For some reason my MCM never shows up, despite SUM confirming that it's loaded. Same problem on POP 4.01, 4.02 and 4.03. setstage Ski_instancemanager doesnt help, reloading neither.

But since it's loading for other people it has to be on my end. What circumstances could hinder the MCM from loading?

Follow these steps if your POP MCM does not show up.

  1. Make sure you can see POP's version number in SUM's MCM. This will ensure that POP's scripts were installed in the correct place.
  2. Open the MCM and confirm that POP is not there. Actually just opening the MCM will trigger a soft MCM refresh.
  3. Exit the MCM.
  4. Wait 3 hrs in game.
  5. Wait 1 - 2 min RT.
  6. Open the MCM and see if POP appeared.
  7. If not, open the console and force a manual MCM refresh by typing 'SetStage SKI_ConfigManagerInstance 1'.
  8. Repeat 3, 4, 5, 6.
  9. If the POP MCM still does not appear, @WaxenFigure is correct in the previous post; some mod loaded before POP is stopping the MCM loading any more mods.
  10. You can start removing mods in groups of 5 or so, and repeat 1 - 8, after you removed each group, until POP MCM loads. When POP MCM loads then exit the game and install back the last group you removed, one mod at a time repeating 1 - 8 after each mod, until POP MCM does not load.  That last mod should be your culprit.
  11. Let us know what you find.

@Inte

Sorry Inte but there is something seriously wrong with the new routines, this report is for the latest v03 versions of SUM, POP and DDE

I was not able to test POP as both SUM and DDE will not show the MCM menus in my main game. The trick I used before to save then reload did not work this time either and I tried multiple times just to be sure. This test was on a cleaned main game pc in Solitude. (screenies below)

However I was able to to get the MCM menus to appear in my cleaned game loader (in LAL starter cell) however I noticed that there were no initialisation notifications at the top left of the screen, but all the MCM options appear to be listed.

I'll revert back to the .02 versions for now

  Reveal hidden contents

EDIT: It's getting a bit late now but looking at the three mods the changes to SUM/DDE only seem to be the startup changes which are causing the current problem, so I'll try POP v4.03 with the SUM/DDE .02 versions but it'll be tomorrow now

I would need a log, because I cannot duplicate this bug.

I tried it on a new game, cleaned save, I even tried it on a save that had POP 3.60 installed and other than the expected warnings in the log it worked just fine (to my complete surprise).
To clean a save see the updated post No. 2.

Same, i get an instant (no delay) CTD when i try to load my save.

I just "upgraded" from the older 3 version (clean uninstall and clean save).

Saved in qasmoke.

Update: WTF, i just enabled logging in skyrim.ini to find out what is wrong and now it loads... But the mod wont start and the MCM does not show up at all... and the log is literally 10000 lines of xpo errors... and it just crashed... sigh

Update2: No chance getting 4.x to work. I just carefully tried to cleanly uninstall and prepare a clean save for 4.x but as soon as I try to load the game with 4.x enabled it just immediately crashes.

My guess is its the old strings in Papyrus data table 3 that cant be removed by any kind of save cleaning (thats just how the skyrim saves work) which are somehow not compatible with 4.x. These are the only things that are left over from POP 3.6 after i cleaned it.

New game works but i will absolutely not start another new game sigh...

Can you post a few of those xpo errors?

Or attach the log, assuming it's not larger than 10Mb?

Hmm, looks like it doesn't like Solitude. I had an earlier save in Breezehome luckily and it worked without any problems . Solitude must a bit too much of a location or maybe a pc restart fixed it. I've often updated in Whiterun and never had a problem there before.

