It doesn't ctd imediatley. loaded a save where my pc was wearing a belt and plugs (to test if it worked.) then I loaded a different save I walked around whiterun a bit. sold some stuf. fast traveled to honeybrew meadery. walket to the bridge near the meadery. and bam CTD. repeated it a few times. same effect.

or it shut down after 3 seconds after a save opened.

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? really liked the mod and would like to use it again! PLEASE HELP

few things to mention:

1. xbox motors don't get a whole lot of juice, so replacing those motors with something else... you'd probably be better off with using batteries still.

2. as they say, if you ARE going to use batteries as spacers to make sure the wires going to the vibe touch the springs and complete the circuit, make DAMN sure those batteries aren't exposed or else you'll fry something

I'm a bit surprised I did not notice this a bit earlier. Anyway, I do not think that is good advice, since it is also similar to how we'd make "battery bombs", also known as "Electric Firecrackers" back in college (Electrical engineering"). Any time you use two dissimilar power sources in the same circuit, the larger will overpower the smaller, causing a potentially hazardous situation. In the case of batteries, a larger power source, such as USB, will eventually "charge" the smaller batteries to their maximum capacity, and once that is done, any more will cause them to rupture or explode. The force of the rupture/explosion and the time it takes to cause them to do so is entirely dependent on the circuit load. When we'd do this as a prank (electric Firecrackers) in college, we'd often used a AA, or AAA battery with an LR44 "button battery", and decide on timing by selection of a resistor to place between the other ends of the batteries. With no load, such as using only wire to connect two different types of batteries, it can sometimes be instantaneous, exploding in your hand as soon as you close the circuit, while on a circuit with multiple semiconductors, or using a large resistance value, or a heavier load, such as motors, it could last for minutes, or even hours before the batteries explode.

The proper way to use a secondary power source, would require a charge limiting circuit and transformer, or else (simpler and more direct), keep the circuits separate and have one trigger the other using a relay.

Another possibility is that since many common, cheap motors are about or below the 5V rating supplied by USB, a transformer with 2:1 windings could be used to lower the voltage to about 2.5Vdc while doubling the available current, but that would only work for the sort of motors used in very cheap toys, which can be run on less than 3vdc. The biggest issue with USB is the common 500ma current limitation that has to be shared by any and all things connected to the same USB power rail. In many laptops, that usually means shared between two or more USB plugs, often separate "rails" for USB ports on opposite sides of the PC. Even if no mouse or USB keyboard is used, that power is still largely consumed by the circuits inside your game controller, leaving little to spare for force feedback motors. Less if you tap those wires to redirect the feedback to any larger external motors. Although not easy to find, I have a few powered USB hubs rated as high as 1000ma, which I use often for smaller "OTG" portable devices in order to use something like a small tablet PC with keyboard, mouse, optical media drive and micro HDMI output, without overdrawing from the device's battery, while still allowing the device to charge while being used. Such powered hubs could also help to add power in many cases where something like feedback motors are a significant drain from available USB current.

All options considered, I think the best is to simply use a low power relay to switch on-off any external devices which have their own suitable power sources (batteries or whatever else, but not sharing from USB power). Since most game controllers have separate, controllable and configurable left and right motors, you could use two small relays and power two separate devices independently. High speed digital relays can sometimes be a bit costly, but likely the best option for rapid pulses and other vibe effects.

few things to mention:

1. xbox motors don't get a whole lot of juice, so replacing those motors with something else... you'd probably be better off with using batteries still.

2. as they say, if you ARE going to use batteries as spacers to make sure the wires going to the vibe touch the springs and complete the circuit, make DAMN sure those batteries aren't exposed or else you'll fry something

I did some research and according to the specs, it may not be able to handle a simpler, more direct hack of using it like a raw digital relay to substitute a motor with, and needing something like Pi, Arduino, etc, to simply control a motor and it's power source, would be a bit pricey and Goldbergian, I think. However, at a price of less than $3, it could be worth getting one just to hack around and see if it might work anyway. It's more or less just a MOSFET, triggered by a digital "Signal", and operating on 5Vcc, which can be had from a wired USB game controller.

For someone with absolutely no prior experience with modifying electronics or arduino’s what is the easiest way to make this work? From what I’m reading going through the forum here its with an Arduino and some form of addon. The problem is when I’m looking up Arduino’s there’s a ton of different types! Is there a specific type of Arduino and addon that I need to make them work together easily? Or is it as simple as finding the cheapest Arduino that I can?

And from there is it just as simple as plugging all the pieces into the computer or is there a couple steps between? I’m usually a fairly visual person but I’m thinking there’s not going to be a nice convenient youtube video showing me exactly what to do so I’m hoping for a little bit of directions to get me through it J Unfortunately this isn’t exactly an electronic project I want to hand my older brother and say make it work

Honestly, once you have a compatible device, it's almost just plug and play, you select your device from a dropdown menu, make sure skyrim's papyrus log is running, and then just press "start reading log!". I personally just use an xbox controller, can't say to the complexities of an Arduino.

Hey, to anyone interested in this mod, i've got some good news: there's been some major perverted developments in the field.
In short, a couple of guys made a universal interface, called "buttplug" (fitting) that translates simple script files to a variety of supported sex toys (including xbox360 controllers for which the main guy behind it also made a guide on how to hook up to toys):

Now "buttplug" is just that: an interface, and you need other programs to tell it what to do. So far there's 2 ways: One is for windows 10 called "scriptplayer"

I tested my program a few days back and it seems to be broken because java got updated. I am however making a new version which also works with Skyrim SE. The new version will have some more support for Arduino based boards so you can connect it to most toys.
