Who is your favorite follower.

I, for the most part hate having to keep track of a follower in Skyrim, but sometimes it's nice to have a sex partner along.

Wen I do bring a follower...

When playing as a male Mayte is my number one choice! She is good with sword and shield, plus she has some real good mage spells, she also follows wherever I go without needing any adjustments via MCM through my follower framework, just add an outfit, sword & shield and play.

She also uses your installed body mesh without needing to add mods to "Convert Her"

When playing a Female character I use Galendor, from "Pride of Skyrim 12" https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/43539

He has an Elven War axe and Elven Bow with elven arrows, is very handy to have as a follower.

From those, my favorites are Rhiala and Vel.

In the base game: Teldryn Sero. With mods taken into account: Xelzaz (especially when teamed up with Remiel, Redcap and Khash) though Boudiana bears mentioning since she is the best follower for a Stormcloak playthrough (though that is practically by default since there is really only one other option for a fully voiced Stormcloak follower).

 

I'll have to actually try out Shadow Tamer Lily for a while to see where she ends up ranking when all is said and done, as there are not any other followers made specifically for intersexed/hermaphroditic player characters.

I almost always adventure as part of a quartet, bringing Sofia, Inigo and Auri (Song of the Green) along with me.  Once in a while, if I want to include a vanilla follower, it will be poor Lydia, who just doesn't deserve all the hate she seems to get (even if she does block the damn doorways too often!)

 

 

There are a couple of other female followers who I'm looking forward to trying though - Remiel and Aniya, as well as Ashe and Serana (from SDA by Martimius).

 

Honorable mention to Misty Skye, who has hilarious dialogue and funny quests.

As for a vanilla follower I have to go with Frea she has no level caps can dual wield she also heals herself. Frea is a tank in battle give her some good gear and she will never bend a knee in combat.

The best follower?

For me personally -> RECORDER

Yes - she's pretty "clumsy" - a "big klutz" (she "leads" Alduin to Helgen in the first place!) ... but that's exactly what makes her so likeable to me.

And since she's actually an outsider - who even breaks the "fourth wall" - she's a perfect fit for my "isekai" character... who also has rudimentary memories of his "first birth world."

My favorite follower is a genderbent Cicero (Cicera), shown in the middle, after mods during the Dark Brotherhood questline.  My favorite vanilla follower is Serana.  Otherwise, I usually adventure alone.

If you're into devious or vampire playthroughs, the best follower is Morana from the Circle of Lust, a LL mod.  She's a dominant vampire and becomes a devastating opponent for anyone attacking her and her pet.

 

Or if you want more of a Luke Skywalker learning the ropes type of playthrough choose Professor Ben Doon (a Nexus mod).  He's old and crotchy - complains about the weather and how shitty bards are (he's a bard himself), but holds his own in a fight.

 

Both followers are voiced, different from the usual follower template and add a lot to the game.
