2 cents here and I don't know if it was proposed already:

make it modular? the idea is great, but some people might not like the whole package.

Don't worry about it, I plan on having MCM options to enable/disable every single encounter.

It just won'T be out for 0.01 though, as the first esp will only be one encounter, so if you don't want spiders, just wait for the next version lol

This is basically my dream mod! Can't wait to try it!

In the first post I think it is mentioned (I am not good at reading English so might be wrong, sorry) the event would happen in a special-made dungeons to make things run better. I am not modder but how hard would it be if scatter sort off one way dungeon exit, like a spider web cover tunnel or collapse cave exit, all over skyrim, so when you leave/escape you are in put next to that, in the different place each time, naked with no equipment, sometime still tied depending on creature. Would add some more danger even if you escape if you have Sexlab Victim installed to. Difficult to get clothes back quickly!

Just my small idea, if you do even a couple of ideas in this thread the mod will be great. I wish you well and good luck!

Actually, the original way I meant it, was to put the encounters is some very specific places, in dungeons that are already in the game. As an example, a spider encounter could happen in Cronvangr cave (just go there, you'll see why it makes sense :D)

Rest assured though, I plan on having another spider encounter sometime in the future, that would go a lot differently. Your idea is actually a very good way to make sure people don'T get in without starting the encounter, as putting a locked door may limit what I can do with it.

But now that you mention it, I could make some events end up in unique,  purpose-built dungeons. Actually, for the human encounter of 1.00 I think I'll have no choice but to do that. Maybe some freaking big tower or something. Believe me, it will be an INSANELY big and deep encounter! I'm overwhelmed myself at what I already have planned for it, and I'm not even at half the planning job! :D

If you only knew how much I love hypno scenarios...

<3 If only I wasn't so crap at modding...

Honestly, I'm learning to script as I go. This is also why the first encounter will be so simple (well, in my opinion, as it seems to be deeper than some quests in Vanilla Skyrim lol)

This is basically PlayerSlave from Oblivion, but for Skyrim. Neat :D

I must admit that Playerslave Encounters was a huge inspiration, and I never play Oblivion without it. Makes fights much more tense

Could be a pretty good way to summarize it, actually, but I'm going in a bit of a different direction. Whereas PSE was about being forced to be a sex slave, I'm making various different perils, with some not being about sex, others focused on it.

now that I think about it, one can go beyond just intergrating Estrus Chaurus. considering the base of the mod, why not asking jbezorg if it can be used to as a base for the spiders part?

I'm rather hesitant about that part. I aim to make it compatible, yes, but I don't intent to go further than that in terms of having both mods working at the same time

Now, if he actually asked me if he could use part of the mod, I don't think I'd have a problem with it, but I want to focus on making the encounters, so linking mods will probably not come until at least the 1.00 part is done.

Also, keep in mind the the spider encounter, at least the one I'm worjking on right now, has a definite end (several in fact). You're not stating webbed up until... forever, you know. So that one would have to be heavily modified in order to work with SD in the way that jbezorg wants it to.

Again, if he wants to use some part of it, it's not a problem, but I'm not working on that.

Look, basically I aim to get as much stuff as I can using as few ressources as I can. Maybe when this is developped enough, I'll think about merging it with other mods. There is quite a lot of potential, I see it. I just don't want to make a half-assed attempt at integrating a mod because I'm not skilled enough.

oh no, I understand that. I was just thinking if it was possible to simply take a shortcut. :shy:

Oh! Now I get it lol

Well, I plan on having pretty static scenes in the encounters, so I don't know how how well his scenes would play with mine.

It would be pretty interresting to see once both are a bit better developped, as so far SD2 seems quite a while away (is there already a thread about it?)

Might end up asking for it I end up wanting to use his framework, as I don't use any preset system right now. There's no leash planned, for example.

And once my mod is a bit further developped, I definitely see the perks of either one of us helping each other out, I just don't know if that'll ever happen. Making a mod is quite a lot of work, and requires careful planning. I don't want to start a collaborative thing where I wouldn't be able to bring anything to the table either.

So, yeah. Maybe later, when I am better at it. My future in modding is still pretty blurry for now, as I could give up everything just as much as I could make it to 4.00 of this mod, or even make several other mods, I really don't know, and I don'T want to plan any further than HID 1.00 for now.

