In the new bomb quest, are the sleeping minutemen supposed to be hostile ? (they are not for me) and if they are, wouldn't they attack the player as soon as she enter the trigger (disable sneaking) ? too close to the camp. I think making them hostile (if not already) will make it extremely hard to finish the quest.

While realistically there would be at least one minuteman standing guard, I found it too complicated to deal with, so I put them all to sleep.

I've been thinking, I'm going to experiment with the zaz pillory soon; if I remove the “SkipWalk”, the character will come out of the pillory and probably the scene will go well. I'll have to test it tonight.

hi, @JB! I play on hardcore difficulty and use Smokeable Cigars - Cigarettes - Joints - With HardCore Auto Save to protect myself from loss of progress иfrequent crashes. I notice one problem. So in the previous versions of Commonwealth Slavers the saves from that mod worked stably. But after adding CS cigarrettes saves from that mod no longer works.  It's not critical to me, but I would like to understand why it's happens. CS doesn't overwrite that mod and I didn't find any inconsistencies in FO4Edit.

I really like CS and enjoy replaying newer versions. It's nice to see how mod gradually improves and becomes deeper. CS has really cool characters and I even noticed how attached I got to some of them. I smile every time when Gristle and Murphy talk about nothing like in Tarantino's films. What is this if not Stockholm syndrome? xD

I'm studying to be a narrative designer and I'm really interested in exploring themes of mental illness. So I thought I'd share a few ideas that could improve roleplaying and storytelling of Commonwealth Slavers. Maybe you'll like one of them:

1. It's always been hard for me to understand what benefits obedience or rebellion gives. What's the point of being obedient if you get ability for beating with a whip and it's closer to my roleplaying? Now I've decided to return to Fallout4, as usual starting it with CS. For the first time I decided to roleplay fear and obedience in the “Lucky Day” quest, I noticed that the characters' dialogues have changed a little. Gristle and the others speak pleasantly about the fact that I passed the test, etc. I'm pleased to notice such changes, but I want more. It could be a changing ability (like the one used in Sexual Attributes, for example) and a scoring system. Something like karma and bonuses for roleplaying an obedient, neutral and rebellion slave. This could help players understand which path they want to go and which person to roleplay, as well as which bonuses and debuffs they will receive.

2. I am familiar with some mental illnesses first hand and I would like to see more content like this in the mod. For example, the player could get the status “depressed” (after being raped in red room/undeserved punishment in Pest Control/castration or amputation, for example), “post-traumatic stress disorder” (after luring the innocent into a trap etc.), “thoughts about suicide” (after gangbang of raider bosses) after some interactions. For example, with the status of depression, character will not want to wash (some disgruntled remarks from patreons), the feeling of hunger will increase more slowly and the character will be more likely to use drugs (so player can go to the junkie root). (I can think of a lot of such things)

3. As I already said, some characters touch the soul. What if we add the effect of Stockholm syndrome? For example, by choosing a similar path in the context menu, the character will be able to start feeling sympathy for the kidnappers. It could look like improving relations with companions, but more simplified. Gristle, Murphy, Lindstrom or the brothers could give out small quests (bring some things if you find it during quests when you can go anywhere — alcohol, ammo, certain junk, caps over the required amount, etc. / having sex  with character/ selecting certain lines in quests where they participate). As a result, their attitude towards the player character would change a little for the better in dialogues (still a slave and a whore, but you can rely on her). At max relationships player could receive normal food, junk for crafting clothes and resources, permission to use stoves for cooking in the wasteland, disable handcuffs or gags etc. This feature will give the player an interest in completing repeating quests (which are a bit boring).

Also it could give cool interactions in quests in the form of a window with a choice of actions. For example, the brothers screwed up in something and there is an option to take their blame on yourself. Heroine will be beaten and will not be given food and medicine for a couple of days, but the relationship with the brothers will improve greatly.

