Hi, I thought it might be useful to stock contraceptives in shops, so I added them to most of the vanilla Alchemy stores. I don't know if someone else has already done this or not, but I couldn't find it with a quick search so here you go. Of course, these are edits anyone can make in a matter of minutes, but I'm just posting it here for convenience.

I half-assedly made it lore-friendly in that some stores stock more or less Medium contraceptive (all stores that stock contraceptive stock 10 Low contraceptives, but they might stock 0/5/10 Medium contraceptive).

I chose Alchemy stores over General stores since I feel like they're the closest thing to being a pharmacy in the Elder Scrolls world. I didn't add Anti-Sperm essences to it because I feel that it'd be too easy a solution to the "I forgot to take the pill" issue. Of course, none of the original BeeingFemale mod is modified.

The contraceptives are a little expensive for a new player, meaning you can only sustain them through prostitution or by abstaining until you can afford them otherwise.

This is my first mod so I'm sorry if I screwed anything up. Let me know and I'll patch it when I can. I'm 99% sure the edits are all clean since it was a very simple mod. Feel free to request extra features, if they seem reasonable/balanced gameplay wise I'll add it to this too.

By the way if milzschnitte wants me to take this down, just say the word and I will. Also feel free to do whatever you like with this minor change if you want to make changes yourselves.

I've linked to the file in the opening thread. For sure I don't want you to remove it. Many players are waiting for it :)

hi Milzschnite,

Enjoying this mod greatly. A Few things though occurred when i used the spawn actor option,

attachicon.gifchild.png

is this suppose to happen, my born child (on left) went from child height to half size

This is another bug, but it will change soon back to normal.

Thanks Huili for the translation :)

That's funny actually, I didn't think it was a bug!  I figured since the kid had been born recently; it would necessarily be smaller than the average Skyrim child.  My bad.  Loving the mod!

RS Children don't need a path.

RS children will overwrite all children, so to BeeingFemale children.

Hmm I understand this, but the thing is my newly born children actor didn't look anything RS, They all have default Nord faces and looks like adults with child body, while they are "working" and all they still looks totally weird..

I have possibly found a bug in BeeingFemale 1.14 and 2.2b. The script BFA_AbilityEffectPMSDepressive tries to change the ActorValue "HealthRate" which does not exist. I guess the value "HealRate" was actually meant.

Papyrus Log:

[02/22/2015 - 11:31:52PM] Error: Actor value "HealthRate" does not exist.

stack:

[ (0001A6AB)].WIDeadBodyCleanupScript.ModActorValue() - "<native>" Line ?

[None].BFA_AbilityEffectPMSDepressive.OnEffectFinish() - "BFA_AbilityEffectPMSDepressive.psc" Line 23

The attached fix can either be imported with NMM or Mod Organizer (Mod Organizer not tested) or it can simply be manually extracted in the proper folders.

Your right - thank you.

Well, I've added controler vibration function - in the third trimester the fetus may kick and the controller will vibrate.

It seems I'm to stupid, but I can't get the "Meet place" work.

My son took my horse!  My 3 sons were following me on a trip to Whiterun.  When my child comes near a horse which I own he will get on the horse and follow me.  This is good, because the little guy has a hard time keeping up with me on foot, but when I arrived at my destination, he wont get off the horse.  I tried talking to him, but there was no dialog choice like "get down off the horse son and follow me".  If I tell him to wait he just sits on the horse.  I went into Whiterun thinking he would dismount and follow me, but he did not.  When I left Whiterun with my other 2 sons, my daughter, and Lydia, "horseboy" was sitting outside and tried to follow.  And then the physics went crazy.  Boy and horse flew up into the sky and started galloping around in the air.  I travelled down the road with the rest of my family and my airborne son  thinking it might settle down and he would come to earth, but every time he got close he would go flying off with "Pegasus" again.  It was funny to watch but I didn't dare save the game in such a state.

I don't have any follower mods or mods affecting children, and the only horse mod is "Primitive horse breeds" which changes the mesh and textures but doesn't affect behavior.  Am I overlooking a command for telling my child to dismount from a horse or is something else wrong?  For now, I just don't go near any horses I own when my kids are in tow, but it would be really nice to let them ride if I could only get them to dismount on command.

No idea if it will work, but can you bring up the console and click on your son and the type in 'Moveto Player' (without the ' of course).  Merely to see if he gets of his high horse, har har.

Worth a try, no?  :)

Tried moveto player, but nothing happened, probably because he is already standing right next to me.  I did get him to dismount by telling him to wait, and then saying "no, just wait" instead of telling him he could play, but as soon as I move out he gets back on the horse.  Thanks for trying though! ;)

This wasn't planed, but I've tried it and your right, one of my boys is on a horse and won't come down.

I will create some functions... like "Activating the horse" and a dialogue. Right now I see 2 options.

1. Say "Wait" and when the child unmount, you must jump oin the horse and ride it away

2. Sorry to say that, but kill the horse

You could also try to say "Be serious, just follow"

Ah, that's a shame.  Clearly you need to lay down some ground rules for him.

It was nothing -- literally, seeing the result.  But you are welcome.  :)

...

A thought here, in addition to what milzschnitte said, what if you kill the horse -- and then use the console command 'resurrect' on it?  Perhaps that will work?  Or even 'recycleactor' (though that might remove your ownership, I have no idea).

I wouldn't use the latter on your kid either, since I believe it reset actors to their initial state.

This has probably been mentioned before, but there is a mod called "grow up in skyrim" which simulates aging through the leveling system.

