No it doesn't. And you shouldn't be launching via the vanilla launcher anyway, which also bypasses that.

But the second sticky explains how to roll back the update.

Yes, it is the auto update to the files.  Thanks for the links though, at least I won't have to hope some modders come back to fix games.  The list of mods broken by this update includes HHS, so......I guess it is ......good???  that there is a new influx of people playing FO4 again after that new series dropped, but.........idk.

If its already updated like mine even tho It was blocked use this first and then block it using the filehttps://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/81474

With a fast internet you can fix it in like 2min max

How did it update if you didn't use the vanilla launcher. Steam looks for it and triggers the update. Launching through F4SE causes Steam to never trigger an update.

And I've launch the game a dozen times or so times since the update.. no issues.

But, I use Nexus Mod Manager and don't use it to launch the game. Just a simple F4SE shortcut.

Apparently the CK Fixes does something similar because my  CK isn't updating either.

The update broke all mods using F4SE and xEdit.

Not to mention the bonus bugs they added.

Bugthesda really needs to terminate the DEI hires. LOL!

Which is GREAT news!
I had it open last night and no update. I didn't install it through Steam, so maybe that'll help too... fingers crossed.

You have only two options.

  1. Check your load order and start uninstalling unnecessary mods until you find the culprit.
  2. Give up and look for another mod. 😝

Keep in mind that all those saves where my mod can't load its scripts are fucked. Don't test with those. Always start testing with a new game.

I tried everything you suggested, but couldn't get it to work. It's strange, because I already played through the mod once in my last playthrough. Thanks for your help.

Having a problem a bit further into the story that I am in need of assistance with.

1. When the minutemen nabbed me Gristle and Murphy had their dialogue with them before the two began attacking the slaves. I had to talk to Gristle but he was so distracted by them that he wouldn't speak to me. I countered this with teleporting him to me away from the slaves, which caused them to follow after him, and it worked but it leads me to my next problem.

2. The next quest with the scientist where she has you strapped down for a monster teehehe. We needed gristle to guide us there which he did but the slaves came with him and he immediately begins attacking them and gets distracted. After sometime I was able to talk to him so that I could get strapped down but then he goes back to attacking them. When the monster shows up its bugged and is just staring at me and I'm not sure if it has to do with Gristle going off on the other three slaves.

I have been trying for a few hours to get the mod to begin, but I have had no such luck.

In my case, after exiting vault 111, I approach Murray and he asks for help, I attempt to talk to him, but I don't engage the dialogue box, instead he just stands up and tells me to get used to being a slave. Nothing happens from here, with Murray simply following my character(walking) and clapping occasionally. I opened the console and attempted to start the quest, I also checked the status of the quest and it says that it is active at stage 30. I have continued into Sanctuary and a bit beyond, but Murray maintains his behavior.

- I do not have the new fallout 4 update

- I do not have any of the incompatible mods installed, I have all hard requirements installed, and I have most soft requirements installed.

- The only optional file I have installed is the voice pack

- I have ensured AAF is functional by engaging multiple animations with spawned npcs through Sex Me Up

- I have tried both version 2.5.4 and 2.5.5, both in new games, and I have tried reinstalling both

- I have tried enabling the mod after the new game has begun but before exiting vault 111

- I have tried to use the cheat mode in the MCM to teleport Gristle and Murray to my character, but Murray remains where he is and Gristle does not teleport.

- I saw an image of the popup that I presume is meant to appear before engaging with Murray, but it has never shown up for me.

I have also searched for an issue like mine, which led me to some of the troubleshooting I did, but nothing I've seen seems to work. If there is something, I would love a link or directions to it. Thank you for your help.

JB so what is the best way to take the girl that made it through commonwealth slavers straight into nuka ride mod.  I mean she's horny as f--k, she wants to be a porn star...!  So I tell gristle I want to be free, he takes me over to 111 and even mentions being a porn star in nuka world, but the duke eyebot is frozen not talking just floating there.  Not seeing a way to start nuka ride with her...

  • No Sim Settlements 2 or other memory sucking mods. ✔️
  • Reinstall the mod and choose to install the source code.
  • Install “SKK Fast Start” and start a new game. Test it again.
  • Don't use the saves where the game couldn't kick the scripts. Those are already screwed up. Use SKK Fast Start to start fast again.

It must have been jammed / busted. You can select it and type Resurrect. You can travel far away and wait a couple of hours, and see if Duke approaches you. Or you can simply kill him and pick up the pamphlet he has in his inventory.

