Sounds like you need to clean your save.

I did it when installing the latest 6d version :(

this game never ceases to amaze me how it succeed to fuck up things that shouldnt even be possible ....

anyway, I was correctly released from that prison run at least

The bug where you sometimes get sent to another city for punishment has been in PO since forever, I wonder if it can be fixed. Since I always use the fast forward option, I just live with it, although it can be a problem if you end up in a city where you also have a large bounty and they want to arrest you. I use the "force restart" MCM option after every release from prison, this seems to reduce this event, but it still happens sometimes. The map issue you show is just a skyrim "feature", assuming you have the teleport option activated. When you teleport from an exterior to an interior cell, your position on the skyrim map doesn't update until you go somewhere exterior again.

thank you! I was on the verge of giving up either all hope in that game or my sanity.

I do remember having had to use the "force restart" after each arrest in the past, because otherwise I wouldnt get properly arrested again, so I guess it's just a continuation of that problem. though the misslocation bug was a first for me.

thanks for giving me a bit of my sanity back.

I've posted some screenshots as it's easier than a long rambling explanation.

Basically after a stint in jail the skill points have been reset to 0 correctly, however the player level has dropped from 19 to 18. This is probably correctly calculated but as a perk point and 10 stat points from either Magica, Health or Stamina have not been removed this allows a cheat as the player effectively gets an extra perk and stat points beyond what they should have when they level up next.

Best way to fix this is not let the player experience level drop I think.

You can disable PC XP drop in MCM, just set it to -1 instead of -2.

Yes, but it doesn't drop at all then iirc.

Ideally it should drop in proportion to the lost LSP as it does at present, but if the LSP>LXP then the LXP loss should stop at zero so the pc is at the beginning of the current level, otherwise it makes her more powerful rather than less.

So in the case from the sceenshots the pc level would remain at 19 with 0 LXP

Okay, let me see if I understand,

◾LXP - level experience points - the progress bar between level numbers (in the skills menu).

◾LP - level points - the actual level number.

◾SXP - skill experience points - the progress bar between skill points, shown bellow the skill number.

◾SP - skill points - the actual skill number, i.e. "67 Archery".

So if SP > LXP then the LXP should stop at 0.

I cannot compare SP to LXP, apples and oranges kind of thing.

When should the LP drop, then? Right now it drops with the amount of LXP dropped.

My apologies, I'm not explaining myself very well here.

If you look at my screenshots the amount of SXP deducted was enough to reduce LXP to less than zero so the LP dropped from 19 to 18.

What I'm suggesting is that the LXP is still reduced in the same way as it is now but once it hits zero any excess is discarded so that the LP does not reduce.

So going back to the above example what I would then have ended up with is SP the same, the LP the same, LXP = 0 and SXP = 0

This then avoids the extra perk/stat gain when the character re levels to where they were before.

Oh, got it.

Here I've made some changes, no time to test atm. Maybe you can?

Change the "Level XP Reduction" to -3, that will activate the changes.

I had an interesting interaction with this Prison Overhaul, Skooma Whore and Devious Cursed Loot (had one of those pesky corsets that doesn't like to get removed).  I was attacked by a dragon in Riverwood, which was defeated, but pissed off the guards with a relentless force shout and got arrested and had on heck of a long walk to Whiterun, but at least I had Lydia as company.

Once at the jail for processing, I was turned over to the jailer, this is where things start to derail.  The jailer noticed that I'd brought my own restrains and removed them, but only the prison collar was added in return. My character was naked otherwise. Instead of going to get the cell we immediately leave the prison to go on our little walk of shame through Whiterun, probably because I only had 4 hours of jail time remaining from that long walk (total jail time 10 hrs).  During the walk a guard came up with the forced dialog from skooma whore, that I had one hour to beat it or be arrested.  Anyway after that the jailer stopped walking.  The guard that had escorted me from Riverwood was returning to his post further away and my character began teleporting between the previous escort guard and the jailer. The whole time Lydia was following as well.