Perhaps that could be made to work with your children from this mod, so that eventually you can have combat effective followers?

It could probably be modified to be based on time spent in skyrim instead of leveling.

It also makes for some cool roleplaying possibilities. :D

I've posted this comment 2 times, but noone seems to have noticed :P

Anyways, I'm trying again. Would just like to get some response!

Has this suggestion already been discussed?

Oooh...  I'd love to see that, but is it doable?  Would be grand, though, would it not, if it were, it would, were it, no?

Take this mod into account, add in Body Types, (gives options for several body types in 1 game) and it has a teen body and skeleton for all the common races, lots of extra scripting, and, years of in game time for the kids to grow up... As long as it doesn't effect their leveling I am all for it.

I hadn't replied till now, tho I had seen your post, thought it was a glitch the 2nd time round.

I think that even if it is "RP" it is better to stop the growth of the children at the age Heartfire.

A population of "Skyrim" increases up to the age of it after pension while the other one would not age?

It is better to concentrate on passage of the baby to the child addon. In my humble opinion. O.O
And that baby grows up later X time in the game by taking into account for example " wet and cold Holydays"

Careful, you may give someone the idea of a Everyone is Born, Age and Die in Skyrim mod.  ;)

But yes, if this mod at some point can age up our wee spawns of cuddliness to adult, that'd be awesome enough (they would be "young adult" and we would role-play "adult").  :D

It's a good a idea for an addon for another start in Skyrim. A little life with your dad and mum before to begin a youg adult to become a prisonner of Helgen.

But i prefer to not grown up and to rest an adult with my little kids and lovely husband (Bishop ) XDD !

Do you got an error message or papyrus log file?

Which version of BeeingFemale are you using?

All I understand is:

You got a problem with BF and you guess it has to do with the script BF_StateWidget. That's sad, but not very helpful.

Posted

So, I updated to 2.2b, started a new game and now the StateWidget won't show up.

While trying to find the reason I added some debug lines and realized the MCM recognizes the key change, but the other scripts never do (added Debug.Notification and Debug.Trace to FWWidgetController Events OnKeyDown & OnKeyUp, don't show up in game or in the log)

But I do get this when changing the key:

warning: Assigning None to a non-object variable named "::temp29"
stack:
    [SKI_ConfigManagerInstance (36000802)].SKI_ConfigManager.OnKeymapChange() - "ski_configmanager.psc" Line 179

I also noted that you have identical hotkey properties in both FWWidgetBase and FWWidgetController, both with write access on KeyStateWidget in FWSystemConfig.

Anyway, the StateWidget still doesn't show up, the key presses don't register and I kind of don't want to mess around even more in your code ;)

So please advise on how to fix this. (I'll adjust your script once more, to see if _AllowHotkey in FWWidgetController is actually true, which is needed to RegisterForKey (AllowHotkey also has duplicate entries in FWWidgetBase & FWWidgetController)

Edit:

Found the problem! You have duplicate updateConfig functions in WidgetController and WidgetBase. WidgetController register for key, but never gets called. WidgetBase only unregisters and gets called A LOT!

Nevermind that, looks like your 2.2b is not featurecomplete (for whatever reason).

You never register for any keyEvent, changing your source to do that yields no widgets, even forcing the onKeyEvents to call all 3 of your widgets doesn't do anything.

So either your source files are different from your compiled files and I had a completely different error or you somehow undid your 2.1b changes and removed a very good feature.

When it comes to the matter of aging, I think a little suspension of disbelief is necessary :P
I just think would be really cool to be able to spawn your own, (eventually) combat effective followers :D
Although if there was a mod that simulates time passing to a greater extent, that would be awesome.

Ever since "Alternate start", the main quest doesnt really begin until you want it to, so its possible to have time pass as you raise your kids till adulthood until it finally starts.

Or god forbid you play like I do and set everything to realistic.

My ( ingame) wife who I have been married to for three (ingame) months will soon be having our first child soon.

Ive never even seen helgan yet lol

Question:

Is there anyone who's not using the DLC "HearthFires"?

Btw: I hope the next version (non beta) will be released this weekend.

Right now, many things are working. Still got some problems with "Go home" and "Go to our meeting place", but the most important thing is working (the combat kids ^^)

Some many bugs are fixed, too and a selective NPC Reset (and NPC cheat) function is included now. The next thing I'm adding is a Child Tab in the MCM menu where you can open the information window to see where the child is, ....

Another thing I've added are Scrolls to call for your children where ever they are (I must admit, I've lost my own children a few times to often, and after I've used the scroll for the first time, I saw some of my children I've totaly forgot that they exist ^^) Right now only a few are added to the inventory after installing/Updating BeeingFemale. There isn't a way to buy or create them. Maybe someone (Bijapo ^^) can add the scrolls to a shop.

Ok..

For the children summoning scrolls, you could use an item recipe, roll of paper, inkwell, quill, and make it at the forge or tanning rack. Glad you found all your children with the scroll. :)

I use Hearthfires myself. While thinking about it, perhaps in another update, you can include the adoptable children to be the same as your own children, that way you can get all the children off the streets? Of course it's not required, but just a quick thought.

Nice info, thank you.

And I use Heartfire :)

Can Dragonborn be senile? So hi/she forget his children?

I love the shop, that is one good and needed plugin as BFAP :)

Is it possible to have those plugins in the main pack, so it is some option for installing them?

That is one good thinking.

But is it possible to do?
