[mod] Regula Magistri 2

There is a survey (link on Steam actuality) where devs ask player the next content for the game. They are asking questions about trades / merchant - religion and other things and this is what I've answer for the religious part @ban10(because what you've done really helps this aspect of the game) :

 

"Christiany and muslim is too boring. I either play as viking (unreformed) to have a more eventful game, create another sort of chritinay to change its tenet or use a modded religion (adult content / lewd : Regula magistri 2 on LL)."

If I'm not wrong, I think you need to be the head of your culture. if you aren't just diverge it first and then take the decision to add that tradtion

Everytime I choose a location to target in the book when unleashing it for the first time, i get game over and my reign ends. What am I doing wrong?

Here's hoping this gets updated for 1.16, because it seems like I just get crash after crash after crash now and it is directly tied to this mod.

Bottom of the load order and it crashes on launch, top of the load order and it crashes the moment I try to get the book.

Only thing I can think is that it needs to be at the top but that I need to not do any of the Roads to Power content and probably shouldn't be using the Phaze Body mod.

I have no problem in constant crashing with this in 1.16. currently playing with this. the crash frequently happened with or without this mod. and I've never put this and carnalitas at the top or bottom of load order. its always in the middle, but closer to bottom. I'm guessing incompatibilites with other mod

It seems you got it working. I'm having the same problem. Did you find out what was going on?

It might be a mod order issue, but my RM is at the very end.

After spending dozens of minutes doing mod elimination, the latest version still has the problem of crashing at a certain point in time.

Unloading this mod will not crash

My guess is that the problem is caused by the AI in the mod attempting to execute certain events that are no longer supported in the game, because this problem occurred in the second half of 2024-early 2025, and it is not a bug that existed before.

for anyone with Wandering Nobles installed, the first tree of the wandering lifestyle is missing descriptions

this is because regula magistry overrode government types but is missing the government_is_settled flag

how to fix:


in Regula_Magistry\common\governments\regula_government_types.txt:

for each government block(feudal/clan/admin), add

 

    flag = government_is_settled

 

above the color = hsv{x,x,x} line

no actually, I haven't. haven't made any more test. I just haven't played much with nomads. My best guess is that RM isn't compatible with nomad yet. I'm not sure how nomad is categorized, but its possible nomad title isn't considered as being landed. 

because one of the trigger for the decision to be shown is "is_landed = yes" I haven't tried to remove this line and test it

While it's not purely mongolia, I made a personal mod that adds a holy site religion to the steppes. I haven't tested it since the latest DLC so I cant guarantee it still works, but here it is, if you'd like.

For some reason, the Regula culture does not appear when I am in character creation, which is really annoying because not having it is pretty much preventing me from doing most of the stuff that exists with it, such as the special unit types which can only be used as a ruler if you have a few very specific cultural pillars and traditions that you just cannot get with any other culture.

I tried moving the mod up and down the list and nothing is helping, which is doubly annoying because it was there the last time I played with this mod.

 

Nevermind, I figured it out, it's just changed from how it was before since before it was set like the religion options but now they are inside of each of four specific other cultures.

With RM active, the F1 tab (the government window) for adventurer is kind of broken. The top most tab is okay but switching to the other two just showed them under the first tab so I can't see my succession list there because the space is buried under the camp purpose window

hey Ban ive been playing RM forever and I always appreciate the effort you put into it. I was just wondering if you've seen the new inclusion of the Mandala government type for the all under Heaven update coming. It pretty much revolves around the ruler being a god-king and adds three extra tiers of piety for the character to accumulate and become a worshipped deity. Just putting it out there cause I think co-opting some of those features into RM would be great.

Most likely yes, I think getting to Exarch is a bit too easy and these extra piety levels are a fantastic way to create some new ranks and make it a bit more of a challenge.
Might even try and build a new Regula government type, as new government types seem all the rage right now 🤔

Darn, I don't seem to have any crashes on 1.16, but then again I haven't release my dev version in a while,

This load order looks fine, hmmmm, I'll try and update today.

Yes, I fixed this a while back but I mistyped a desc.

Yeah I looked at this once a few months back and pretty much had the same conclusion, just too many changes for me to fit RM in nicely without needing a full comp-patch.

Yes, Famuli warriors is now a cultural tenet (though an adventurer can also get access via the cultist camp purpose)

Oh damn, I'm guessing you are playing in something other then 1920x1080 resolution?
Not sure what to do here tbh, I added an extra camp purpose which adds a row to the list which makes it harder to see whats underneath.
I wish the vanilla UI had taken this into account, maybe when CK3 decide to add another camp purpose they'll fix it,
Sorry, I don't want to overwrite more UI files and potentially break more things.

As above, yes, though admittedly my time for gaming/modding is going to be much lower from now on due to life stuff. It is what it is.

Also, I'm going to release a new version of RM (4.5.0)
Damn, I actually forgot but theres quite a lot of stuff in this version, so will mark it is a major change, I recommend finishing your current campaign before switching versions.