Yep that works perfectly :)

Ermm, there seems to be a strange new gag as well

Oh, good.

So I have to ask...

With that funny whizzy gag, it's not clockwork so where does she put the battery?

Runs off her Magicka.

Had to remove it.  That version is missing some properties that can spam your log. :-/

I updated to the 6d version recently and I'm seeing a ton of warnings in my papyrus log related to the second bounty hunter. This is immediately on starting a new game. Lots of "Error: Cannot call AddItem() on a None object, aborting function call"

It looks like you started a new game with all your mods enabled, not a good idea.

For better results only install the main mods first ( i.e. ZaZ AP)  start the new game, set your MCM option for those, wait a few hours in game for all the scripts to finish loading, then make a new save. Then load some more mods, rinse and repeat.

So today I learned that playing a vampire with a mod that inflicts actual sunlight damage is a bad idea in combination with prisons that'll parade you through the noonlight :P

Guess unless I get better at avoiding guards I'm gonna have to  uncheck the parade and pillory punishments.

Thanks a lot for keeping this mod going!

A little feedback and some smaller bugs.

I wanted to try if there is a difference between high and low bounty. I had a new character with 5000 bounty on her in every hold. Only a regular bounty hunter came for her for days (not a PO one, or if he was, he was quite weak, no magic wepons, etc). Maybe because the bounty was set up by a mod (Start a Deviant life)?

Anyway I surrendered to some soldiers, but I did not see any special treatment (the PO events worked as intended). I expected the guards will keep her in some heavy restraints all the time due to the high bounty. I thought maybe they were this lenient because the character is low level.

I switched to my main character (lvl 68) and made some massacre in Riften (10K+ bounty). I then set the bounty hunter timer to 12 from 24 hours and waited some. They didn't come. I then set it to 2 hours, waited for 3, they still didn't come. (although the PO mod said in the debug screen that BHs are coming for me).

Finally after like 2 days a BH arrived. I had my sword out but he did not attack, he preferred to talk. He wore glass armor, but he was alone, so he didn't look so terrifying. I quickly killed him and looted him, there was a Daedric set on him, beside the glass one. There was also a summoning effect when he died, but nothing appeared.

I then wanted to surrender to guards, but the game crashed and I went to sleep intead. I will try it today.

The bug list. None of them are game breaking:

- during the rape events guards wear underwear

- PO Bounty hunter timers doesn't seem to update after changing it

- PO BH had an extra set of armor on him, which he didn't use

- there was a strange summon effect when the PO BH died, but nothing appeared (Update: I think the weapons teleported away)

- Guards removed a chastity belt, when the mod was set to not remove restraints. I don't know if CBs count as restraint though.

- PO BH took an awfully long time to catch up and I was basically in the vicinity of Riften all the time

- the hand cuffs (or whatever keeps her hands behind her) were invisible

Suggestions/ideas

- with a high enough bounty BHs should not try to talk. They should attack like regular soldiers.

- higher bounty should automatically raise the BH numbers

- high bounty prisoners should wear restraints between/during events, the higher the bounty, the more punishing/higher amount of restraints.

Overall the patch is really good, this mod was mostly useless in its original form, thanks for picking it up.

Hi Inte,

thank you very much for your hard work! I just downloaded your latest patch 6e and was curious enough to open it in TES5Edit.

When I "check for errors" I receive

  • 2 errors for the FormIDs xx04C026 and ..27 as well as
  • 4 warnings with "quest alias not found" - xx043539 in the original mod and xx00EFF7 in your patch esp..

I'm not sure if you are already aware of those? .. might be something to have a look at   ... somewhere.. sometime down on the endless todo list  ;)

Hm, the 2 errors are from the original, I will look into them eventually.

The others are AI packages I was playing around with, but decided not to use, I will delete them in the next patch.

Thanks for the latest patch Inte :)

Think I'll write a book - Guide to Skyrim's Best Jails :D
