[mod] Regula Magistri 2

game is still crashing. Got it working once, but still crashes.

And It crashed when I just had RM and Carn enabled. Thought it might be Mundi and Dei that needed updating (which I did). That seemed to work for the one time it ran. but crashing now again.

Does your game actually work properly without mods?

To go back to my other questions - are you using RM or your edited version of it and are you starting new games when you try with just RM and Carnalitas.

Are you looking at the error logs?

Why, in the other thread, are you asking about further editing RM when you can't get this one working?

Hmm, I was doing some testing earlier, the only issue I found was that having the Game rule "Cheri Lewd COA Designs" enabled without the Cheri lewd COAs loaded causes crashes.
Specifically, if you make a character with the Magistri culture, have Cheri Lewd COA Designs enabled but do not have the Cheri COAs loaded, the game would crash if you randomise your COA.
I believe this also crashes when CK3 attempts to create a noble courtier of the Magistri culture, which may explain why the crashes are "random".

Can you try playing RM with the lewd COA Designs disabled?

Could you also post a picture of your current Regula Game rules? Here's mine (I'm working on RM atm, which is why I have CBO and Cheri lewd COAs enabled)

First, it's CTDs, so I can't do anything. And even when it's JUST Carn and RM it still crashes when clicking play from the launcher. It worked yesterday (once, and crashed when I tried to delete a save, and can't get it to start again)

Not sure, but if that's the case there's no way I can play base CK3.

I'm using my modded version, and was seeing if deleting that event would solve the problem of the event for landed spouses not firing correctly.

Yes, and most of them are RM.

see above, trying to see if I could fix one of the crash issues.

Damn, if its a straight CTD from launching the game, thats pretty severe.
The usual cause when its a really bad crash like this are file issues.
I would verify CK3 files, then redownload and extract both Carn and RM and set them up in a mod list.

At this point you should also test running just CK3 (no mods), just to sanity check that its a mod causing the issue, not CK3 itself.
I hope you get it sorted, I don't know what else I can do to help troubleshoot this.

That doesn't make any sense at all. You need to try to play the game without mods rather than just pull words out of thin air.

Mary, Joseph, Jesus and the little donkey. Try the game with the actual unedited mods - you know, the ones which work for everyone else. Does it not occur to you that you may not be as good at editing mods as you think you are? That is basic troubleshooting.

You said that before when you had no idea that Pika's mod was throwing up errors. Why not copy and paste the RM errors here so the author can take a look?

So, there seems to be a bug. If your char has opened the book and had severasl femals read the book but dies before releasiong the keeper it bugs out on the heir reading the book and does nothing happenns. The read book notification just keeps popping up.

It seems like option is currently non-functional. You can rerun the purchase book event by running the command event regula_initialize_event.0003

Because they have different holy sites.

I fail to see why that should make them different faiths. I mean that you shouldn't be stopped from doing things because of the difference. It just seems an unnecessary complication especially as they all use the same icon.

The main reason I remember for why they were split up like that was when it was all one religion all holy sites would show as viable for pilgrimages so you could get the AI marching half way across the world. I think there were also some bugs to it as well as this set up being easier for compatibility with overhaul mods like AGoT.

Between the extremely low domain limit and the stupid duchy limit if you're a king or emperor (a duke could hold 30 duchies and no one cares. the moment he becomes a king, everyone hates him for too many duchies), the game is the seventh level of hell as far as enjoyment goes. A modded the game actually makes it fun to play. I can hold as many titles as I want, people don't care how many duchies I hold, I can have a religion with 25 tenet slots, and Carnalitas (and other mods here) makes it the one of the best porn game I've found (CK2 is the better porn game, but CK3 is the better base game, I think).

I got this game thinking it was a replacement for something like Total War: Medieval 2. The base game is not that, more like a dynasty simulator dressed as a medieval strategy game. But with some modding, it actually becomes a decent Grand Strategy RTS.

I thought that's what the error log was. I'm not getting any error message when it crashes (just a box that says the game has crashed. Do you want to send a report to Paradox?).

We are trying to troubleshoot your game not write your whiny opinion of the game.

Did you try a new game with only unedited versions of Carnalitas and RM?