Okay, so now that we are talking about the spider encounter which is already getting scripted by gaggedgirl, how about this:

Since I assume that once you get caught by a spider in a way that it leads to the possible "spider bad ending", the screen will fade to black and you will wake up all wrapped up by spiderwebs deep in their hive. This makes sense as I could imagine that those spiders that live together in big numbers in one huge cave would have a special chamber in which they store their captured and already cocooned prey, keeping it fresh until they want to eat it, also preventing it from escaping (so it would be deep down in their hive).

One idea could be that the Dragonborn still is in her complete gear (as the spiders aren't smart enough or anything to strip her naked and take away her weapons) but has the cocoon "equipped" as an item.

It would play a struggle animation (or if you don't have one you could do it without it and justify that with a rather tight cocoon, giving the Dragonborn barely any space to struggle and wriggle - although I would recommend an animation, it makes the entire scene way more dynamic) and while you are in the cocoon it would slowly deplete your hitpoints. You could as well use the spider sex animation to start it off before the Dragonborn gets cocooned, so you get a clue WHY you are going to die if you don't act - as the eggs are slowly hatching or something like that.

Once the Dragonborn is cocooned, she is left alone in the prey chamber - maybe there would be other captured women that struggle and corpses / husks of already sucked out humans, but no other spiders. This is when you could press a button (or any mechanic of randomness) and each try had a low chance to break the cocoon and let you out (based on lockpick / some kind of weapon skill?).

The Dragonborn could leave the chamber and as she still has her gear on herself, she could fight her way out of the hive. And yes, I mean fighting her way out as she was brought to a chamber in the depths of the hive. This would still make it difficult to escape, adding this aspect of peril and therefore the need of taking care not to get caught in the first place. As you fight your way out you could still get recaptured and taken back to the chamber, again in a cocoon and maybe with a lesser chance of escaping each time you try, as the spiders would make sure they tie you up tighter - until the chance is so low that escaping is pretty much impossible, triggering the bad ending (death because the eggs hatch or you will be kept for breeding forever).

Don't know if that is what you imagined when you came up with the spider encounter or if that is even possible. :)

hmm, in addition to what you posted, how about this:

if male, you die when the eggs decide to go chestburst on you, end of story. if female, you get the breeding with no death type, with a twist. the longer you stay as a broodmother, the weaker you get until you are nothing more than a living egg sack, a husk of a human, unable to do nothing else but spawn eggs. maybe a "weakness" effect that drains magicka, health or stamina, or all 3. escaping the cave, means than with time (couple of days woth of resting), the stats go back up slowly, maybe coupled with the vanilla prision time debuffs you get.

my idea of the spider encounters anyway.

And I do understand what you mean with peril being underused in games. I mean, sure, danger is everywhere in quite a lot of games, but what games actually make you LIVE the helplessness of a character? There are some, sure, but there's not a lot. And it gets even thinner when you take away games where these situations are made with cinematics.

And not only does Skyrim also fall in that category, it definitely has quite a lot of situations that could have been expanded upon QUITE A LOT.

Yeah, i thought a bit about it, in games in general is too hard, at an abstract level in grand strategy games you can nicely continue till the absolute downfall, especially in the paradox games like the EU and HOI series. There you can have a nice rise and fall of your empire.

But in RPGs usually you just die but it doesn't matter since you have to reload then and defeat is without consequences.

No, no! never stop! I don't have much done yet, but already your suggestions have helped shape what I DO have planned out, so please, don't stop!

Seriously, everyone's suggestions have made me realize the scope I could get to with such a project, I hope there's even more to come! :D

Yeah, there have been many great  suggestions already. I get more ideas every day too and get hyped more and more :D.

Yeah of course that could be a rather simple one. Now that I think about it, I could make a mix of some more basic encounters as well as some more elaborate ones.

While the basic troll encounter will probably look like that, there would also be a longer, more elaborate one with a story, probably a quest to go with it.

Yup, I think a good mix of both will do even better in terms of immersion! :D (I say this as if my spider encounter was really long... it's not lol)

Making many encounters of very different length is a great idea imho. Some encounters also should have a level requirement, only affecting strong heroes because their fame has grown enough to attract the interest of more powerful beings. That leads to one of my new ideas:

                                                             D³/DDD/3D(Dastardly Daedric Deeds)

Eventually the dragonborn will become famous enough to be a desired plaything for the daedras. Those would be bigger quests, maybe with multiple paths. Sanguine is already represented well enough especially with SD and Alicia. But some other daedric princes(ses) are similiar tempting.