While writing I got an idea about Gristle. I'll try to describe it briefly (xD):
Gristle generally behaves well with the heroine throughout the plot (at least better than the others). It won't be hard for her to start feeling sympathy for him. But he suddenly ordered her to be beaten up during the quest Pest Control, although the good Samaritans really didn't show up. She finds this outrageous and loses sympathy, harboring a grudge. During the next quest in the brothel, when the heroine is servicing clients, Gristle will come in for a beer/bring a new whore/another business. And hear from Lindstrom that the heroine is doing a great job with the clients, but they complain that she's not quite in a marketable condition. And one of the served clients will intervene in the conversation and say that he's never had such a good fuck in his life. He will ask Lindstrom to let him know when the girl gets better (I always got one or two broken limbs when I was beaten up) to fuck her again. (the player will overhear this scene while going to get beer for the next client)
During the trip to Diamond City Gristle usually gets into a shootout with mutants (oh shit, how many times did I have to reboot that time when I installed the mod for legendary enemies from the start of the game). So, at some point appears a window with message “Gristle is busy with a shootout and does not see that a hound is about to jump on him/one of the supermutants will go around him” with a choice:  “He deserved it" or "My life depends on this asshole. I need to help him.” Then the heroine screams to warn him/knowing that she will be electrocuted, takes a grenade or a weapon from the corpse and does everything herself. Gristle survives in any case, and the player improves/worsens relations with him. In the process of helping the player will receive a debuff for a couple of days. But as a reward in a conversation with Gristle in DC he will apologize to the heroine for that beating. And in the dialogue appears that line where the player finds out that Gristle's farm was burned and all that. He can also teach an additional perk for stealing or give some useful improvement.

He is also a father. Gristle has a line about the heroine's son, if you tell him about it at the beginning of the mod. You can insert a conversation in which Gristle promises to find information about Sean's kidnappers or something like that. And then he gives a slight spoiler (haha spoiler for a game that is 10 years old), that even he would not want to mess with that mercenary.

This way you can deepen a little the stories of the characters of the mod. And also entice players to go through more quests before they want to go to true ending route.

Fuuuu, I need to stop shitpossting and get some sleep :D Sorry for that. She said briefly, lol

Finally, I have one request. Can I know the full list of perks that can be obtained during the mod please? I am munchkin and lootgoblin, I want to collect them all during the next playthrough.

Thank you ! Remember that my mod also has cigarettes to be created in the chemical station to save your game. You can use them using the purse shortcut.

In fact, my mod uses a vanilla keyword for the character to start smoking. I wonder if the original mod you mention does the same thing or, worse, modifies the vanilla keyword (not a recommended practice at all). Maybe the incompatibility comes from there.

Many have asked me for a sort of romance with Gristle and I see it as something feasible (I remember this case of the Colombian politician who was kidnapped by a guerrilla for years, to the point that she fell in love and had a baby with one of her kidnappers... while her French husband moved land and sea to rescue her). But it was not where I wanted to go. To me Gristle is a character completely burned out of life. And while it sounds nice (and possible) for Nora to arouse interest in him, it wasn't what I wanted to convey with this character because he is 100% focused on his search.

I like the tell a story, but I don't really like programming things like karma or anything to do with math XD Don't ask me that. Maybe that's why being submissive or rebellious only translates into: either we give you a beating or we won't.

The problem with depressive thoughts is that, sooner or later, it becomes burdensome to me. Put yourself in my shoes. You're not writing a scene for a book that you have to revise lines here and there. You are creating a mod and you need to test it. You need to play it. You're gonna find bugs, so you need to fix them and retest them. You have to see/read/experiment all that over and over and over again (and if there are ramifications, you have double work, doble testing nighst). That's why I got burned several times making this mod because, you know, dragging the corpse of an innocent you can only do so many times before it starts to gross you out. Don't make me write depressing thoughts. 😆

Thank you for your notes. I'm glad it resonated with you. Give Nuka Ride a try, it's the mod where I usually relax a lot after those torturous Slavers sessions.

I don't remember the perks very well.

The animal friend perk, the damage decrease perk, those you unlock all of them. The stealing one, my mod unlocks the first two. Ad the scaver one, the mod unlocks the first perk. I don't remember if there are more.

