Description
Devious Interests (or DIN for short) is a mod aimed at integrating Devious Devices into the world of Skyrim by making its inhabitants aware of someone wearing them - being restrained now affects the player and the world around them in various ways, while providing the means for her to get out of (or get into even more) trouble!

 

Talking to other characters while wearing visible restraints causes them to comment on your situation and they may also decide to help or hinder you in some way. And if it isn't the other denizens of Skyrim that are putting you in a rather devious predicament, then it might your own self! You ought to keep your arousal in check, lest you end up losing control and binding yourself with the restraints you have found in various containers during your travels. And to make matters even more complicated, you may just throw away your precious and rare restraint keys in the process too! Of course unless a life in restraints is appealing to you, you may have to resort to other, unconventional methods to get them to come off. However if you do decide for the life in restraints, you'd do best to manage how comfortable exactly you get in them and learn to live with all of the consequences too!

 

The mod has many features and most of them have configurable parameters. Check out the detailed feature description and the mod configration menu for Devious Interests to learn more about them.

 

Until v1.0 releases, Devious Interests is considered an open beta. It's feature complete, however issues, errors and unintended outcomes may still happen and should be expected and treated accordingly. If you have come across any such issues or have ideas on how to improve the mod, please post them in the support thread.

 

Features
Content Toggles - Mod content that features implied or actual non-consensual acts or acts of dubious consent, and content that involves animals or creatures can be enabled/disabled in the mod configuration menu. Such content is disabled by default, and by enabling them, you are consenting to be subjected to them.

 

Configurable Restraints - You can select which restraint item types you do and do not want equipped by the mod and it will respect your choices as much as possible in every given situation. Some basic restraints like cuffs, collars, blindfolds, gags and armbinders cannot be disabled in order to let the mod keep a healthy pool of restraints to always draw from.

 

Arousal - Arousal can contribute to the chances of certain event outcomes. The threshold at which and actor is considered aroused and the impact share of arousal is configurable. By default, wearing any restraints also contributes to a faster arousal gain.

 

Restraint Visibility - Some restraints can be hidden under clothes and armor, thus others won't notice the player wearing them. Restraints that cannot be hidden include heavy bondage items, head restraints and collars.

 

Restraint Comments - NPCs the player interacts with have a chance to comment on any visible restraints the player is wearing. Can lead to other events, such as:

  • unlocking one of the player's restraints
  • giving her a random minor item or restraint key
  • activating her vibrating plugs or piercings
  • stealing her gold or keys
  • locking additional restraints on her
  • having sex with the player
  • reporting the player to the guard
  • engaging the locks on the player's restraints, if lock manipulation is enabled for Devious Devices

 

Gag Speak - A gagged player has a configurable success chance (influenced by her arousal) to be understood by other characters. Behaves similarly to restraint comments and shares the same outcomes.

 

Bondage Offer - When the player is not wearing any restraints, there is a chance that NPCs will approach her with an offer of tieing her up and taking her keys in exchange for gold. The more severe bondage the player chooses, the more she is rewarded for it. The player can also decline, in which case NPCs may decide to tie her up anyway.

 

Bondage Addiction - Wearing restraints uninterrupted for a long time causes the player to develop a bondage addiction. She gets small bonus effects after the first few days as she is getting comfortable being restrained, but after the 7th day, she becomes addicted which causes her to suffer negative effects when not wearing any restraints. Bondage addiction fades at a slow rate when the player is not wearing any restraints. Having sex will temporarily alleviate the negative effects of not fulfilling the bondage addiction.

 

Restraints and Keys In Loot - The player has a chance to find restraints and keys when searching containers, defeated enemies or pickpocketing them off unsuspecting NPCs. A toggle allows for the player to also become unwilling to drop any restraint items she is carrying (except when selling them to merchants) and with sufficient arousal, will cause her to automatically pick up restraints she finds in containers. Additionally, you can adjust when and where keys can be found - when the player is restrained, when is she is not restrained or always, regardless of her being restrained. And you can also set wheter it's more likely for keys to drop in dungeons or everywhere else, with the option of keys only spawning in dungeons or outside of them.

 

Unlock Help - The player can ask characters for help in unlocking the restraints she is wearing. Most people can only unlock punishing restraints (gag, blindfold, heavy bondage) and they also may refuse to help or end up jamming the locks in the process. Citizens cannot unlock more complex heavy restraints, you need to turn to the guards for that. Blacksmiths can unlock every sort of restraint, however they need to be payed for their services.

