Chaas Paike Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Thanks a lot for this guide. It is very usefull. - I miss some kind of mods, like vampire, werewolf, combat and DLC Sized mods, but i like the part of landscapes, especially with seasons. - There isn't any love for the player home mods. - Lux has a patch for Daedric Shrines AIO. Thanks again. I will use this guide as a base for mi first profile.
ritalmao Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 (edited) I did not install every mod in this guide but I followed it pretty closely for the most part. After running xlodgen and dyndolod now my map looks like this: Spoiler Notice the weird graphical glitch around the lake, this is true for all bodies of water around Skyrim. Any ideas what's causing this and how to fix it? Edit: btw i don't see any roads, wasn't this the entire point of Far Object LOD Improvement Project ? Edited February 8, 2023 by ritalmao added spoiler

Vampire : Undecided yet which one to use. I'll propably end up with 'Better Vampires'. Werewolf : We got 'Moonlight Tales' Combat : Disregarding 'Precision' (in test phase) everything i want in there already is. DLC mods : I'm waiting for the ones from 'Beyond Skyrim'. Makes no sense to add things now only to replace them later. Player homes: Some are already in, others might be added once i can buy them. Lux : Now they finally got the patch? OK, i'll check it once DynDOLOD is finished. @ritalmao Pics belong in spoilers! I'm rerunning DyynDOLOD now. I've seen it too and it should have been covered with the roads patch. But it looks like LOD32 is needed for the roads to appear (which is deactivated in DynDOLOD 3). Working on that and i might have to use another mod on top of the terrain creation. I absolutely hate having to rerun DynDOLOD! Edited February 8, 2023 by Aylis
wollboi Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Huh, yeah I noticed it too but figured I messed up on something.

Maybe fix one of my biggest annoyances in this game, causing a nuclear explosion every time you sit down at a table. Been using that for a couple of days now, and even gone with the beta of the animations in the teaser. Seems to be working fine, and not causing any problems.

Unless I've missed an update somewhere. Theres a bit of a conflict between "Ryn's Sarethi Farm" and "Landscape Fixes for Grass Mods", in the form of floating wheat and a possible navmesh issue around the farm sign. Also a hole in the ground you can walk through.

OK, i'll check it once DynDOLOD is finished. - Vampire: If you want to keep a vanilla Style, "Better Vampires" is a good option. It does not add many things, but is very customizable through its MCM MENU. - Werewolf: Sorry, i did not see it. But currently, there are some mods for Werewolf Overhauls besides, "Moonlight Tales", if you want to try. Whatever mod you choice, perhaps you should check this. It should works with all Werewolf Overhauls Mods. - DLC mods: No. If you like to play Skyrim, you will end the game several times before "Beyond Skyrim" get out. So, include one DLC mod in each game could be a good idea, to extended the game. If you never played any, perhaps you should try Wyrmstooth. It has a quite vanilla Style and is stable. If you accept new ideas, this could be a good addition to the list. Thanks again for the mod guide.

alaunus01 Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Fairly confident moonlight tales aged like milk too. Seven years old mod with a couple dozen third party fixes? Sure.............. Better vampires at least has some recent work being done on, however that one touches so much stuff I guarantee you it will upend all the cosmetic changes already done to vampires, and then some other stuff I cannot even imagine just for the lulz too.

Or is it a specific mod that's messing with DynDOLOD? I want to remove which ever mod is responsible for this, game's unplayable for me if the map doesn't function properly.

