[mod] Regula Magistri 2

I suspect that there is a bug with current implementation of notification messages for "Mutare Corpus" action.

It seems that quite often the message that is shown in the notification list does not match the actual event result.

For example, in case of "regula_mutare_corpus_event.0034", the notification may say that Paelex got trait "Fecund" but actually she got "Deviant".

My guess that combination of "send_interface_message" and "random_list" does not work as expected. Randomization actually happens twice: once for real trait change and once for displayed message.

Possibly the proper fix would need to select the outcome of the event first and "send_interface_message" only after that. However it may be hard to implement.

Another possible bug:

Paelexes with Barony level titles still become Orbas on Magister death but the Heir can't claim them because to claim Orba she have to hold at least County tier title. I think it's better to allow to calm Orbas with Barony titles too.

Got another presumed bug to report: One of my contubernalii is somehow still leading cavalry charges and having torrid affairs despite being incapacitated:

The only other mods I'm using are just Cheri Lewd COAs, and CBO Vanilla with one of the several community patches that are floating around on the discord.

I've noticed this too, but have been ignoring it.

So this was answered in the old thread by ban10. I think the topic came up a few times but this answer was from page 8. I'm not sure if the fix you suggested has been tried though. I'm also not sure how to quote other threads so copy/paste it is.

The Mutare Corpus outcome is strange, what happens is that the effect runs, then it seems to run AGAIN for the message box popup, leading to two different list of effects.
One is what actually happens and then another is what you are told what happens. Its weird and I honestly think its a vanilla bug with how popups run the "random" function after the random stuff is run. Need to rethink how to solve it.

I think it would be reasonable to add tradition that allow to have more maa regiments in cost of their size. Because amount of female regiments only grow. Also whole army gonna represent enslaved regions and cultures.

Side question: is it possible to do something with clothes from different cultures? Because everyone start look the same at some point. Im sorry i have no idea how ck3 works, rm is only reason why i playing it

Better Barbershop mod?

Ethnicities and Portraits Expanded?

In short - mods.

Would it be possible to make "retire paelex" and "Vocare ad Aulicus" (call to court) accessible from outside diplomatic range? Sometimes when a paelex is deposed by one of the other paelices they end up wandering outside my diplo range so when I notice "Penalty from unlanded spouse" in my modifiers list I can't really bring them back (I can divorce her but she's still a paelex and I still have the modifier)

So if someone gets deposed and you divorce them they will change from a paelex to an orba. It's scripted to check for it either once a month or once a year and then you will lose the debuff. I do find it odd that when they get deposed they don't come directly to your court since you are married to them but that might be coding from the base game.

Found an interesting interaction with the new Palace system. It makes it impossible to build the Mill type buildings, in the county you built the Palace, provided you moved the capital there.

It would be nice to have some more Magistri buildings, so there is something to put in the final slot, and perhaps even give you some choice/dilemma, even in the High Medieval age.

One problem I'm having with RM. It makes CK3 crash on start. Anyway to fix it? The error log is attached if that helps.

error.log 5.99 MB · 0 downloads

Might help more if you gave some actual information.

How many mods. Which mod manager. Load Order.

You are using Daddy Pika's Cheat Menu which is throwing up a lot of errors.

I see. I had waited a month after divorce so it must be a yearly thing. I still wish I could use the "Vocare ad Aulicus" interaction from anywhere like the divorce interaction can. Just reach out through the connection to compel her to travel back into range.

Looks like about 33 mods on the playset I'm currently using. I'm not using a mod manager. Daddy Pika's mod isn't the problem. I've narrowed it specifically to RM. Turn it off, and no crashes. Game loads incredibly slowly, but no crash on start up. And it's gotten worse quickly and have no clue as to why. Last week, I would have to try 3 or 4 times to start, crashes on all but the last. Now it crashes no matter how many times I try to load it.

As far as mods and load order is:

Spouse Designer for 1.10

Spouse Designer - Nudity Toggle

Scrollable Character Interaction Menu

Show More Traits

Daddy's Pika Cheat Menu

Iron Pillar Upgrade (personal mod, although it's not working. Supposed to make Notre Dame buildable by anyone and adds +20 MaAs to the Iron Pillar)

Infinite Domain

Duchy Limit Increase (another personal mod that makes the duchy cap 50 instead of 2)

Improved Decisions (another personal mod that does things like making the Archduchy of Austria for everyone and makes a few modifiers from decisions permanent, also not working)

Many Crowns not Independent

Pervasive Crown Authority

Always Move Realm Capital

More Personal Schemes (upped from 1 to to schemes granted by each perk)

More Tenet Slots plus Unl Customizable Ethics (discontinued, but still works)

Cultural Fixes (personal mod, not so much fixes as removing the Cultural Pillar requirement for Traditions, so everyone, for example could grab Saxon Elective)

Faster Cultural Reformation

More Max Traditions

More Traditions v2

Recruitable Jomsviking Pirates

Remove Child Cap for Players

Remove Tradition Cooldown

Sanctioned Loophole Fix (yet another personal mod that allows kings and emperors to buy multiple claims on Kingdoms/Empires)

Subtle Seduction

Temporal Divorce HoF involvement

Temporal Excommunication

Cheri - Lewd CoAs

Carnalitas

Show All Traits Carnalitas Patch

Carnalitas Historical Slavery Doctrines

Carnalitas Slavery Reimagined

CBO

Carnalitas Mundi

Carnalitas Dei

Why not? Do you mean you are installing mods manually? How do you control the load order?