 

Crime and Jail - The player can get out of arrests by accepting to get bound by guards or by having sex with them. Both actions reduce/eliminate the player's bounty while allowing her to retain stolen items and getting that specific guard off her tail for a while. The player will get bound and gagged in jail, making escape attempts more difficult. Upon serving her sentence, these restraints may or may not be unequipped by the guards.

 

Fast Travel - Fast travel can be disabled when wearing heavy bondage items or a blindfold.

 

Sleep Naked - The player can be set to undress before sleeping. Sleeping in the nude affects the chances of certain events.

 

Sleep Bondage - An aroused enough player has a chance to find herself tied up after waking up from sleep. Other events like Gold Theft or Key Theft may also happen in addition. Sleep bondage will not happen in safe places, like player homes.

 

Stripping - An aroused enough player has a chance to strip naked and refuse to dress up for a configurable ammount of time. Stripping cannot happen when the player's arms are restrained. If the player slept naked, there is a chance for her to refuse to dress up for a while when she awakens.

 

Masturbation - An aroused enough player has a chance to masturbate on the spot if she cannot contain her lust anymore. Masturbation cannot happen when the player's arms are restrained.

 

Prostitution - The player can offer herself to NPCs in exchange for gold or restraint keys. Offering to have bound sex increases the reward and the success chance of the attempt. NPCs have a chance to decline the player's advances or even actively hinder her by reporting her to the guard or locking her in a chastity belt. After the deed is done, NPCs have a configurable chance to pay or not pay the player for services rendered, in which case an Intimidate/Persuade check needs to be passed by the player. Failing to convince them can have further consequences.

 

Free Use - Requires non-consensual content to be active. Nearby NPCs have a chance to use the player if they are aroused enough. Afterwards, they might decide to lock restraints on the player or toss a gold coin at her feet in mockery. If the player is wearing a chastity belt and has a chastity key in her inventory, NPCs will use it to unlock the belt and put it back on the player once they are done with her.

 

Cum Inflation - Having vaginal sex with males causes the player's belly to inflate to a configurable size and deflate after a configurable ammount of time. The more inflated her belly gets, the bigger movement speed penalty will the player suffers. Wearing a vaginal plug will prevent deflation.

Love Sickness - Certain events can add/extend the Love Sickness effect, being Love Sick influences event chances and contributes to faster Bondage Addiction gain
SexLab Inflation Framework - Body resizing for the cum inflation feature will be handled through SLIF

Simple Slavery Plus Plus - The player has a configurable chance of being sent to the slave auction upon getting arrested or instead of being released from jail

FAQ
Q: I have encountered an issue!
A: Post a detailed report of the issue in the mod's support thread - what game edition you are on, when and how it happened, what other mods are installed, what is the version of DIN and its requirements are you using. Enable logging for Skyrim and in the mod's MCM, and attach the log from the time the issue happened. If there are specific steps to reproducing the issue, include them as well. Do not approach me for technical support regarding the mod in direct messages, everything is handled through the thread. I will investigate any properly reported issue.

 

Q: I have an idea to be added to the mod!
A: I welcome all ideas, suggestions and feedback. Please post them in the thread. Every suggestion will be read and considered, but ultimately I decide what goes into the mod I develop and maintain, please keep that in mind.

 

Q: Is it Special Edition compatible?
A: At the moment, I don't plan on explicit support for Special Edition, the mod can be used as is.

 

Q: Is this mod voiced?

A: By default, dialogue added by Devious Interests is not voiced. A user-created xVASynth voice pack is available, however it's considered third party and not officially supported by me. Report any issues with the voice pack in its support thread.

 

Permissions and Credits
The permissions for this mod are open and it can be modified, patched, forked or tweaked according to your heart's content. Crediting me for the original is welcome.
Any code taken from other mods is marked as such and the permissions of the original mod apply to it.

Since the mod is only scripts and a plugin so far, there is a chance that it works with SSE out of the box. However I cannot confirm it myself as I'm not using SSE.

 

If you or anyone else has a chance to test it and report back the results to me, I would appreciate it and I'd see about setting the "Special Edition Compatible" flag to the proper state on the mod page.

Thank you for the mod.  A few suggestions:

 

Allow in the MCM for various types of restraints to be excluded for being helped out of.  For example, it might be illegal in a player's game world to remove a collar because that could help a runaway slave.  Device types could then be excluded without the player having to use devices explicitly tagged as blocking or quest items.