MCM, cheat section, "Remove Facial Damage". I need to rephrase that

haha you know, I just reread it all and realized how hard it is to implement. it can be hard to stop me when I start throwing out ideas xD

by the way, I'm not some kind of fanfiction writer. I didn't even think that you could have a romantic relationship with any of them. I don't think that's what the mod is about. there's no place for love. it's a cruel and dirty place where even the good guys aren't who they say they are. but the villains aren't always heartless

the love that can be in the mod already exists in it. it's shown in the form of boundless love for the family on the part of Gristle. in the love for freedom and its acquisition in the main character's arc. even Murphy's bride looks appropriate here, because she develops the character's arc. before, he treated all women like trash and thought exclusively with his dick
and of course, how could I not mention about love junkie-heroine with jet. I was more worried about their relationship than about my own :D

oh, by the way. during the passage I again came across the impossibility of picking up a bag of caps for Gristle because of the handcuffs. the problem is easily solved by disabling the handcuffs, but it still exists. it would be possible to remove the script that gives out handcuffs on the way back from DC
and also Dwayne did not want to open the cell door for me when he was supposed to. he just went to his office, and the cell door remained red. to fight prostitution, it is enough to lock the prostitute in a cage. quite a radical point of view, Dwayne :)

yeah, I wanna play NukaRide after ending of CS. I like the idea that slavery leaves it's mark. The heroine has been making her living from sex for too long to just give it up. I imagine this as an intermediate stage on the way to a vanilla life (and boring vanilla main quest)

A romance with Grislte would destroy the core of the character. His whole story is "I don't mind sending you into hell where I already stand, I'll see the world burn to find my daughter." This character does not seek redemption nor love. Even in the end, he does what he does only if you convince him so he can meet them in the afterlife, his last hope, not to save the world but like to avoid having people losing their loved ones like he did. By far the best character of this mod, with Dwayne. And honestly, when it all started, I hated both. So hat down on the writing.

As for the whole depression, I think you have hints here & there that your character is suffering, during the one month time skips. You can keep fighting (my choice in my playthrough, I kept being beaten lol), or lose yourself in hell and drugs. And I guess there is no need for more script heavy things, it's also good to let the players basically just "RP" their own things. The core of the mod is perfect to shape your character in what you want for the rest of the game. Mine, for example, fought depression with her sheer willpower, and was able to keep fighting because of her desire to find her son, no matter the cost. And she had to stay alive for this. But I could've chosen to go the "depression" type of RP, so junkie or submissive. But wanted to play as a future general of the minutemen, known to be sarcastic and unfriendly. So, of course, the whole Gristle story echoed in her. And that's also why I find Gristle story so cool compared to fallout 4 main campaign. The very ending, in front of the shrine, was just a perfect ending to all this.

Spoiler

"He was a bastard"

I think it summarized this mod perfectly. There's no heroes, or true villains. Only people with beliefs and will to survive. Or to protect the one they love.

I think minutemen are just unaggressive, they won't attack even even if you hit them, and it's for the best, otherwise, they will wake up, enter combat and kill the PC in 2 sec.

Yeah, enabling package will solve the problem, but the only solution i found to prevent the player from exiting the furniture is really complicated and require editing AAF main scripts (not really a solution you can use)

I decided since there are a few days until my friends and family will stop seeing me or receiving clean laundry ever again, to give the new mechanics and fixes a little bit of love, and my very first take-away with all the changes was "wow, it practically feels brand-new with all of this added!".

