Koko.Hekmatyar Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Just finished playing Utawarerumono : Itsuwari no Kamen (PSV). Suddenly, I don't feel like watching the anime to the end anymore... Things went south at the very end. Nobody's happy and damn... FUCK!! THAT!! ENDING!! Doesn't it have alternate good endings? As far as I can tell from the story... it isn't even half finished! Plot holes the size of the moon are left here and there. Not to mention that everybody got broken in a way or two. Remember the scene where Ice Man went freaking nuts when he found out that his wife got dissected? His biological daughter very nearly reenact that scene when her own transformation started because she was led to believe of a certain lie... A lie that is needed to cover a bigger lie so to give the people hope as the greatest kingdom went up in flames because the emperor died and every single one, minus a select few, of those scheming generals want to have a larger piece of the pie (or just outright want to have the entire pie!). It's heartbreaking to see Kuon crying in Oboro's arms in the end. Every other team members were badly shaken too but it's even worse as we hear the lying person's thought when looking at Kuon leaving, her expression blank. There were many deaths in the first game/anime but those were mostly nobodies and those that have it coming but there were a few memorable ones. This time, we are going to see just how bad it's going to be for the good guys. Many of the key members are missing in the end and the biggest civil war is going to happen real soon but the game just cut short right there! AARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! Even the princess lost her voice because she was fed poison by someone who took the opportunity of the emperor's death to possibly try to usurp the throne or to just get her away from court. She was saved but greatly weakened and her throat has suffered substantial damage that her voice just may never recover. There's just too many things left hanging that it's needing a damn sequel and quick or Aquaplus is going to go up in flames. I think there's a good chance that they are trying to bring back Hakuoro in the end as he's the very cause of everything that is. Let's just say that the plot this time actually focuses on the other side of the fence. We will be looking from the perspective of the surviving scientists! Though not directly related to the dismay Ice Man went through but there's a healthy chance that Haku might be torn from limb to limb if the two meet. Yes, Haku's actually one of the two remaining scientists who still have their humanity intact. It's possible that it's because he was already in cold sleep when the whole thing happened or maybe because he had received an altered medication based on the studies on Ice Man. The other is his elder brother, the one who later became the emperor for several hundred years because he managed to expand his life through data learned from studying Ice Man. However, we never really got all the dirt out on their background as we know that Haku's regained his memories but never explained to the gamers just what he had remembered and the emperor got assassinated off screen. You would even feel bad for the emperor of what he did to have a family... Which is turn makes me wonder of the possibility of the Tatari that Haku met at the beginning just may have been his sister-in-law or his niece! I don't think the twenty plus episodes will be enough to give us a closure to the cluster fuck that the game brought us and I'm wondering just how faithful the anime will be to the game at this point. Well, I've braved myself to watch ep 03 and it's a pretty good retelling of the story for now. I just might have to drop this when the mysterious old man started appearing. That's the cue that things are going to get real bad. Always remember one thing about anime. That being that anime Studios RARELY follow the source material religiously if at all. Prime examples of this would be anime like Air Gear or Gants, even Tokyo Ghoul doesn't really follow the Source material. Fortunately, most of the story line in Utawarerumono: InK are just... well, idiocy on Haku's part and how he spent his days looking around town after being duped into forced labor. The only problem that would arise for the Itsuwari no Kamen's continuity is that the first anime actually threw away the scene that Kuon was born then. Now, I'm curious as how they would explain... Okay, screw that! The party members didn't even know of her background in the game. Guess they'll just try to go with that in the anime though those who have only watched the first anime would just gawk at the awkwardness. There's one recent anime that shouldn't worry about running out of ideas too soon... I'm looking at you, Heavy Object! Three episodes per arc and one arc is actually one chapter in the LN with three chapters per book while there's about ten books out in the market. Not too sure about which chapter they're ending the anime but I would guess they're probably going up until book 3 since we did see Heivia's yandere fiancee in the OP and another pair of fake boobs in there... so it's probably not going to be the standard 12 ep season. Which means I can probably just sit back and wait for the scene where Qwenthur sexually molested his superior in front of her fiancee to happen. *grin* HO is a 24 episode series so if it's 3 eps per arc and each arc covers one book they would be going through book 8 if my math is right.