                                                                                                Boethiah

So many possibilities. With his love for battle he can start giving battle quests. But eventually one of his other traits will also be mixed in.

Uespwiki

Boethiah (also spelled Boethia) is the Daedric Prince who rules over deceit, conspiracy, secret plots of murder, assassination, treason, and unlawful overthrow of authority.[1] Boethiah is also known as the Prince of Plots,[2][3] Deceiver of Nations, Queen of Shadows, and Goddess of Destruction.[4] Boethiah loves competition and battle, and is depicted as a great caped warrior, often in a stoic pose.[5] Though typically depicted as male, Boethiah is occasionally referred to as female,[6] though such distinctions are irrelevant among the Daedric princes

You could easily make a dozen interesting quests. Boethiah would start very friendly first so he can enjoy the hero(ine)s downfall even more. Eventually he would ask you to betray or murder all your friends and as backup if you refuse weave secret intrigues, either totally corrupting you or slowly driving you insane.

I'll stop with this for a while though, because the possibilities with many of the daedra are endless, but i have other smaller ideas.

                                                          Escape Option: Pray

If you are in a situation which seems hopeless you could pray once a day and ask the Aedra and Daedra for help. They might really help you, but at a price which can be even more severe and will lead to new quests. Chances for successful prayings should be a bit higher if you either prey to an enemy of your captor or his possible master. So begging Stendarr for help against vampires or werewolves would be an idea, or in case of the werewolves Hircine might also be interested and deem you worthy for some games. Praying should only be a last gamble and by no means guaranted success, or at least toggleable as hardcore option in the MCM.

                                                                         Curses

This could be a nice unexpected surprise in quite a few scenarios. For example if you are a notorious lady killer or seductress the betrayed spouse manages to apply a curse on you that changes your gender. More powerful spouses, like in case of jarls, could ask the court wizard for help. For further humiliation they could add an additional curse that makes you very desireable for wolves, spiders, bears or other animals. If you would travel in the wilderness you could add a script then that occasionally spawns some of these animals near the player.

Especially Daedra should also love such plays, like the following scenario:

                                                                      Victim's Victim(DDD)

A powerful humanoid foe will try to capture the hero(ine). If successful, he/she will start torturing the player, beginning at a very low level, but slightly always increasing, but obviously without joy and apologizing. For a few hours every day the torturer disappears though. You can also occasionally talk to your torturer, and if you pick the right questions eventually you will discover why all this is happening. He will confess that recently the love of his life died in a very tragic way (Molag Bal's work actually, but the torturer doesn't know), but Molag Bal suggested him a deal: If he captures the dragonborn and tortures him for his amusement in increasing and varying ways every day, as a reward he may see his love for a few hours in Molag Bal's realm Cold Harbor at the end of each day. If the dragonborn dies/escapes or Molag Bal gets bored he will end the deal and the worst part of the deal was also that the torturer had to promise his soul to Molag upon his death. Molag would not kill him though because he would enjoy watching the torturer suffer and beg for death.

So when you finally discover the reason behind your distress you will also have to make the rough decision what to do with your torturer who is actually pitiful.

The first part of that is actually pretty much what I intended, although there are others ways than being captured by the spider directly.

Thing is, for what I had planned you would actually be considered as strictly being a means of breeding (if female). Althout being stored in their "food chamber" would be even more tense. I might in fact have to do it that way! (Nothing to modify yet, I'm still only writing the beginning sequences, before you even get captured.

I think those two paragraphs just made me rethink the whole encounter lol. Actually, to add even more flavor to it, I think if you get recaptured, then you should get disarmed. 3rd time goes the armor (or the opposite order, or random)

Also, I think the "death because the eggs hatch" would be a lot better with the chaurus encounter. I plan on making the restraints a little looser on that one, so that would at least give the player enough time to escape and get help. With the spiders, you're pretty much immobilized, and that's BEFORE attempting your escape lol.

Don't know if that is what you imagined when you came up with the spider encounter or if that is even possible. :)

Honestly that's even better than what I came up with. Now that I think about it, I was thorough when it came to how the encounter would start, but the way I wanted to make the actual encounter was rather "meh"...

hmm, in addition to what you posted, how about this:

my idea of the spider encounters anyway.

