While we are here at Skybound Watch, is there any point to the place? What I mean is that, as far as I know (which might not be very far) it doesn't get you anywhere. You still have to do quite a bit of scrambling down the mountain to get to the road behind Riverwood. Is there a secret exit which I have missed for four years?

The only part of note that I can see is that North Skybound Watch has a pedestal  for the Destruction Ritual Quest, which I've never done as I've never reached 100 in any of the casting disciplines but especiall not destruction since it's the weakest of all.

But the actual Pass, no it does nothing, you can reach NSW without going through it.

It's got a little treasure - nothing terribly exciting. It is, however, a handy place to pick up a PAHE slave.

Destruction is only the weakest until you get the Impact perk at level 40. I normally reach legendary in Destruction at least twice in every playthrough. I also routinely do the Destruction Ritual Quest but that is for completeness. Practically speaking, it's a complete waste of time.

Maybe I will make that my next challenge, at high difficulty levels (Master or Legendary) Destruction pales compared to Illusion or Conjuration. That is mostly due to the fact that the difficulty doesn't affect NPC's and that is what you are using with those Trees and at the level 40 or 50 point of either things are normally getting easy and I started looking at other play throughs.

I agree BUT when you hit your opponent with a two-handed Destruction spell with impact they stagger. So, when that giant charges you can kill him from a distance. As always, as a mage, the greatest difficulty is against other mages using wards.

Thanks! That's the best I've gotten since Inte gave me a potato.

Chicken and a potato - do you have any recipes for that sort of thing in Kentucky? ?

You throw it in a frying pan with a little moonshine and you have a delicious meal.

Something from my current game, perhaps?

What is this structure?

Spoiler

A bonus if you can give me the precise name of the structure and the name of the location where I must have been to take the picture?

At a guess, I would say you are standing on Fort Sunguard and that is the tower that is separate from it. It's just a guess, I will have to take a look.

Edit SunGuard Oubliette... Which I thought was a dish made with eggs but I guess not

Damn I didn't see GC had beaten me

No worries. With a little luck I'll run across something for tomorrow.

Here's an easy one - classic Psalam. There are three structures here to identify:

Spoiler

1. The one that has a blue arrow pointing at it,

2. The one that has a red arrow pointing at it, and

3. The named location I have to be at in order to take this picture.

2. Northwatch Keep

3. Pinewatch Tower. Rimerock Burrow

Well done, indeed. I think you'll make a superb addition to the College.

Have some avocados!  ? ? ?

I've not been near Skyrim for about three months but somehow I'm better at this game than when I'm there every day.

Having said that, I'm getting ready for another play-through. It's a question of priorities and 'first things first' so I've just installed 5 new followers. ?

Well trying it with Destruction as primary involved a lot of running away and not a small amount of, what GC calls, "Cheese Tactics" like introducing wolves to mages.

Picked up Fury which helped with the very large groups of wolves I get.

Using the Atronach Stone left me with a few moments of just standing there casting with both hands infront of a novice or apprentice doing the same.

I do very little damage to them but the Atronach stone reduces some of the damage done to me and replenishes my Magicka. So Heal in one hand and Flames in the other... Not the most exciting or involved fight, who'd have thought there would be a time when a mage pulling an Iron Dagger would have you running for safety.

But, the greatest threat were Thieves, due to Bethesda's racial profiling/stereotyping these are almost always Dunmer and with their 50% fire resistance and my reduced damage I can't scratch them and so far I've no combat skills to speak of. Lots of tactical retreating.

I now have Frostbite as well so they will now rue the day they ever tried to steal from me.

Well go on, Thieves! Start Rueing!

I prefer sparks. You're right about the Dunmer and, if you go to Solstheim, there is a whole island of them. Sparks drains an opponent mage's magicka which I find very useful.

Any takers?

I'd say Morvunskar but the road under the arch doesn't look right in relation to the broken tower with the cooking spit. It's not Gallows Rock as the tower there is way up high.

I'll guess Fort Neugrad as I haven't been there for a very long time.
