you can enable "InfoMessages" in System MCM to see what happens in the background while in the city to see whats up.

Any thoughts on using Devious Cursed Loot and/or Devious Ench Chests with ND?  The new version of ND seems so full of features I'm unsure.  I loaded DDe for the first time for use with ND's add on and saw these mods.  Thank you for time.

Curse Loot: Maybe as a possible outcome. Too long since I used that. 

DDe is planned to be replaced/removed. I m not happy with the DDe/SUM Framework :(

Devious Enchacnted Chests by BaneMaster: I am working with him on a Feature that allows Naked Defeats own Trap Feature to work with the Chests.
Meaning both mods will work together. Naked Defeat can trigger Traps on Chests and Bodies and I also might add a Devious Chests "Outcome" after Defeat and maybe when Drinking Potions.

Not to derail the conversation, but if you're curious about this I believe the issue was this:

 

UNP was neck and neck with CBBE if not the leading body for LE. However, the most widely used version of UNP, Universal UNP (UUNP), got sucker-punched by closed permissions at the start of SE and CBBE filled the vacuum. UNP has been playing catch-up ever since. Personally I prefer BHUNP but yeah... 3BA is definitely the proverbial VHS in this case.

I have ND 5.0 with 5.01 hotfix also but most of the time the defeat gets aborted by no suitable actors found, like this here (i have also toggled on the creature support in MCM but these are vampires and humans, sometimes it aborts with actual humans present):

did you try "unstuck player" in debug wheel menu?  (alt + K (Defeat Key))

If at all, I recommend only a soft dependency. Cursed loot has not seen any updates for a looong time, ignores DHLP events and is in general a hot mess by now. That said, it does have some nice features, which is why it still finds it way into many (but not all) of my LO's. But like SLS that plethora of features is both its strength and its downfall. Could do with getting split up into 4 or 5 ESL's so people can mix and match what they actually want. It also could do with proper (and complete) 3BA bodyslides, etc. pp.

I will never do any DD related hard dependencies, so that wont happen.
But I noticed there are lot more mods now that offer nice outcomes, but only to realise most of them hook into SS++ anyway. So I focus more on the players desire to get slapped into some DD bondage locally after the Naked Defeat Sequence and in the background I am currently exploring such options (deviously enchanted chests just beeing the one option that I can already test myself).

So yea. P much all key combinations with K. The problem always occurs for me when I am paralyzed and "die" during the paralysis.

Maybe it's also noteworthy that I had a follower and follower functions enabled.

Which version did you try?
Please try with latest patch (5.00 FULL and 5.01 Hotfix from the forum). When it happens, press Alt+K (new Debug wheel menu) and choose "Unstuck Player".

You could also upload your Papyrus.0.log. 
Usually this happens when an effect creates a Ragdoll like effect which freezes some game functions until it is over. And somehow this state can get stuck. I put some effort into the unstuck function and I m always keen to improve it. For me when get paralyzed the game never got stuck before, so I am curious.

In case it's relevant, it was a quick capture event.

I also tested all ZAZ racks (as it looks like there should be on there). If I place them manually all show up.
 

 

I think its some kind of double start. 
The Mod placed a rope furniture but then a rack pose. 
I ll investigate. 


Ah, just to make sure: Player is alone or with Follower? and the player has the wrong pose?

Does anyone know what this means.  On the latest version with the patch and this opens right after character creation. "NAKED DEFEAT: Player is NOT Essential but should be.  We fix this now.  Most likely another mod is interfering."  MO2 only shows the whipmarks add-on as overwriting.  *I have not run through the MCM to activate all the mods or ND yet.  It's just that I have never seen this before.

 

EDIT:  I just checked for conflicts in xEdit.  The only conflict is one cell in JK's High Hrothgar which ND overwrites.  Just want to be sure.  Thanks.

if it shows up only once it is not a problem.
I ll see if I can improve the message. 

It is meant for players who want to have the player to be NOT essential. 

NOTE: naked Defeat is 99% script based, so ESP position, conflicts and overwrites are irrelevant (the cell conflicting is no longer in use by ND)

The notice continued to show until I set up the ND MCM.  Works ok since setting it up.  I did encounter two failed defeat scenarios shortly after spawning in game.  "Defeat on hit/strip" was set and was defeated by 3 bandits based on critical hit  but received the "no valid actors" even though I was amongst 3 NPCs who defeated me.  Happened twice with the same group.  Time goes by and I recover and ND restarts the vanilla monitoring state.  Log attached.  I spawned in near a bandit location and this was my second fight.  Hoping this could help.  Or maybe its just a setting.  Been a while since I played with defeat on hit so may be normal.  I do like how random it is.  I have an armor rating of 6.  Should not be able to have a standup fight with bandits.  

 

EDIT:  Two other instances have occurred.  Once with NPCs and twice with Creatures.  Same scenario occurs. Mentions reporting the event in the script dialogue.  Have debug dialogue enabled.  ND does work after processing the defeat and enables the player and ends the "Defeat" scenario so doesn't really impact gameplay.  I did have critical hit set at the default 35%.  Have reduced it as I continue to test.   Seems to be checking for devices even though I deleted everything related to DD.

I see that message box every so often after a load screen, can't find a pattern so far. (Except it is guaranteed on the next load after starting up ND.)