Well I thought about making the male being used as food, while the female would breed, but I think this might be even better.Edit: just thought about it, and I think I could use both of your ideas at the same time.

Basically, at first, the female will go through exactly what you described, but if she tries to escape, and it recaptured, then she gets impregnated with way too many eggs at the same time, which would kill her as she would give birth.

I want a drider transformation.

MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Honestly, I am thoroughly looking for a spider-hybrid race, which would trigger should you get lucky (or unlucky) in the encounter. Thing is, so far I didn't find anything. I've still not let up on the idea though. If you find anything, please let me know! I'm dying to make this!

And I do understand what you mean with peril being underused in games. But in RPGs usually you just die but it doesn't matter since you have to reload then and defeat is without consequences.

I think the worst is that in most of these games you can actually SEE the effects. An NPC got bitten by a werewolf, then turned into one. But the player? he could get his whole arm taken from a wolf bite, and a HP potion would revert everything, no risk at all. I hate that.

No, no! never stop! I don't have much done yet, but already your suggestions have helped shape what I DO have planned out, so please, don't stop!

Yeah, there have been many great  suggestions already. I get more ideas every day too and get hyped more and more :D.

I really think nothing will come out of this without suggestions anyways lol. I'm good when it comes to having projects and seeing them through, even if I do take my time, but originality isn't my strong point, I'm too logical, too straightforward to really create anything by myself.

Yeah of course that could be a rather simple one. Now that I think about it, I could make a mix of some more basic encounters as well as some more elaborate ones.

Yeah I do plan on having some stuff made depending on your fame, which is pretty much only represented in the game by your level (forget the main quest, most people don'T even do it lol)

Actually I think Sanguine still has some interresting situations to make, even if that means he'd get himself/his realm involved... *wink wink*.

                                                                                                Boethiah

So many possibilities. With his love for battle he can start giving battle quests. But eventually one of his other traits will also be mixed in.

There was always one big problem with the player being corrupted: how do you make gameplay with it. It's tough to just tell the player "hey you should make bad stuff instead". Though there might be something to do about consequences... I'll have to think this through lol

                                                          Escape Option: Pray

That is a VERY GOOD idea, I always completely forget gods, probably from being an atheist myself, but I forgot in TES they actually do something lol

Molag would not kill him though because he would enjoy watching the torturer suffer and beg for death.

So when you finally discover the reason behind your distress you will also have to make the rough decision what to do with your torturer who is actually pitiful.

Would make a very good story, I might just use it. I'd also like an option to not escape lol.

You guys are really awesome! Thanks so much!

Well, I like a bit of variety too :D If I can sneak in a ring gag and a ball gag, I probably will, but only where it would actually make sense for the captor to have those.

Hogties are 100% in, just not in the encounter I'm working on presently

hmm, in addition to what you posted, how about this:

if male, you die when the eggs decide to go chestburst on you, end of story. if female, you get the breeding with no death type, with a twist. the longer you stay as a broodmother, the weaker you get until you are nothing more than a living egg sack, a husk of a human, unable to do nothing else but spawn eggs. maybe a "weakness" effect that drains magicka, health or stamina, or all 3. escaping the cave, means than with time (couple of days woth of resting), the stats go back up slowly, maybe coupled with the vanilla prision time debuffs you get.

my idea of the spider encounters anyway.

Well I thought about making the male being used as food, while the female would breed, but I think this might be even better.Edit: just thought about it, and I think I could use both of your ideas at the same time.

Basically, at first, the female will go through exactly what you described, but if she tries to escape, and it recaptured, then she gets impregnated with way too many eggs at the same time, which would kill her as she would give birth.

good night of sleep got me another one:

as a reward for managing to sucessfully escape from these encounters you gain a perk. on the spider's side, perhaps a perk that gives you a small but permanent frost resistance stat boost or something. call it "spider's web". Chaurus for example, you gain a tiny armor rating boost, or poison resistance, etc etc etc

This thread is platinum.

I'll add my 0.02$.

For possible scenarios:

1. The Taste of Death. Namira and a bunch of cannibals in a dungeon. What could possibly go wrong?

2. Random Dragon Cultists. How about getting hit by some king of sleep spell and wake up in the Temple of Miraak? All sorts of debauchery like torturing, abusing and sacrificing to Miraak included.

