FoxFingers Posted July 3, 2015 Author Posted July 3, 2015 Ok, I'm just seeing if everything is working as it should. I was in Solitude when I decided to install this and I had already completed the Wolf Skull Cave quest but had yet to start Elisef's tribute. So I started the Widow Too Soon quest in the console at stage 30 and I got the objective to go and talk to Elisef and to start Torygg's horn quest. ...snip... No reason to start A Widow Too Soon at the console at a late stage. You should be able to pick it up anytime by just talking to Elisif. At least I think that's true. You just talk to her and follow along with the objectives. If you've already done the Horn that should be fine, you just go to the shrine anyways. Thanks! Oh my goodness Foxfingers this is one of the best freaking mods I swear. Just when I think its done I get another awesome quest out of nowhere. I love it thank you! Thanks, appreciate the good word. Glad it's adding to your play through.

I kinda already tried that. Didn't bother to console command it when I first downloaded the mod, just went to Elisef to start her tribute quest. But when Erikur didn't approach me as I was leaving and I got no quest notifications for "A Widow Too Soon" I figured I hadn't triggered it properly. So I decided to revert to an earlier save and console command it to the stage I thought I should be at after completing "The Man Who Cried Wolf". Ideally I should really have reverted to a save before I even got to Solitude... but that was about five levels ago and I don't want to redo all that when I could just build a new character and enjoy the mod right from the start. I'll post an update to this issue once I reach the Talos shrine and see if that plays out as it should. If it doesn't it's no small loss. Just means my current character doesn't get a shot at becoming consort to the future High Queen alongside their other achievements.
rubenibanez Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 The clone will have a different REF ID than the original. And you absoloutly need to get rid of the Stepford Taarie you've created, however you choose to do that at the console. Check out this thread. Next, you need the Real Taarie's REF ID which is 000198AC Finally, try the foolproof guide to resurrecting NPC's. Hope that helps! I've deleted the clone, "summoned" the original dead body and then rezed. Now the quest is rolling. YOU are a god amongst men. Thank you thank you thank you.
Uncle64 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Dont use console for reviving dead NPC it only get you in to trouble. Always roll back one or 2 saves. If you have asked the same question in Steam forum you do have the same answer.
Pillock69 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I still love this mod, it gives me some lovin no matter where I travel to in the world which brings me to my question, are there plans to add Dragonborn? As I'd hate to be half way through that and have to reload an older save. Keep up the awsome work. Cheers

I don't imagine I will ever add content for Dragonborn. Regular old Skyrim and Dawnguard provide characters enough for me. The voice work makes progress too slow, and I get burnt out doing it so I take long breaks. Skyrim could be 10 years old before I ever finished, probably. Nobody'd even be playing it. Anyways, the next update will add a small quest for Janessa. Thanks!

Highborn Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I just want to say that your mod is brilliant despite I'm not using it much since I play as a straight female character and she isnt a Companion. But if I start to play as a male, this will be excellent. Thanks for making Skyrim relationships meaningful and wonderful.
RealCardia Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I have a request, probably not a large one, at least I hope not. I've looked, so unless I'm real dumb and somehow missed it, it isn't there. Is there a chance that you could make a small update so that when we talk to our lovers we can simply kiss them (like you can Serana at some points) instead of only sex? If this is already in, where is it and how am I dumb enough to miss it? Thank you

Agree it would be nice if someone came along and made a Mod of male romance stories, but one has never appeared. Thanks!
RealCardia Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Agree it would be nice if someone came along and made a Mod of male romance stories, but one has never appeared. Thanks! It's sad, in Oblivion, FO3 and FONV I was a very proficient scripter and good at making quests but the Skyrim change to papyrus has perplexed me completely, along with several other changes made to the CK. I sadly cannot get my head around it at all. I can't. Or I would do this. It's funny, I'm a lesbian so you would think I wouldn't have much interest in the hetero stuff, but I actually do, and I find it so strange that there's so few male romances (from an in-universe perspective, I certainly know and understand your reasons for not having more male romances in the mod). If I scripted (as in movie script not programming) the quests and did all the sound editing and passed it on to you, how much tedium would that remove from you, and how open to including it would you be, assuming you approved of the stories I wrote? The writing and sound editing and stuff, that's something I can do.
shardoom Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I'm loathe to ask as I know you are burnt out quite badly with adding new stuff for AA, but... Is there any chance you could add in a little something with Narri? (The serving girl who wears the tavern wench outfit and sandboxes outside the Falkreath tavern during the day) She's very pretty in my game and I always found it a little sad that she doesn't really have much of a purpose... It's no biggie if not, just thought I'd ask.

Creating coherent stories out of splices of the original voice actors sound files ... that is the challenge and what takes all the time. The scripting, quest building, scene building, testing ... that doesn't even compare to the time sink that is creating the voiced dialogue. If this was a silent mod I imagine the mod would have a vast amount of more content. But silent... and to me it's the voices that really give it impact. Hearing the emotion in the character's voice makes it more... dare I say it... Immersive. Anyways, yeah, having the voice files and dialogue to plug in magically appear would make things a snap. Thanks!

But I agree she is a character needing a little development. And all of Falkreath really is pretty dead as a zone compared to others. Thanks!

Thanks! I will give it strong consideration then. I need to come up with a couple of good stories. For NPC candidates, I'm thinking: Thoring, the depressed widower who owns the Windpeak Inn in Dawnstar. Erik the Slayer, the kid you help get outfitted for adventuring in Rorikstead. I'm iffy on him though, for several reasons. Pretty sure they both use non-unique voice sets. I'm willing to take other suggestions on which male NPCs would be interesting to interact with, but again I'm not convinced I will do this. I want to, but acknowledge that it's a huge time sink and my time is limited anyways. Still, I have a deep desire to see this done, so we will see. any characters I do would not be characters with unique voices though, I want the biggest pool possible to pull from. EDIT: I suppose my biggest question involves Thoring. After the quest, he would need to change his default greetings to normal ones instead of depressed ones, and stop having conversations with his daughter as she tries to get him out of his funk. Is that possible?

After the quest, he would need to change his default greetings to normal ones instead of depressed ones, and stop having conversations with his daughter as she tries to get him out of his funk. Is that possible? Well, if you ever get to the point where you want to do that, then PM me. I will give you an archive of the Voice Type's sound files which have already been renamed to the lines of dialogue (for easy searching) and are prepped for cutting. And, believe me, that all by itself will save you a huge amount of time. Huge. Really. It took me awhile to write a program to do that for me. As for Thoring, I never, ever touch Bethesda's game forms to change them so no - at least in the context of this Mod - it's probably not possible. All I ever do is create a unique quest line, give them a few affectionate Hellos at the end and then leave them to the fate Bethesda intended. Basically, I make the story work with the character Bethesda gave me - and that's a fun exercise in creative writing all by itself. Thanks!

Valerica has a unique voice and you might have seen what I did with her. It's simply how much time you want to invest in chopping the existing stock of voiced lines into fine cuts of words and phrases and stitching them back together to where they sound somewhat natural to the ear. Thanks!

Shadowscale Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Quite tempting to learn voice splicing just to make the legion's commander remark about frakking Cylons.