 

Extend the range of the Arousal Multiplier to allow negative values.  I assume that you're just adding the value to 1.0 and multiplying the arousal increase, so you'd only have to change the MCM.  Although it would be uncommon in most gameplay, a negative value would support a character who dislikes the restraints (at least initially) and is reacting negatively.  It would just support a wider range of roleplay.

 

If the restraint comments outcomes (help, steal, etc.) do not currently factor in the relationship rank of the NPC, that would be a good addition.  A good friend wouldn't steal your gold (but might be more likely to take your keys, because that would be fun).

Seems like a great mod I'll be trying it out. A optional integration into simple slavery and or sd+ would be great. Besides DEC which is very outdated I'm not aware of a mod that offers that bridge between wearing restraints and someone taking advantage of that situation selling you off or just keeping you directly via sd+. Could be just another outcome for the dialogues while wearing heavy restraints, being blindfolded or otherwise constrained.

Very good so far. I did notice that every single person you talk to has a comment for you. Maybe add a setting to the MCM so that only 25% or 50% of the time they say something?

Do tell a bit more about the exact use case of this exclusion feature you are proposing. I need to detemine if it's worth adding the extra complexity or not before I consider implementing it.

 

Currently, when a character is asked for help they are only able to unlock heavy restraints, gags and blindfolds. Only blacksmiths can unlock collars, and they only do so for a fee and when asked.

It is certainly doable and I see no harm in it. Some notifications will need to be adjusted to account for it.

I like this idea. Using the relationship ranks to account for event outcomes would be a natural expansion of the current system. Will see about including it.

The contents of neither of those mods are appealing to me and I'm not using them. I will not be implementing this in the forseeable future. However since this is the precise reason for the permissions for my mod being open, naturally anyone interested can make patch if they wanted to.

I haven't used Cursed Loot in fuck knows how many years, so the most I can say is that will probably be some overlaps. And without knowing exactly what other similar mods you are referring to, the most I can tell you is to compare their features to find out what is unique to what mod.

 

Mine is meant to be a rather straightforward and lightweight solution to the features it includes. I'm wary of feature creep and I'd like it to keep a focused direction in what I'll incorporate into it.

 

And afaik no similar mod includes a single global non-consentual content toggle, so there's that for a special feature.

Toys - No worries, was worh an ask :)

Inflation - Maybe NPCs force feed the player a potion to enhance their 'attributes'. Either permanently give a small increase or a temporary larger one?
Edit: Or NPCs cast a spell to do this.

Been playing for a few hours now on SE and am very impressed! I do have a couple of issues.

 

1) Too much happening at once. Example: Fast traveled to Riverwood. Alvor set off her piercings. At the same time she wanted to tie herself up. And immediately she also wanted to masturbate. Maybe only have one event going off at a time with at least an hour timeout?

 

2) Trying to have sex with people that you left behind long ago and they are nowhere near.

 

Example: My PC gets used by Hod. Except she's already at Whiterun and he's in Riverwood. Animation fails. I guess it shouldn't be looking for him so maybe a distance check of some kind?  Not a programmer.

 

Other example: Used by Lemkil? He's the innkeeper in Rorikstead. My PC was located in the wilderness far from Rorikstead. Animation fails.

 

Anyway, I really like this already. Keep up the good work!

SLIF is an obsolete appendage of Sexlab. Its meaning of creation is a crutch \ bridge (whatever you want to call it) between different mods in matters of filling the belly or something else. Right now, variables pass through morph_body. Body morphing is supported and promoted in all modern fashions, and the intermediary itself, like SLIF or its likeness, disappears.

 

 

morphing support and the creation of a certain slider support config will save you from requests like "Breast and Butt Inflation" and raise the mod to the stake.for those interested, it will reduce your need to answer something like "... I like this, but I don't like this, and then I won't have time and the mod will fade...". On this site there is already a cemetery of hundreds of hectares with similar "novelties", but if you don't invest in them a deposit for the future growth - the flower will wither and sink into history (if they remember).

 

The functions in your mod duplicate the functions of other veteran mods \ old-style mods (fill_her and others), which in turn are required in other mods. What recommendations will you give to those who have old-style mods on board their assembly?

 

This is my personal observation and reflections on mods in the Sexlab environment for many years, if you see an insult in this comment, then I recommend that you stop reading and never return to this post.

Just tested in LE and SE. Seens all is working. But have strange stunning periods between dialogs and sex, even camera is stunned. Had not spotted this before installing this mod. Where may be problem?
