They are two separate mods, with the second being an addon to the first. A page or two back is the latest posting of my troubleshooting guide for this mod, which has all the prerequisites that I have found, some are not listed in the readme.

[/quote'] I KNOW I installed both... Maybe something else was causing the crash? I'm having some crash issues recently. I need to start removing mods I think. I dont have much. (Still got the weird black eye bug...) does the 'beta' end at flogging? Or am I stuck in a loop?

If you know how to fix the black eye bug (i've heard of it before but I dont know how to fix it) do you think you could PM me what to do? Sorry.
Reigor Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 The only way I personally know of that works without going in and editing the racial eye paths in the data folder is using wyre bash and using its bashed patch. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 To be honest I havn't used the latest version which apparently has a bug with BOSS but there IS a fix posted on the wyre bash description page. If you keep having problems feel free to PM and I'll see what I can do to help.

[/quote'] I probably wont be asking for any help, but I don't mind people offering. GSBModders and MtM and others have already provided several resources to the mod. And if I have learned anything about oblivion scripting so far is that looking at someone else's scripts for help on how to do something tends to waste more time than it saves. As an aside, I actually already have the tent instance code working fine. I just don't like it. It feels too "magical" in a sense for a random slaver to carry around a pocket dimension of a tent with him/her and just plop it down where they see fit. The behavior once inside the tent felt too "scripted" as I said before so I chose to mix it up a bit. There are innumerable ways to solve this, or just work around parts differently. I have, I think, come up with a good middle of the road design that mixes outer world locations and interior instances to create a realistic, and enjoyable playthrough. Some events occur in exterior locations only and others occur at interior locations only. A similar issue on this "realism" front I have been working around is the availability of slaver carts to specific slavers. As it stands right now, specific camps will have carts staged and ready to go once the slaver/player arrive. This took a bit of scripting and work to get it right, but it is better than the alternative of having the slaver magically conjure up a cart and horse from thin air. I don't really want to get dragged into a disucssion of lore/realism beyond the fact that for me to have a playable and enjoyable experience it needs to feel alive. I spent what time I got this weekend cleaning up more scripts and working on dialogue/lore in the mod. I really don't want to give an eta for the next release, but all of my major issues have been resolved.

In the end, people want to make them feel at ease by assuring them that they're waiting, when in fact it just makes things worse, for the author will undoubtedly notice how many are expecting them to succeed. Individual expectancy will add a pinch of pressure, and when coupled with so many others, well it'll become THE pressure that everyone is afraid that will end up discouraging the author. The closing comment is, I think, well meant and I might be a little guilty of it myself. I posted earlier to say that the poor guy needs a bit of space to complete his creation in relative peace. It was also intended as a reminder to thomthom that some of us understand how it is for him as a basic principal that art cannot be hurried and that the only true measure of it is the artist's own satisfaction. As a very young sculptor, I was told by a much more experienced artist, "make what pleases you first and your appreciative audience will find you." He was right, though it was a harder lesson to learn than I thought at the time. Thomthom, I am still content to see your work when you are good and ready and not a moment sooner. Meanwhile, I have plenty of projects of my own to be getting on with. Cheers

[/quote'] I definitely did not intend to completely shut down discussion on this topic, as I apparently have. People who have ideas or questions not relating to being unable to do something in the test mod have perfectly valid things to contribute and should very much do so. That said, if the alternatives are either a litany of "X is broken!" and "any updates on the status?" posts, or no posts at all, I think for thomthom's sanity we should strive for the latter. In the spirit of contributing or going home, I had an idea: would it be at all possible to integrate this into the truecrime mod or the loverspaybandit mod such that the slavers will pay bandits (or groups of bandits a'la truecrime) with the player's body, rather than just fighting them?

I also changed the conversation tree so that the bandits would just make fun of the character and then the conservation would end. It didn't work very well (the conversation part at least), my mod skills are very lacking, but its doable in therory. Once the next release comes out, I'll try again and if it works well I'll post it.

The way thomthom has been putting this thing together should make it fairly easy to create a plugin for his framework that does exactly what's been described.

Once caught by the slavers, I'll be naked and the heat index will have all kinds of random NPCs stalking me, which really isn't realistic and could work all sorts of havok on the scripts. Should be easily fixable by using a faction check or something similar. Although I admit in one of my runs with the current demo, Lamurard decided to Joburd stalk me during the walk of shame, which was pretty funny and not completely impossible. Looking forward to the next release

Posts on this thread will give more details. btw - the slaver girl didn't disappear, she's your character's bodyguard and she was killed by some of those monsters that attacked you (which is why she was no longer with you). [/quote'] The slaver girl probably got stuck, it happens to her alot, i preferred her not being there because if she actually got into a fight and lived she just constantly heal spams which is annoying >.<
Rogue13 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I did read... but his description of the camping and auction does sound like its gonna be a movie, which is fine, but after the awesome movie there has to be a gameplay or else I'll be sad. The 2nd slaver should be god strong, cause at level 50+, she seems useless and I had to use console commands to kill all enemies. Even at level 1 she seems useless right now... Apologies someonenoone11, my bad! (and don't be sad (from what thomthom has described so far I think you'll be pleased).