You're really behind the times, my dear boy. Quenthur will have FIVE ladies vying for his attention and it's on an international scale! Well, that's minus all the fans he and Heivia raked up everywhere. Can't really blame him though. He's one of the duo idiots that blow up Objects around the bloody globe as fucking warm up exercise! ON! FOOT! Later, his superiors (minus the big breasted one he began with) are too scared to even command them that they have him reassigned BACK TO THE BASE HE BEGAN!
Kpnut Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Saw a series that looked interesting but it was tagged as a harem series, what I want to know is how such a dull and shitty genre of anime got so popular. It's the same shit just with a different lick of paint. I know this might seem like a bit of a rant (and it kinda is) but it links into the above about Heavy Object (which I'm enjoying, nice to see the Ball getting some love) and if the main characters wind up with a harem I'm dropping that shit. I honestly don't see the appeal, but then again I;m not a 14 year old boy who thinks with his dick (anymore.)

Ho isn't listed as a Harem so I'm guessing that despite all the girls interested in him the one he seems more interested in is Milinda.

The more recent Harem Protagonist cliche; on par with the male lead of Infinite Stratos. Quenthur wouldn't even get the cue if Milinda pointed Baby Magnum's guns right at his face at point zero. He's the type to get married to his job, or would be since he got conscripted into the military rather than getting the Object designer job... Heavy Object is a rather hardcore science fiction where the main lead is pretty nobody that ends up being the biggest monkey wrench all year round. Well, consider the author being the one who gave us Kamijou Touma, it's a given. Except Touma got his memories fried.
ds64 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Just finished 2 episode of Gokicha!! Cockroach Girl. My reaction: (Other than WTF feeling) My cockroach cant be this cute.. and now I need to think twice before killing a cockroach..
lawina Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Gintama is all you need. Just bite through the first 30-40 episodes and then you'll get hooked.
Guest hikomedia Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 My favorite anime is Death parade I just can highly recommend it
Kpnut Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Is it bad that we're only 4 episodes in an Comet Lucifer is already boring me? Because fucking hell it is starting to bore me,.

It is starting a little slow for an anime that's only supposed to be 12 episodes long but I wouldn't say it's boring me yet.
fgambler Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Been some years I don't watch anime, except by the Berserk mini-series that appeared recently. Talking about it, Berserk manga was finally resumed...
thingwhatsqueaks Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Blood Lad is my favourite anime Its a damn shame that there isnt going to be a 2nd season :c I like Blood Lad a lot as I thought it did some interesting things with both its characters and its world building. However it is very much the blue balls of anime as it doesn't even really end it just stops.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I started watching World Trigger and just caught up to the most recent ep but I got to say from what I've seen so far the show is good but I don't like how they portray Osamu as the weakest member of the team hell probably even the weakest member of Border. You got Yuma who is obviously a powerhouse fighter, then you got Chika who's destructive power is off the charts, and then you got Osamu who hardly does anything in fights. The least they could have done was made him a decent fighter even if he isn't on Yuma's lvl or have Chika's overwhelming Trion power.

He's just average, it just makes him look more useless as everyone else has some special skills. Chika for instance is pretty useless, her only saving graces is her shit-ton of trion.

I think she's be more accurate and do less damage if she used the Eaglet or the Lightning but she always uses the Ibis which is the .50 cal of triggers.

There is few things which get on my nerves about World trigger : - they are trying to win fews minutes by resuming the last episode too much. - the story is somehow slow, a lot a useless stuff is happening - the opening starts at 10 minutes... always ( this one is a biggest joke, I don't remember which episode they started to do that but... man ) - I like Osamu somehow but hate him at the same time Depsite these problems, I think the show is ok.
Kpnut Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 So in addition to Comet Lucifer I've now dropped the new Garo. I already mentioned how I didn't like the artstyle (too far removed from the last animated garo I saw) but the characters have also failed to grow on me, there isn't anyone as entertaining as Germán to keep me engaged during the long boring parts without any plot happening in addition to being boring the characters are also just generic (the main ones anyway) there's the boring MC who for some contrived reason can't freely use his Makai Knight armour, the annoying child and the fanservice female character who is just a shit Ema.

The newest Garo has the protagonist starting out as a blank slate and will only add in more as time past so dropping this early aren't really encouraged at this point; particularly since we finally get to see the family that dumped him in the first place. I'm more intrigue to the perspective of the two parties where the family considers him cursed but Zaruba considers him chosen.

Doesn't make him any less boring, especially with the lack of properly entertaining characters to support his boringness. Also the new episode of Sword Art Online abridged came out today (it's still technically anime) and continues to put its source material to shame when it comes to characterisation.

I freaking love the abriged SAO, it's super funny and actually gives Kirito some real personality. Best MC since Momoka from Sabagebu!