IMMOBILIZE NOW, PLEASE REPORT TO FORUM!" did occur once downed.  The text proceeded like prior versions of ND afterwards.  Selected K to find a spot and saw the text trying to select an animation.  Showed 2 rounds of trying to select an animation starting with 5P and working its way down.  2nd round it went to the blur animation once it reached 3P animation which started.  Floating chain furniture afterwards and then whipping but the whipper never swinged.  Whip tattoos worked.  Wiggled a few times and a 2nd whipping text showed it was going to start but it didn't.  Wiggled free and this time I crawled for a few seconds and then stood up without input.  Text this time to notify that the Defeat had ended.  Only change from this test was to increase the outdoor range to 5500.  It responded much quicker this time except noticed it seem to work to find an animation.  Have not noticed that before.  Location was the Dwemer ruin (Lost to the Ages forge) near Ivarstead next to the Imperial Camp.

Thank you Nymra.  I cannot play without your mod and I deleted the old version and was getting desparate.  I did notice that I did not drop into a crawl after wiggling free so I walked away.  I did not see the notice that Normal ND function had returned so I checked the MCM and the defeat scenario had ended.  One more test to confirm and going to bed.  Here is the log for the test that worked.  Thank you again for your mod.  *Scenario was a 3 person bandit fight.

 

Final comments:  Third test in the same location.  Once downed, the IMMOBILIZE comment showed again but the text proceeded like prior versions of ND.  Selected K to find a spot and saw the text trying to select an animation.  Showed 2 rounds of trying to select an animation starting with 5P and working its way down.  2nd round it went to the blur animation once it reached 3P animation which started.  Floating chain furniture afterwards and then whipping but the whipper never swinged.  (normally the whippers swing but can be a few times up to near constant).   Whip tattoos worked.  Wiggled a few times and a 2nd whipping text showed it was going to start but it didn't.  Wiggled free and this time I crawled for a few seconds and then stood up without input.  Text this time to notify that the Defeat had ended "1000".  Nearby soldier stole my gold during the defeat.  Think I had it set to 3%.  For normal gameplay I set it to steal everything but only gold for now.  Only change from this test was to increase the outdoor range to 5500.  It responded much quicker this time except noticed it seem to work to find an animation.  Have not noticed that before.  I have Billys, Bakas, Anubs, Fluffy Fox anims.   Location was the Dwemer ruin (Lost to the Ages forge) near Ivarstead next to the Imperial Camp.

Just to make sure:

 

1. did you see that you can now choose if you want a crawl timer or infinite time again? if you stand up without pressing K you maybe have the timer active. (seperate options for "Find Spot" and "Escape" 

 

2. I am bit confused what you are citing? Messages that appear ingame or the log? Interpreting the log is futile since you do not know what it means. 

Everything that I am interested in is what happens in your game, so I can check if the log shows something that is off. With the info you provided I can hardly tell what the problem is (if there is any left)

 

3. Whippers not starting can have many reasons. If it fails most of the time the whipper cannot find a path or a spot to whip from (crowded place for example). 
or the AI gets stuck somewhere and loops for some seconds.
I will implement and automated abort for such scenarios.
I also implemented an attack speed debuff. I need to add slider for that, since other mods can interfere with this setting. Maybe not ideal to do it like that too... :(

I'm also encountering this recently. Not 100% sure yet it is absolutely always, but certainly most of the time.
Like I was at an imperial army camp recently when it was suddenly attacked by a host of bandits (don't ask me why, some odd mod interaction most likely). They had 2 of those overpowered bandits added by populated Skyrim Hell Edition (I'm level 12, they are 30), so went down fairly fast. ND then gives the notification that no enemies are nearby so I can recover unnoticed or something to that end. While the battle is still raging all around me.

More usual, go into bleed out message box (paraphrasing) "No one to fuck you found -> Aborting" with a couple bandits or necromancers standing right beside me. To add insult to injury the abort is incomplete as you can still get robbed. Appears all hostile enemies in my game took a vow of chastity. 😛 

Pretty sure that wasn't a thing in 4.99, but seems to happen all the time in 5.01.

I thank you for the response.  I will check the crawl timer but I believe it was not checked.  My issue getting used to the new version and was simply something to share. 

 

All messages I referenced are in the message box in-game that shows what ND is doing.  Debug messages checked in MCM.  This allowed seeing the messages in prior versions so may be why they are showing in the new version as well.  As @Talesien commented, being defeated while bandits were literally standing right next to my PC was giving me the abort message.  Increasing the outside scan range to 5000/5500 worked and Defeat proceeded and pulled in the appropriate actors.

 

The Error message, the ingame Heavy Bondage message, and the animation search messages were simply new and for you to see in case they meant something important.

Just Overwrite 5.00 and 5.01 (5.01 can be removed, its redundanct now)


- fix for Posing errors during the escape game 
- fix for Follower Expressions sometimes not beeing played (mostly during Public Punishment)

- removed some redundant debug messages 

- Attempt to fix the "No actors found/Nearby" Problem. 
---> I could not reproduce all scenarios that were reported. Therefor it might still slip through here and there
---> the actor detection and processing is my primary objective at the moment.
---> I want to speed up and improve reliability 
---> this requires some fundamental code changes which can lead to this scenario where some use cases do not work yet