That means nothing. Ever heard of the phrase "the straw that broke the camel's back"?  You are the only person reporting CTDs "with" this mod.

How confidant that your mods are all compatible with your version of the game?

How confidant are you that you don't need compatibility patches for the various clumps of mods giving more traits, schemes, tenets, etc.? Same for the all the 'remove' mods.

How confidant are you that your 'mods' aren't causing problems?

Using the default mod order that's part of the launcher. The one that's there when you choose the mods you use.

Just did a search for Pika in the Error report, and nothing showed up. Where were you getting that?

I use the mod, and it's CTD while loading the game. I remove it, and there's no CTD. So maybe this could be the problem, or it could be just this is the one that has too many conflicts. I figured I'd post it to maybe help the mod author make it more stable.

Could you try running with a basic load order?

Just the two hard requirements:
- Carnalitas
- Regula Magistri

Then, if that works, continue adding mods to your load order until it starts crashing.
If that breaks, then try reinstalling RM + Carnalitas, fully delete it and redownload both.

Also, what version of the above mods are you using, and what version of CK3 are you on?
I am currently using
Caranalitas 2.1
Regula Magistri 2.7.1 (well I'm technically using a newer version of this because I'm the mod dev xd)
CK3 1.10.2

Yeah its an old bug, might raise it with the actual paradox devs at some point.
I think the possible work-around you stated would work, I did think about it, its just that the implementation would be very tedious.

I would need to create flags for every possible mutare effect, then make a custom tooltip function for each. Very messy and would be annoying to maintain, might look at it at some point.

Hmm, interesting, I think I'll make the claim Orba more lax in requirements. Though a Paelex needs to have a county tier title when they are dominated, I can see how a player might take away their titles and stick them in a barony afterwards.

haha, looks like vanilla CK3 adding fun to your game.
Honestly thats kind of a fitting event to what a Contubernalis is, so I actually think thats ok.
The things they cant do are:
- Inherit/have claims on land (or be granted land)
- Lead armies (they can serve as knights)
- Marry
- Leave the players court
- Have kids
- They are "Incapacitated"

They can serve as useful knights and courtiers though, and a fitting way to punish your enemies who really mess with you.

Sure, I think I can add an extra cost on top if they are outside diplo range.
Will also let you retire Paelex at younger ages, albeit with a higher cost for how young they are.

Yep, thats why its a choice to move your capital to the Palace.
I'm open to ideas for new Magistri buildings, the current set are the bare essentials.

One idea I had (that I didn't finish :() was a kidnapping Guild, that would add prisoners to your dungeon year on year (with a maximum of 3-5).
The quality of prisoners would depend on the guild building level, and they would come from nearby hostile faith realms.

That request is almost an "eww" response. I hate how long it takes for cultures to reform, and love the extra tenets from the more religious tenet slots. The Infinite domain and the duchy mod makes the game playable as opposed to Geneva level torture violations... Daddy Pika's mod does help with some stuff not covered by the debug menu. And the scrollable interface actually lets me get to the debug menu. But just to see if it's RM, I guess I"ll try that. Just not gonna expect to do anything but see if it doesn't CTD immediately.

Caranalitas 2.1 - same
Regula Magistri 2.7.1 (well I'm technically using a newer version of this because I'm the mod dev xd) - using just the 2.7 version. Although I did mod your mod to add MaA regiments to the Vigo Barracks. And also remove the Unlanded Spouse Penalty.
CK3 1.10.2 - same

And with just those 2 mods, still got a CTD. tried twice, and it loaded the second time. gonna see which mod(s) are the conflict. Starting with the Carn mods.

I'm running into the same problem - just Carnalitas & Regula Magistri, i've been consistently CTDing on loading the game whenever this mod is enabled. I'm not sure if there's something i'm missing in making sure this mod works.

I figured I'd post it to maybe help the mod author make it more stable.

Yeah, right.

Just for the record I am using:

Carnalitas 2.1

RM 2.7.1.

and running CK3 10.0.0

And was that just the two mods or just the two mods with your 'edits'? And this was on a new game, wasn't it?

Looks like there's some unexpected token errors at the bottom of the your error log. Check your RM edits for any mistakes.

Can I just delete the Add Landed Spouses Bonus (although it's more like Unlanded Spouse penalties) event from the Paelex event without affecting anything else?
