i just want something to scratches the itch for a awhile i means sims is great but can get old after awhile so something new might be good :)

Online is almost certainly for social features and genAI features. I highly doubt that the game actually requires an internet connection to play. We've certainly received no such indication from the devs.

The game will be moddable. The founder/main dev of the game has said that he admires the relatively open modding nature of the Sims community.

Can we get a forum for this game after it is released and it's clear that there is an intense modding interest? We have dedicated forums to both Sims 3 and Sims 4, both are quite old at this point.

I've played many life sims including shovelware and almost none of them compared to The Sims, although Singles 2 was a good effort for its time.

I would mention others that came close, but they aren't relevant.

Now we are getting more competitors, and sadly I will not be able to play inZoi due to the hardware requirements. I believe that many people will have problems too.

Most players of The Sims don't have top of the line hardware, and this will be a barrier of entry.

I remember hearing that even the rigs loaned to beta testers were struggling with the performance. I don't know how true that is.

Hopefully the game has optimisation, but there's only so much you can do about that.

I also hear conflicting reports on whether the game is going to be online-only or at least phone home to the servers.

There are strong indications that inZoi will be single-player, though I wouldn't mind a multiplayer game, and I actively wished for something like that in the past.

The main issue is that servers always end up closing down after a while. I've seen many virtual worlds and MMOGs shut down over the years, unfortunately.

And to be honest, while a multiplayer life simulator would find its audience, the majority prefers to have their own experience without interruption from others.

If you factor in the use of sex mods, having privacy is crucial.

(Imagine if a scene was ruined because a random player got involved, or if someone judged you for partaking in erotic activities).

I don't know how moddable the game will be, but I also hope that there will be freedom in this aspect.

I wish success to the devs. I am mildly familiar with them because of their other titles, and I know that they are capable of making something good.

You often see posts where people are promoting these games that cannot even be reviewed yet. Is there even going to be support for mods?

Considering this game is by Krafton I am highly skeptical. Like with most South Korean games, the only thing that makes it stand out are the visuals, which I admit look amazing. But other than that, I'm very wary.

InZoi has released the development roadmap for 2025 after Early Access goes on sale next week and has interesting bits included in the three scheduled major updates:

May     • Mod Kit (Maya, Blender)
August    • Mod Updates
December • Mod Updates

I am surprised they will release Mod Kit so soon. Reading the complete roadmap it seems the game is in no way near final release readiness.

I hope this doesn't mean they'll be capitalizing on mod creators even before their game is out. At least Bethesda had the decency to do this AFTER they've released their games.

I think its great that mod support comes so fast. I think it might be needed if you want ppl to move from Sim4 to Inzoi. I can imagine lots of Sims 4 players on this forum have spicy mods and might need motivation to move to Inzoi.

Telling there will be mods from the start should attract alot of Sims modders. Personnaly this kind of game only interest me when there are mods else they are kinda boring. What else would I do on this forum anyway ;)

Thing is Inzoi doesnt have to invent anything, just do the same as sims will suffice. Most what I saw in the teasers was nothing special just way way prettier sims, the teasers also looked  so GTA 6 ish. Anyway you could say this game is what sims 5 could/should be. I always found the sims in sims 4 ugly so I sure hope this game will be a success (with mods).

Its good thing they put some pressure on the sims. I know the sims since nr1 and they got lazier/greedier by the number.

Bethesda was saved by the modders and it was not for the first time. I remember what a mess skyrim was at start and how ugly the males/females were and still are if you dont mod ;)

I even think I had already alot of mods before the official mod tool was out.

I will have to see that they manage to get the game to run properly with Unreal Engine 5 they are using.

If they are smart they will try to passively benefit from mods. Meaning more people buy their game.

Right now I can not see anything they do better aside of the graphics. That just isn't enough to dethrone another game.

one thing that has me over the hills happy about this that the feet, toes specifically (not a feet guy but a graphics snob) wont be square in shape, that drove me crazy with TS4. Otherwise the graphics snob part of me is really going to enjoy the Hyper-realistic graphics of UE5. Did i see a first person perspective in one of the videos too?

I don't know about TS4, but for the other Sims titles, there's custom content to make the feet look more realistic. (Search for Bloom's SexyFeet).

And TS4 has a first-person camera, but it's a bit wonky.

InZOI looks very true to life. I always wished for a game like this to some degree. I normally use realistic skins on The Sims (though not hyperrealistic).

I'm not a modder myself, but a 3D Artist who provides 3D models for modders to use to create mods. So i don't know much about modding. But what i do know is that hyper realistic games like InZOI are a bit harder to mod, because not every 3D artist can do hyper realistic textures. I'm learning that myself in case of horse coats currently. Really challenging. So there will surely be adult mods, it's just a matter of time. Modding is easier with a game specific modding tool like Creation Kit for Skyrim or the modding tool for KCD2. But it's not necessary. Afaik simple model replacers are easier to do than new animations.

Anyway, i'll be happy to see a sex mod for InZOI! Thumbs up for every modder who wants to try it!

The question is not whether there will be mods; the question is whether the game will be worth modding. The game is made with Unreal Engine 5.4, which makes it really easy to mod. On the other hand, looking at the game's source code, it's clear that it will have built-in mod support, from the typical mod structure to integrated systems for mounting PAKs.

How should we understand this announcement? Does it mean that we can only use mods in their workshop? They seem to be intentionally prohibiting file modification

Look what I found. A forum dedicated to inzoimod!

I am not the creator or member of this website. This website currently does not publish any valid content. If you try it and think that the game is worth modifying, you can go and check it out.

I declare again that I am not the creator or member of this website

That means they don't want people to crack the game(make it available for free). It would be a shot in the foot to forbid mods.

They will be releasing a modkit based on UE5, and already have a modding documentation.

But, seems like they will scan the mod folder, guys. Ugh.

That would be a NO BUY.

I am not familiar with modding at all, but what is scanning the mod folder? How does that not allowing NSFW mods exactly? DAMN. If Inzoi not allowing NSFW mods, I AM OUT.

Denuvo itself. The anticheat part of Denuvo is in InZoi, and will be scanning the mod folder. If the InZoi team finds any mod not allowed by their TOS, they will go after Patreon to take down the mod.

I won't be buying this until we see how this all plays out. I'm Sure someone will figure out how to bypass the mods scan. Thats completely asinine to do to begin with. I get not wanting the game pirated and cracked but controlling the mod content will likely cost them in the end. By cost I mean the loss of a potential game purchase. Better question is how will this scan work? If they really want to compete with the Sims, this is not the way to do it.  I'll just wait and see, Until then, no game purchase for me.

Exactly what i said some posts ago, they are doing things like Hogwarts Legacy devs did.

Well, there were and still are adult mods for Hogwarts. It may be that we will just have to wait for someone to find a way to stop denuvo's phone-home function. But really the bigger issue is that gaming society at large is somehow ok with programs like Denuvo existing in the first place. It's basically purpose-built maleware. Look, I'm not a fan of piracy but if companies want to use programs like this then they deserve to have their games cracked and pirated.
