Personally I would recommend starting over on version 6.6 a lot of things have changed.

I have tested both Nora and the Alt girl path on 6.6 at least 4 times each now. No issues at all. There probably will be an ending to NR but thats a long way off. FIrst the alt path needs to link to the main path. Then JB will have to change a bunch of the main quests so it makes sense and only then he will probably think of an ending at some point. My personal opinion is I wouldn't mind if it just keeps going. I would love if it ends that it becomes like CS where post story things are added. Also its not a good idea to say "most of us" when there is no way of proving that its the case. As for CS its not like its finished either. The main story might be but JB is adding a bunch of stuff post story which I really like. You might get your wish of being commonwealth avenger. JB mentioned adding something post CS story where you go after people of the porn studio.

Yeah, of course there is an ending, I do all this because I clearly enjoy it, but if I'm going to put dates or pressures on myself as if this is some kind of market game I have to deliver on time we might as well shut this down. 

 

Besides this goes in spurts. Right now I'm testing the future new framework of Ego and Kziitd. For the same reason, I'm not in the right mood to write "Nuka Ride", but Slavers, inspired by the accessories that the framework contains. 

 

Since you mention it, there are three things I want to do post ending Nuka Ride.

 

1-An interview with Piper, no doubt, where we add dialogue to the original interview. 
2-Recovering the Minutemen castle without violence and using the mirelurk hatchling to convince the queen to leave, much to Preston's bewilderment. 
3-The most fucked up and cumbersome: Adding dialogue for when we finally meet Shaun at the Institute.

Totally agree never pressure yourself. That is also the reason NR and CS is the quality it is and people enjoy it so much. You know me tho I play whichever one you have stuff for and working on at that moment. Its good to jump around it helps prevent burnout. If push comes to shove. I play a quick VN in between

 

BTW: What is this new Framework from Ego and Kziitd you are talking about? Is there a link to it somewhere I would like to check it out if possible.

Now I saw your question. Yes, you can upgrade from 6.4.3 to 6.4.7, but I'm sure there is not much new content, it was bug fixes. If you already finished that version I don't know if it would be worth it.

Thanks for the reply. It would be nice to get the new spaces in your apartment, new outfits, tattoos and any other new areas. With the upgrade. Have played the new version as well a while back.

Getting a message popup when I load up a save. I have been playing the mod for a while now, and just got the quest for tattoo artist in Goodneighbour.

That happens when you played the vanilla Nuka world DLC. Nuka Ride takes over the whole Nuka world DLC and you can only play one or the other. You will have to restart and stay away from the vanilla Nuka world quests. Also stay away from the stations both commonwealth and Nuka world side.

It will not give you that message if the OB is alive and you haven't been close to either of the stations. Did you roam around in nuka world close to the station there ?

There's a trigger box that shuts down NR just outside the door when you get off the train in NW.

IF you do something that makes the game flag your PC as the OB, like completing a vanilla quest via console will also trigger the ending. I forget the exact quest atm.

 

Or there's a glitch in the matrix.

That message appears specifically in this condition

 

DLC04MQ00.IsCompleted()

 

It means that you boarded the train to go to Nuka World and you have started/about to start "The Gauntlet" as osculim says. 

 

If you haven't done this, it could be two things. A glitch as Izzy says. Or you simply have another mod that is modifying that quest.