A question I've been meaning to ask out of pure curiosity. If I set the bounty routine running at say 2:15 pm game-time for say every 5 days with the BH's set for 24 hour delay. If on day five I get a bounty which triggers the BH's do they wait until 2:15 pm the following day before coming for me. I think the question I'm asking is what time in game does the bounty come into effect, is it the time I started the routine +5 days or something like midnight of the 5th night (hope that's clear)

well that's odd, solitude is a bit buggy for me too

for example the jailer is floating up and down the stairs as if displaced, sometimes even vanishes in the walls

I have no city replacer or something (or do I)

That sounds like something a bit different as my problem was trying to install SUM/DDE so probably best to check if you have a replacer tucked away in your load order somewhere. Is it working okay for other jails?

I'm sure it's a bit different issue, but you said SOLITUDE and I couln't hold back anymore^^

yes other jails work

solitude outside POP scenes work too (like furniture or tavern cage scenes)

the issue is just the stairs down to the prison and only the jailer has an issue with those stairs (floating over the stairs and likes to vanish in the ceiling, debug "teleport jailor to PC" sloves the issue)

if that isn't a kown issue, than I have something in my load order that overwrites parts of solitude jail

the hunt is on

will make some pictures that might show what I mean (but I hope the issue is gone with pop 403)

Hmm, I've spent a lot of time as a guest :D in that jail and never had a problem except for the odd NPC getting in the way of the jailer

Anyone experience conflict with Devious Cursed Loot or SL Adventures?  Prison cell events will not activate at regular intervals.  Once either mod is installed.  Parade, pillory, and cage events still function.

I use POP and DCL and POP scenes work in prison

but I have DCL rape deactivated

SL adventures uses the same rape mechanic as DCL

you could try and deactivate all other rape/force greet mods events during POP

to prevent POP NPC to get distracted

I also use POP and DCL, but I use Adventures as well and all three work together for me just fine. You may want to check and see what level crime you were arrested for. That changes what happens in the cell while waiting.

Anybody help pls

Use POP 4.03

check if you have all requirements (and the requirements of the requirements)

test your setup on a new game (best with a starter mod like LAL to give your mods time to load)

if the POP MCM doesn't show up on a new game start something went wrong

you can try and move POP in load order up/down or remove mods till POP works

check if other mods fail to start their MCM, if you have a mod in your load order that fails to start on game load it will also prevent POP MCM to show up

yes those bloody NPCs are everywhere xD

maybe some prank on the jailor from those tricky NPCs or bored Guards

I go invisible on the stairs in Solitude, and that's the only place so far where the prisoner in the cage is always in the wrong place. Solitude is just odd I guess?

I was updating from 3.60 to 4.03. Got CTD whenever enters Dead Man's Drink in Falkreath.

Switched back to 3.60, and it works fine.

Tried to place POP esp at the bottom, still CTD.

Could anyone else confirm the bug?

edit: just tried 4.01. Works fine

I fixed the MCM issue thingy, now it's just a matter of POP Arrest Animations not working, I have to put my weapon away early enough so I can put my hands up and put them behind my back, he approaches me, Stands there staring. Same thing happened to my friend until he updated the new requirements which I did the exact same

So I tried this, had it installed in NMM and all and it doesnt seem to be working?
Is there anywhere specific it has to be in the Load Order to work?

> check if POP works on a new game

> check requirements and the requirements

> check if other mods in your load order don't work

here is my load order with a working POP:

green = files related to pop

red = not sure if those maybe change stuff in the blue palace and solitude jail and effect POP scenes like that (and other mods)

yellow = testing

blue = changes guard dialog, handle with care, mod should be above POP

than it's time to check if POP works at all:

to check if it's only the scene that got stuck and not the whole POP try:

> POP MCM, debug, choose "skip player scene"

this should teleport you right to prison where the jailor takes over or continues with the next POP scene

> you could try to reset the AI via SUM

> if it happend during the transfer to prison after the arrest scene you could try and use "skip walk" to prison (in POP MCM), should teleport you to that jailor right away

if nothing happens after skip player scene or if the arrest scene is always borked, than you could create a papyrus log and post it for Inte to look into that issue

(best way for Inte to see where POP got stuck)