Which slaves are we talking about? There are not supposed to be slaves following anyone. It's just you, Gristle, Murphy and the Minutemen.

I'm sure they're the cause of the quests progressing in fits and starts.

You have to load at a point where that doesn't happen. It looks like a bug that won't leave you alone.

Besides, the slaves should not have to be attacked by Gristle. It has to be interference from another mod.

Thank you for the reply!

It's just three random female slaves, like the ones from the whore house that accompany you and Gristle to Diamond City for whoring around. Unless they weren't supposed to accompany us during that trip because then that would be the first time the bug initiated.

I have reloaded to numerous points in the game and when I reach that part then the bug is present. I have tried going through the mods but I'm not quite sure which could be interfering because other than this and its requirements (and the requirements of the requirements haha) I only have preset mods for face, building mods for settlements, and clothing, such relating to those that have never interfered beforehand.

And I must add that this mod has been working splendidly until now! I have been enjoying thoroughly. I'm just not quite sure where to start in point of weeding out the bug so I would love some tips!

@StrawberryMi1k

These are the slaves that follow Gristle during The Hooker, yeah, but when the quest is over, their packages are deactivated. Apparently they were bugged in your case.

My suggestion (so you don't have to go back so far in your save)

Write in the console:

  • StopQuest _CS_DC
  • StopQuest _CS_DC_Traveler
  • Now open the console and point to a slave, and type “Resurrect”. That will reset her. Do the same with the other two.
  • They should start to return to the Whore House.

I usually don't check Nuka Ride plugin until you're done with the last CS scene, if you start there then duke would be alive to talk to you. If it doesn't talk to you, you can try reload, or you could console command kill it then revive it and see if that works.

Thank you. It turns out Nuka Ride was the issue.

I read in the mod description that there is an option to flee to the Nuka Ride quest from the slavers. If this integration is still possible, when should I re-enable nuka ride to get this outcome?

I must say that I'm not entirely sure why Nuka Ride prevents Slavers from starting. I haven't checked it thoroughly yet, but will do so in the future. But, yes, I would install Nuka Ride later, see that Slavers is still running fine, before proceeding with both mods.

I suspect it's a problem in the game startup, so midsave shouldn't have a problem. But I can't tell you for sure.

Anyway compatibility with both mods is very minimal, and if you like roleplaying, you'll find that they're not very compatible.

Slavers forces a vengeful character.

Nuka Ride forces the character to become a diva-like bimbo.

New crap update = F4SE is broken. My game automatically updated through Vortex so now I can't even play Fallout 4. I hate Bethesda with a passion.

You have to set F4SE as the default startup in Vortex. And in Steam you have to set that the game should update only when you start it.

I survived this monumental disaster of an update. But I have seen in Nexus guides to revert to the previous version.

best option i have (personally) found to go from CS to NR (disregarding mental gymnastics needed for roleplay elements) is to:

1 - Install/activate CS

2 - play CS until you have earned you freedom

3 - go into Vault 111 and make a hard save (use console "savegame CSFinished" or something so you know where you are in your playthrough)

4 - exit game

5 - install/activate NR

6 - load savegame made in step 3

7 - adjust NR MCM

8 - exit vault and talk to Duke (and enjoy NR)

what you get extra in NR (vanilla route) is some extra/changed minor dialogues (does not affect gameplay).

Very easy to revert. there is a guide on nexus. Mine updated while I was sleeping. To revert you basically need to download the old files from steam depot. But to be honest those file packs are mixed so you basically have to download all the main files again while you basically only need the main files in the main FO4 folder. So what I would suggest is if you have a friend or someone still on the old version grab a copy of their main files do not bother with the data folder and replace yours with theirs. Then all you have to do is delete everything that is called CC in the data folder. Of course then you need to block it.

because I didn't reset my "update" preference back when I rebuilt my entire load out.   I forgot to set it back to "update only when launched".    IN any event, rolled it back using the links you provided, but won't get to test it until my extended family leaves for the weekend.

I don't get that either tbh since other than my first charater after doing a re-install (hadn't played fallout 4 for like 2 years) i've made like 3/4 new ones with both CS and NR activated and CS has started fine, about the only thing i've done (which isnt really relevant to game start) is once i've finished the CS content is flip the load order so NR starts to load after CS when i'm done with CS

@yyes09275 were you doing the NR 6.6 virgin start which requires Start Me Up Redux

Rather than the Nora route with SKK Fast Start?