There are some very specific hoops you have to jump through to get everything looking good, though. You're sure you edited the DynDOLOD config to enable lod32 and changed the settings to match both this guide and the ACMoS instructions?
Aylis Posted February 9, 2023 Author Posted February 9, 2023 (edited) Roads show up now. Spoiler But they are a bit hard to see (at least for me). On the other hand they do work with the mods in the guide and changes to the road system are integrated. __________________________________________________ Might have to do another run of DynDOLOD with the 'paths' option... I had not edited the config because nowhere in this guide did i notice any mention of editing the config. Am I bind or is there no such instruction? I did end up uninstalling Far Object LOD Improvement Project and Terrain Tamriel Extend so i wouldn't have to use xLodGen since that shit sketchy af. And I followed Lexy's guide for DynDOLOD which did in fact mention to edit the config and enable LOD32 and now I have no issues with the map. I don't know which of one these fixed the issue but now it looks fine. I still have this water seam though: Spoiler Any ideas? Running Simplicity of Sea and nothing is overwriting it Enb is PI-CHO ENB if that matters Edited February 10, 2023 by ritalmao spoiler
Aylis Posted February 9, 2023 Author Posted February 9, 2023 (edited) Uploading 'Pi Cho Modified'. This fixes a few water and grass issues with this ENB. _________________________________________________ Modified the instructions for DynDOLOD Edited February 9, 2023 by Aylis
misterpipes Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 (edited) Got an issue with Solsthiem and dyndolod (I think). Screenshots explain it better than I can in words. First up: thats at the south of the island, looking south towards the mainland. Kinda looks like its rendering really far stuff, but then missing out a chunk of nearer stuff Spoiler Same area looking west: near middle distance just looks black (does turn the right colour when approched), then a chunk of just not rendered stuff (which will fill in when approached.) Spoiler Feels like I'm missing something from dyndolod, but not sure what. (this is with fresh rebuilt dyndolod, but looked the same with the previous instructions for dyndolod as well) Editted: Ok, wrong about dyndolod on the second screenshot, even without xlod/textgen/dyndolod on a new character, same stuff happens. Seems to be a mismatch between render distances of different things. Edit 2: Fixed! It was a clash between po3 Seasons of Skyrim and the xLodGen settings @Aylis recommends. Solsthiem doesn't have seasons, Seasons of Skyrim was applying seasons to Solsthiem. Quick edit of po3_SeasonsOfSkyrim.ini fixed it. Needed to remove DLC2SolsthiemWorld (and the associated | ) from the four Worldspaces = lines in that ini. Edited February 9, 2023 by misterpipes Fixed!

This thread does not (yet) have the full instructions for installing A Clear Map of Skyrim, so you'll have to go through the instructions on the mod's page (and also the modpage for the ACMOS Road Generator), and combine the recommended DynDOLOD/xLodgen settings with Aylis' settings here. It's kind of a pain, but imo worth it compared to how the vanilla map looks.
Aylis Posted February 9, 2023 Author Posted February 9, 2023 (edited) Don't forget that 'Collecting Links' is just there so i don't forget mods. It is NOT a list of mods that will be added, see it more as a list of links that have a high propability of being added to the guide with the next update. As can be seen with 'A Clear Map of Skyrim and Other Worlds - Roads' it can still have mods in there that don't work as intended. So if you see a post like it don't jump to include them immediately. Also, even if i try to list them the way they will likely be added, this can still change to prevent issues. The only exception to this are mods with a green comment. Those were important enough to be changed/included immediately. Edited February 10, 2023 by Aylis
Chaas Paike Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 I have a question. Windhelm Expansion - Grey Quarter has a patch for Capital Windhelm Expansion, but i do not see that patch on the list. Isn't it necessary to install it?

Jessica_Degurechaff Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 @Aylis sorry for the ping but i saw that you edited the List post yesterday and i was wondering if its for any remove or added thing? Im just checking up on the updates on my MO Sorry
thirstydovahkiin Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Pro tip for anyone using Legacy of the Dragonborn, like I am: If you also have Female Mannequins (or any mannequin replacer for that matter) you must set LotD to use all male mannequins to avoid a very consistent CtD when entering areas like the armory or safehouse.

Well, if you add things on your own which arn't listed on page #1, then yes, it is obviously not covered by the guide! And if you do that and run into problems then there's nothing i can do about it. Btw. if you skip xLodGen then you'll have no terrain textures which are needed for the roads and paths. @Jessica_Degurechaff Check the second post from the top. Its the mods with 'Already ...'. And the ini file for the ENB. Edited February 10, 2023 by Aylis
