normal24yearoldstudent Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 hey there. kinda not related to this topic but i saw your Bathing renewed mod and wanted to give it a go. there isnt any UBE texture it seems so i did a quick conversion myself, again. I have not have the chance to test in-game yet (been away from modding for quite a while), but i believe everything should work just fine. once again, you're very welcomed to include this in your mod to make things easier for other players. not 100% sure how the mod works but looks like all 4 texture in set1 are the same file just renamed? so i only did 1. I made some mistakes with the alpha channel at first i believe, but now its fixed with this version here, i guess? this is what it should look like right? this is at 70% opacity/dirtyness, for reference theres still some issues i couldnt figure out tho. face texture is kinda fucked, if i just use the same file for everything(like the base mod), it gets distorted and looks bad. if i convert the texture as a seperate face texture using UBE face texture conversion blender project, it looks like this in-game, like, not visible at all lol. i dont know hwat to do at this point, ill just pretend faces dont get dirty ever Set1.7z

From what I understand, yes. Past dirt texture authors just copy-pasted and renamed files between DnB and BiS 1.43. And all Monoman did was do the same for each individual body part. So logically you can do what you said. That's a strange issue with the UBE face dirt. I wonder if it's an issue with UBE itself.

And the city and college have a mutual distrust/dislike of each other. It makes sense for you to violate travel permissions between the two locations. BTS, however, we can't associate worldspace with worldspace, location with location, except in terms of hierarchy for the latter. Unfortunately, WinterholdCollege and WinterholdLocation exist on the same level. So working around this design, if it is indeed an outlier, will be hard.

So working around this design, if it is indeed an outlier, will be hard. ah i see, does makes sense, i was more so surprise cuz i dont remember triggering this before( i was like on 1.18 or smth) but that could be that i never had license expire while in college? but anyway if this is working as intended ill just roll with it tho im not so sure if the guard should force a fine, and then 2 sec later checks another time.....i feel like the location isnt being saved for some reason. in this log theres 2 instance of [BM-LPO] Started Violation Check Quest, within like 30s. both for no travel permit. basically this is loading into a save which had PC in college dorm(attainment hall?), gets out, and gets arrested on the spot back to back. Prior to this, PC was in whiterun, got a permit, cart travel to winterhold, spend some time in winterhold, and finally got into the college. the permit expired while in college dorm, so like, if anything this should count as "youve been detected in a settlement" or smth right? not straight to "youve been reported missing"? How do you have your license check frequency set up? I have mine set to time interval, with the time maxed out to 300s, and no LOS check override. This way, if something expires, I actually have time to get a new permit without wracking up huge fines (with a lower time limit, I've actually gotten multiple fines back to back for missing licenses *while in the process of trying to purchase those licenses*) It takes long enough to go through the whole dialogue process of buying the permits that you can get license checks occurring at the same time. This will then interrupt the purchase dialogue with the 'Wait, I know you' crime dialogue, further slowing down the permit purchasing and garnering more fines.

Would it be possible to add the college as a 'city' location? upside - if your license expired, you would still be counted as being in a 'city' downside - there are no guards there to purchase a license/permit from If it's your travel permit that has expired, you would still wind up getting fined as you would have to travel from one 'city' to another in order to purchase a permit Also, with no guards to fine you in the college, it becomes a defacto 'neutral zone' where you don't have to worry about having any licenses or permits. Unfortunately, if you ever leave you are subject to the laws of the land you travel through/to Real life Embassy's kinda work like that

I had totally forgot that there were no guards in vanilla college. so this is why im getting arrested. theres "winterhold guards" making arrest outside of winterhold. its like a whiterun guard arresting you at riverwood for you not being in whiterun. ill do some patching on my end lol.

I keep getting slapped with huge fines/bounties right off the bat because my character doesn't have a collar to equip. Wouldn't it make sense that a guard would give a female a collar or apply the tats the first time? IIRC this is how SLS used to handle licenses. Some further reading indicates that a guard is supposed to challenge the PC the first time and equip a collar + apply the magic curse. This is not occurring. Also, despite my character being naked and having no weapons equipped, literally all of the license statuses say "Invalid" and my character immediately gets a massive bounty (fine to bounty is disabled, but new character = no gold). That makes zero sense, right? If I don't have an armor or clothing license, I should be able to just take off everything, as that is what is required without a license, correct? After the initialization, did you go in and set the various license conditions? required yes/no, cost/duration, those factors? I always wait to initialize licenses until I'm in a town/city location, then go somewhere out of view to do it so that I have a chance to get things set up the way I want them before I get seen and slapped with fines, possibly for licenses I have/haven't configured yet.

I believe what happened (reported this on discord) is that I was force-greeted by several guards simultaneously. The game is hardcoded to only converse with a single person at a time, thus inevitably one or more of the guards were "interrupted", causing them to go hostile as if I ignored them.

Thanks for trying to troubleshoot and help, I appreciate it. For now it seems the solution is to simply not engage with any guards to buy licenses until after a guard has approached and force greeted. No biggie.

It sounds like it's just a modder's utility for convenience and not exactly anything that would crucially help LPO.

Actually, you can set it up so you can equip custom combinations of devices of your preference. So, if you had the integration, I could have it so your mod equips my favorite straight jacket, ring heels and shackles if my licenses were expired and I was stopped by the guards. If you look at practical defeat, Ponzy had it so there were several sets of outfits that you chose (set up in DDE MCM) would randomly equip. Works great in POP. Its a great mod. It seems like a lot of folks here don't know about its utility. I've been enjoying it for quite a while. Edited February 1, 2025 by Tseverin
