RealCardia Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Hey fox if you are going to start adding a load of gay or male npc content to the main plugin can you at least make it supremely obvious and easy to shut off? (like Vilkas and Farkas) Or even better can you put it into a separate addon plugin? It's not gay if you're female. I can't say what Fox will decide regarding my quest but it's very easy not to click the dialogue option that starts the quest.

Loverslab is absolutely chock full of female pc related content though, AA was a lovely little oasis for people who like to use male pc's around here... Still, I could condition the dialogue to not even appear at all if the pc is male I suppose, if Foxfingers starts adding a load of content for female pc's.

But, you know, I'm certainly happy to add quests the female player base submits for the mod. I think that's great, actually. I just have no interest in making the quests myself. Thanks!

No one's making you, you don't have to interact with it... but you're so freaked out that even seeing that dialogue option makes you want to alter the mod? What about the straight females that play this mod? Sure, probably not many, mostly because there's little content for them.. but should every quest in the mod have some kind of "don't show me this or I'm gonna trigger" dialogue?
Sacremas Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I didn't have any problems with the Farkas/Vilkas or Ralof and Orgnar stuff, it was obvious where it was and easy to avoid. In fact despite as a hetero male (nothing against gays, the male body just do not turn me on the slighthest bit) I've been asking quite a while now for extra options. Like unlocking Maul during Love and Death, or offering yourself to Jarl Erikur instead of Pantea... or much better entirely new quests, it just didn't seem likely with Fox's previous statements on the subject. I'm almost (okay, still herero so only almost) as exited about this as the other upcoming material from FoxFingers's side.

My legendary dragonborn, who has beaten to death with his bare hands massive dragons and fucked all the best looking sweethearts across Skyrim would NOT appreciate some dude showing him romantic interests, it literally doesn't make any fucking sense. The DB is super famous, as are his exploits. Realistically a guy would have to be clinically insane to try and come onto him and not expect to be losing his spine in an extremely violent manner. As far as should mods have condtions to check for pc sex/sexuality? Of course, that is just standard. In fact Sexlab itself has a built in sexuality system that could probably be used in this situation, perhaps it could be something Foxfingers could implement. So you know, females and homosexuals can have the dialogue to take it up the arse from Vilkas and Co, while straight dragonborns can be left alone...

It's a bit of homophobia if merely the chance of being shown interest by the same sex even if you don't have to do anything with it freaks you out.

Anyways, anything I write for this mod is completely optional and the player is the one who pursues it. The NPC makes no advances until prompted by the player (the way I wrote it). Strapping beautiful heterosexuals frequently get hit on by gays in clubs, maybe even while having an opposite sex partner on the other arm. What's the stretch then of it happening in a world relying largely on word of mouth, where if you have a female with you she's probably dressed in armor and with weapons and doesn't need to be your lovebunny at all. Fox's quests with all four male options in the mod already are all player-initated as well, neither Vilkas, Farkas, Ralof or Orgnar shows you any interest at all until you flirts with them or ask for the attention.

If someone is attracted to someone else, being "obvious heterosexual" doesn't mean they won't try - depending on the person trying the seduction. Besides, I think your (character's) "obvious heterosexuality" is just a mask - you(r character) really wants some "man-lovin'" . Homophobia - "irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuals or homosexuality". In other words, so scared of turning "the gay" that seeing anything gay-related (in a game) bothers them. Seems to be an apt term. So you think that every dialogue option in the game is automatically something that goes through your character's head, that he doesn't have any choice in becoming a cannibal or vampire or werewolf or demon worshipper or kill Paarthunax or whatever the fuck else just because the dialogue option is there? I*m starting to worry exactly how you calmly reacted to that gay guy to make him accuse you of homophobia which led to the fight.

Sacremas Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Sure, it's your game and you're free to do that (as far as I'm concerned you can put whatever the fuck you want in your own game, a dungeon filled with nothing but naked boys won't harm anything but your own psyche) it just seems a bit pointless, considering it looks like at least 2 more updates will be put into this mod, more if the wonderful Carida will keep working on it. Doing this will mean going in and disabling each of these things in the creation kit and looking up these thigns you're not interested in not just in your version of the mod, it means doing it all over again whenever a new version gets released.
shardoom Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Takes a few minutes at most using Xedit... When done in the merged patch as an override nothing has to be repeated, simply updated for the new stuff. I honestly don't particularly care if you don't understand why a straight DB wouldn't have these dialogues as options as opposed to a gay/female having them. It just makes sense honestly, but whatever. I'll likely never roleplay a homosexual character but a female possibly, and the conditions will then allow the quests to play and it'll be new.
