Most approaches were "genderfail" ones, i.e. a man came at a woman just to comment another lady's butt. Both character at maximum arousal and with all attributes set adequately.
  2. If two matching characters were actually found (info on screen displayed: "A1: Name, A2: Name"), they just stood still, no action, no dialogue.
  3. Comments and debug messages on screen seized to appear or only few of them were displayed.

I made some changes to my game in the meantime, but they were updates to already installed mods (namely: USKP, Immersive Citizens, SOS with add-ons, XP32 MSE). I am mentioning the mods "just in case", although I had not experienced such problems before that, even when I installed or uninstalled mods with SLSL active.

 

Please, comment.

 

It's on purpose, some amount of cases will always end up in genderfail-matrix for more veried results.

Just because you don't understand what a mod does doesn't mean that it doesn't work. This mod works just fine without tweaking, if you know what it actually does. Sex isn't a given; in fact, it's meant to be a relatively infrequent occurrence. It does happen though if you're patient.

 

My favorite moment so far, courtesy of this mod, was watching Heimskr rape Danica under the burnt Gildergreen. He never quit giving his sermon, so the whole time he's getting busy he's yelling about "writhing in the filth of our own excrement" or whatever he says. Quite the spectacle.

Sexlab Approach? I (vaguely) remember that mod occassionally sending people towards you to make a comment or whistle or some such. I haven't used it in ages though.

Removing "you" would fix lot of problems but would exclude the player from the chats. I would rather try to minimize the impact of "you" first. Anyway, I still need to play with my mod to get some idea how it works.

It had to be tried, right? I'm only sorry I took so long brake before coming back and removing 'you' from the mod.

The mod does work, or at least all the aspects I've tested so far work well enough to be playable. Students will start humping much older teachers in the hallways of Winterhold and stuff like that. This is somewhat accidentally the most disturbing mod I have ever downloaded. It is also flexible and it neatly fills a lot of gaps in the world, and when it does do buggy or just plain weird shit you're going to either laugh or have nightmares about talking cows being frank about their sexual preferences.
