Yep just did that too gonna try again. Sorry for being a bother. I was just really getting invested in the mod and I just wanna get it working to experience the rest of it lol. 

 

Possible culprit? "warning" [072] Request (Start_Scene) made to AAF before boot-up complete. Ignoring to protect stability. 

 

This is the only thing I'm getting so far, gonna try to load a different save and see if the same thing happens.

 

What I'm getting from this is that AAF is trying to play some kind of animation before AAF can initialize. How or why I don't know.

 

Okay loaded an indoor save, no issues reported yet

 

Okay so I've noticed my character gets stuck in idle animations during dialogue. I wonder if I have some sort of conflicting Idle animation installed.

 

This is the only Idle animation I had installed is it possible this has a conflict?

 Out of curiosity, are you using the next gen game update or any of the next gen mod updates? If so, downgrade and things should start working correctly.

Nope I made sure to downgrade immediately, this was technically a clean game a few days ago, and I made sure all files I downloaded were for the 1.10.163 version.

 

And auto update is off.

AAF startup completed 100%? In that case, are you able to bring up the AAF on-screen interface and hit Del a few times to get to the Admin panel, then Enter to bring up the log? If so, you shouldn't need to have debug logging enabled to troubleshoot further.

In that case, the last few lines of debug output on screen might be illuminating. Are you able to post a screenshot (ideally in a spoiler)?

Last time I tried it wasn't writing any new logs. I'll see if I can get some this time just a moment.

It should output tons of data loading information along the left side of the screen every time you load a save.

Yeah for some reason I've edited the ini settings and nothing comes up in game and no log is created, and the only error I saw so far was the one I mentioned from the debug mode file. I can try reloading and waiting a while.

I can only think of a brute force solution. Uninstall everything related to AAF until there is nothing AAF animation related. 

 

I don't know how is the process in MO2, but with Vortex, just check that there is no files inside DATA/AAF. There shouldn't even be an AAF folder and, if there is, it shouldn't have anything in it.

 

From there just reinstall the mods that I mentioned in the spoilers. AAF, Themes, Leito, Rozhima, Kziitd, Savage Cabbage, BP70...

Yeah, that was my next thought, was kinda hoping there would be a bit of a better solution but no worries. Thank you again for the amazing mod. I'll see if I can figure something out or Nuke AAF and start over.

The thing about AAF is, you can hot edit xml files while the game is running and then just reload a save. Basically F5, make the edits, F9. AAF will completely reload on every save load.

Anyway...

Generally when AAF gets stuck loading, it's due to a bad xml.

Really all you need to test is AAF and the latest Savagecabbage animation pack.

Load the game, bring up the menu and play an animation. IF that works, and it should, start by adding Themes and then adding animation packs 1 at a time until AAF fails and that will be the culprit.

IF AAF fails right off the bat, you have a corrupt file.

There's also a tool on the AAF Discord to check your setup.

Wait so am I supposed to download AAF from the discord, nexus or loverslab, I'm super confused now. The one I got was from Nexus. I mean I assume they're all the same versions.

The one on Nexus is super old. You want 171 from the AAF Discord right now, that's the official source for the latest public release.

Hey there, currently having an issue with this mod. I just finished "Night Fever" and there's no other direction the mod is taking me in. I tried console commands to skip to heart of steel, but nothing is working. I was able to use console commands to start up "The Rescue" and advance to "The Way You Say My Name" but I'd rather not skip any quests if possible. Any tips / console commands you can give me to advance the game ?

Well shit think I know what my issue was then. Just reinstalled all the aaf mods that I could remember so just waiting for everything to install and deploy know. Hopefully this is it.

I am 200% sure that after Night Fever you should go to sleep in your apartment, and when you wake up you will have someone in your room. So go back to a save where you haven't written any console commands and take a good look. Otherwise the mod will go crazy for having started quests when it was not yet time.