3. The Dark Brotherhood. IMO, the good idea to implement it in lore-friendly way is to add or modify a random quest after you become a Listener. Say, the contact is not interesting in killing someone. Rather, they want to avenge someone, who was murdered by DB. You get to the contact, gets ambushed/paralyzed/incapacitated/etc. For the outcome - well anything from torturing to be used in Black Sacrament (it requires human body parts anyhow).

4. Vampires. Basically propositions is covered, but I rather want to point out some possible implementation w/ Dawnguard. You have all sorts of radiant quest to kill vampires. I think it is possible to create a "special" vampire through the standard template and then use it as an quest objective. Chance based. With this setup you will never know, who you will be facing - an ordinary vampire or a "nasty surprise".

As of technical implementation. You said your mod is heavily influenced by SD. I think you can ask Jbezorg politely for source scripts for SD or script helping. Also, I think WaxenFigure can help too. (Papyrus is similar to C. If you have knowledge of C, it will cut learning time a lot. In my case, college programming course in C helped me a lot (and C is not my speciality)).

Can't really say much for AI packages though. Last time when I messed with AI, it was during overhauling ERSO. I was trying to make enemies dual-cast/use master-level spells. I banged my had against a wall for quite a few hours... until the wall broke.

Anyway, I wish you best of luck on this project. It is quite a feat you are trying to pull off. Don't hesitate to ask help from guys around LL. Local community is great (yeah, a 200% lurker says it :P)

P.S. For spider encounter: I've seen a mod called Arachnophobia here on LL a long time ago. You may wish to use assets from it. For cannibals though - I think ZaZ have some resources (can't remember where I actually saw them).

Just my two pence worth regarding the issue of peril in a game.

Lets be honest, there isn't any and cant be any unless you have something you can lose. Just a thought but how about utilizing a hardcore option where one you are captured you have to achieve release or you lose character, I have no idea if it is even possible to affect save-games but if it is and player has opted for hardcore you would only be allowed one save to exist at a time. That way there is a real peril in that you would lose the only thing in a game you can that has cost anything, your character and the time spent developing him/her.

Well I mostly intended for the player to be punished for having been naive/weak enough to get captured...

Maybe award a skill up would be a bit more fair (managed to talk your way out of it? Speechcraft +1). I believe it would be better fitting, since most of these will have you escape in a weakened state, if you manage to escape

Yup, definitely a lot of potential in there

2. Random Dragon Cultists. How about getting hit by some king of sleep spell and wake up in the Temple of Miraak? All sorts of debauchery like torturing, abusing and sacrificing to Miraak included.

I'll probably work on it at the same time I work on the other "dragon priest" encounter. After all, Miraak was a dragon priest if I remember

Yeah, I remember there being a dungeon with some prisoners you can torture in there. Expanding it would be a good thing I think

And another way to start the encounter has been added! :D

My mod is heavily inspired by SD, as well as Playerslave Encounters from Oblivion, but I aim to make the situations very different. In fact, I don't intent on even having a working leash mechanic yet. Although, if I need some mechanics that he used, I'll definitely ask him.

Yeah I noticed the community was great. I nost forums you ask questions and get treated like the retarded kid from a redneck family, but here, people are just so helpful! Hell, just look at all the suggestions I'm getting!

Have you looked at Arachnophobia by Miss Leeches?  I believe it does some of the things you're looking for.

Yeah I use that mod. I aim to make it compatible too! And I believe she used an animation from ZaZanimations, right?

Honestly, I believe there is already a mod that adds permadeath to Skyrim. Ok I just checked, I haven't found one. I don't really feel like adding that for now. Maybe, and I really mean MAYBE, I'll add that later, but for now, I'd prefer not working on that

Basically, I wanted peril to the character, not the player lol. You want to play permadeath? Enforce the rules yourself. It worked for 2 years already.

[uPDATE REGARDING SCRIPTING]

First of all, I think I miscalculated the 5% I wrote on the front page, it's more like 2%. Second of all, I won'T be able to work on this for a little while, a week or two. During that time I'll continue reading and answering feedback, but I won't be able to develop the mod.

The reason for that is that I'm spending the next week or two away from home, and the computer I have access to can't run Skyrim, so I guess the creation kit is out of the question too.

Another mod was adapted from the original.  You can find it 2nd to last page in the discussions.  It adds sounds and doesn't use ZaZanimations but needs a little work.  Might also check that out.