I can't begin to tell you how much I love the new heels mechanic.  Like, truly.  I've been using Cheat Terminal to slow movement speed to 25% in both CS and NR since I began playing, when indoors and in heels, so having this mechanic and the different options available made this so much more fun.  I did notice if you set or change a setting while already wearing heels, you sometimes have to unequip them and reequip them to have it kick in, but is not an issue just something users may want to know for troubleshooting.  I also found if you save and reload that save it kicks in, or if you exit a building after changing the setting and re-enter and such.  I will never need to touch the movement speed again.  Forget Minutemen, you're the real hero around here 🥰

The swallow, spit and clean face options are like that little something that was missing being placed into the world.  I didn't dislike the forced swallow mechanic, don't get me wrong, but this feels more like the world you created, where you get to choose how submissive or rebellious your character is to their situation.  My girl lost her rights to wearing clothes so fast with this new mini-game XD

I only went through the Slaver Ship back when it needed console commands to get there, so I'm excited to see how much that has progressed!  I noticed a few super small mostly voiceline issues that I believe were already there but I'd forgotten to mention them before, early on in game.  I'm just finishing up with unlocking each of the quests and going to finish my required jobs - I set them to 40 so I could do some of them a few times to see how they play out but so far everything seems pretty flawless, and it feels more like a real world built around this dark theme, from the new mechanics to options like being able to ask settlers for food

'castration event'

Spoiler

Repeated/skipped voice line when Doctor Cade says "it's just a tubal ligation" he repeats this line twice, while the subtitles show the correct second line about reversing the procedure after he explains which procedure took place

'piercing event' during 'The Whore House'

Spoiler

Repeated dialogue event where Lindstrom explains that he is putting something on you that you (or more like the customers) will enjoy.  The dialogue plays, but you are not pierced.  The dialogue plays again overlapping with the commentary on working in the Whore House, and this time you are pierced

Declan's skin cream supply

Spoiler

When asking Declan if he has any cream for your whip wounds, he says he is out and to check back in a few hours.  If you walk away for a few moments and return, he will hand you some.  Previously, he did have it in stock when needed and would give it to you on the first request (if you hadn't asked too recently for it) so unsure if this is intentional

'The Hooker'

Spoiler

If you don't service a client in Diamond City because you gave the green paint to Abbott (200 caps or more depending on speech check) and visiting The Science Center (100 caps) to complete your permit, it triggers the message box for if you have cheated even though in this instance you did not (it assumed I used console commands for caps)

I always thought that the True Ending was still the best ending, but have to admit if staying gets me into Nuka Town, it will have some serious competition 😋 There are mindblowing amounts of options if you do this, like use the 'original' whorehouse that Seven Bar was meant to be, Nuka Club, and even a more hardcore version of the VIP quests.  I'm equal parts excited and terrified to see what beautiful horrors await 🖤

Hi, I can't get passed this stage. Am I missing something?

Check your AAF menu (Home key). Mostly likely an error (ex: can't find characters) and will need to reinstall or sort out load order etc etc

I've downloaded the new version of CS to see the changes with the new npc facegens but two of the patrons inside the WH still seem to have the brown face bug where the textures aren't loaded, is there any way to fix this?

This happened to me because I was missing one of the animation packs.   Be certain that you are using the right version too, as some animation packs specifically need older versions.

Go to the mods page, click required files. If it's not on nexus go google. If you use body mods it's your responsibility to find the conversions not ask every author questions you can google.

I can't seem to get past the fight with Dwayne in Correctional. It just says survive Dwayne, we fight for a few seconds, and then an AAF bad end scene triggers. I've tried fighting him, I've tried just blocking him and keeping my distance (as much as you can in the bathroom) and I've tried just letting him beat the shit out of me. I've even tried using console commands to skip quest stages and it still goes to the bad end.

It sounds like you don't have the Brawl bug fix, a requirement for brawl missions. I'm guessing you bypassed them all with console commands, and now it caught you off guard because it's mandatory.

Those extra 100 caps from Abbot makes the quest too easy. I removed them with the console to give my character a reason to work for it. Can it be adjusted for the mod perhaps?

Another flawed/bugged dialogue is when Gristle comes up to the cell after the castration event and says "Look Noodles(as if it was a name), I haven't had that in some time", even if you have eaten them all. It's a minor detail but affects immersion a bit in that situation.

Can you believe I haven't played that part with voice yet? A modder's life. :classic_sad:

If it's as you say, I have to put a comma in there. “Look, noodles.”
