I think so too.

Honestly, some of these Nexus modders and users are being massive jerks, toxic to the point of threatening people with doxing just because they won't update. They are constantly bootlicking Bethesda.

Pff, let them. I ain't going to update just because I find that armor pretty. (Leave it to bethesda to keep the FIRST armor that looks nice behind an update you don't want.)

Nothing in AE that modders haven't done before. For everything else there is BEES 👀

Srly, Skyrim has become just a sex sim or souls substitute. Why would I even want bootleck survival mod if frostfall, campfire and hunterborn exists 

And since I am only doing comics and most my characters barely wear clothes (🥴🥒) fuck it~ Got the whole base game on a backup drive for exactly this eventuallity

I actually still play Skyrim actively (mostly for the new modded locations and quests) but otherwise, I agree. It’s the modding community that keeps Skyrim alive. "Bugthesda" doesn't care; it’s as if they’re deliberately trying to antagonize the players. And anyone who enables this and gives people shit for not updating is a fucking asshole.

Good thing I bought the game on GoG. Just disabled auto updates and don't have to deal with their update stupidity.

Fortunately, there is a solution for the Steam version, and I made a backup of my entire game library in case anything goes wrong.

After staying on 1.5.97 for 6 year, I finally decided to update (mostly so I could use the creation kit in form 1.71, but I also thought I wouldn't have to care about future updates any more). After rebuilding my modlist for the past month, I finished it just yesterday.

 

Someone at Bethesda must have noticed I was finally past their previous bullshit updates and pushed for one more. 10 fucking years after Special edition came out.

At Bugthesda, everything is about money.

I also ran into two game-breaking bugs in Oblivion Remaster, and since I play on XBOX, I couldn't even get by with a code. Several days of gameplay were wasted.
But the point is, it's now available for Nintendo Switch, so who cares about the bugs...

This. Now this is a thing where they could finally put some wanted work in. But nope.. Fuck it. Pc Modders will fix it for them like they always do 🥴

(No bethesda game after morrowind would've survived without the fixes their community worked on.. Skyrim wouldn't even have made it game of the year with that excuse of a storyline and repeatative  gameplay)

Can anyone refresh my memory on where to find the "appmanifests" folder (I think that's the name of it) and what the app number is for Skyrim SE/AE?  I had made FO4 read only a few years ago so I'm still on 1.10.163.  I think my SSE is up to date with current version, but would like to protect it for the time being.