Again this is fuck-all to do with troubleshooting your game.

The error log is a file called 'error.log' - you remember the file you pasted last week? This is the type of thing I was referring to when I mentioned basic troubleshooting. BTW your error file was 5.98MB with 81.3K lines of errors in a just under 6 minutes time span.

Did you try a new game with only unedited versions of Carnalitas and RM?

Your LO was about 36 mods. Of that number six haven't been updated for the current version of the game:

Infinite Domain Dec 2020

Many Crowns not Independent Feb 2022

Always Move Realm Capital Sept 2022

Recruitable Jomsviking Pirates May 2022

Remove Child Cap for Players Apr 2023 (<-- only 6 months out of date).

Remove Tradition Cooldown Dec 2022

Another six are what you call your mods but, I'm guessing, are just your edits to existing mods:

Iron Pillar Upgrade (personal mod, although it's not working. Supposed to make Notre Dame buildable by anyone and adds +20 MaAs to the Iron Pillar)

Duchy Limit Increase (another personal mod that makes the duchy cap 50 instead of 2)

Improved Decisions (another personal mod that does things like making the Archduchy of Austria for everyone and makes a few modifiers from decisions permanent, also not working)

More Personal Schemes (upped from 1 to to schemes granted by each perk)

Cultural Fixes (personal mod, not so much fixes as removing the Cultural Pillar requirement for Traditions, so everyone, for example could grab Saxon Elective)

Sanctioned Loophole Fix (yet another personal mod that allows kings and emperors to buy multiple claims on Kingdoms/Empires)

So that's about one third of your LO with big question marks.

Did you try a new game with only unedited versions of Carnalitas and RM?

very old mod

It still works. But if you check out the file that it changes in the common\traits folder, there isn't much to it. It basically changes the inbred trait to good instead of bad, and you can mod it how you want:

inbred = {
    index = 153
    diplomacy = 2
    martial = 5
    stewardship = 5
    intrigue = 5
    learning = 5
    prowess = 5
    fertility = 0.3
    health = 1.5

    inherit_chance = 75

    attraction_opinion = 30
    vassal_opinion = 10

    good = yes

    desc = {
        first_valid = {
            triggered_desc = {
                trigger = {
                    NOT = { exists = this }
                }
                desc = trait_inbred_desc
            }
            desc = trait_inbred_character_desc
        }
    }

    ai_rationality = 50
    ai_energy = 75
}

I guess you missed my post where it was a 50-50 chance of loading (literally one crash on startup, one that actually got to the game menu).

Yes I did and I'm still missing it and I'm still missing a direct answer to my question so farewell and I'll leave you to it.

Computer died on me months ago. Been out for a bit. Trying to get back in - what version are the mods updated to? 1.10 compatible or should I go back to 1.9 for now? Saw CBO had a 1.10 update.

Hi, firstly, great mod.

I have a question. In late game, I'm getting tons of spam notification on "Fasinare chain ended" and "xxx is charmed". They are so bad that every second, 20 notification will be  added (I have a big empire).

Is there a way to disable/hide these notification?
Can you tell me where in the code where I can change it to disable these events? Thanks!

Edit: looking at the code, I found this:

I don't quite understand it but I have some programming background but no experience in modding.

The 'send_interface_message' appears to me to be sending the notification toast (which I want to disable).

Can you advice on what to change to disable that?

The current version of RM is for 1.10, and I'm pretty close to releasing a new version of RM with a bunch of new stuff.
Carn and CBO were updated to 1.10, so it seems like a safe bet now.

hmm, I think whats happening is that you have the Obedience bloodline trait and the Regula virus, which results in a bit of spam as thats two messages per female child turning to adult.
If you want to remove ward enslavement messages (or any interface messages), you basically need to "pull out" the effects from those interface messages.
In the example you have, everything below left_icon = scope:target are the "effects" that you want to pull up a layer, replacing the send_interface_message function.
Here are some files in which I've done just that, you can pop them into RM and replace the original files, I've taken out the automatic ward messages and infecta virus messages.
Make sure to go into the Regula settings in CK3 via the "Read Regula Magistri" decision and set ward enslavement events to disabled as well.
