Just a small tip that's related to playing with UD; if you also have "Skyrim Uncapper" mod, you can set

[SkillCaps]
iLockPicking = 99

This will prevent you from reaching lockpicking 100 perks for easier master locks and where lockpicks never break. That's especially terribly balanced because you'll have infinite lockpick minigame which you can always open with a single pick, even if it's a master lock.

 

But my main use of the mod is this config:

[PerksAtLevelUp]
#Set the number of perks gained at each level up. If a specific level is not specified then the closest lower level setting is used.
1 = 1
10 = 2

Basically starting from level 10 you start getting 2 perk points per level. It lets you advance the skill tree in multiple directions.

 

Optionally if you do the above you could also set:

iSkillLevelEnableLegendary = 99

I just rebuilt my modlist and I'm running into new errors I haven't seen before. When I have this mod installed and enabled, I get the attached error message when I open the game.

 

"An error has occurred with your installation of Devious Devices. Please check the log for more information. Error Text: Animation registration failed: Sexlab is none."

 

I'm using MO2 | Skyrim AE 1.6.353 | SKSE 2.1.5 | SexLab 1.64c | DD beta 10 RC 1 | UD 2.0

 

I have 1377 plugins loaded (bunch of them are ESL) and I made certain that all the editions I downloaded are compatible with my version of AE. I'm not 100% sure the issue is even coming from your mod. In rare cases I can get into game and not receive the error, but then I get errors that I have UD's plugins loaded before the mod they mod, like with the DCL plugin. I'm starting to wonder if this is some kind of issue with FNIS/Nemesis or something.

 

Any help anyone can provide would be fantastic.

I figured it out, it was a dumb error. It turns out ~50 of my mods weren't actually flagged as ESL files like I thought they were. My issue is resolved.

If you are just starting new game i'd suggest using the UD 2.1. That reminds of an issue i've only got in my recent game, where something disabled all SL animations. Check the MCM and turn everything On if they are not (example of them all disabled):

Even if you have enabled and registered everything in SLAL, if they are disabled on that page you will only ever get characters standing still and not start anything.

Thanks for the tips. Turns out I just had a dumb issue. Nearly 50 of my mods weren't actually flagged as ESL like I thought they were. So I was just way over the 254 limit.

Thanks for the new version, it's honestly amazing how much you've managed to implement in this, love it more after every update. I have one minor bug: if I ask an NPC to help me, they then somewhat "walk" on the spot (it's not really walking, seems like the beginning of the turning animation). Does not seem to create issues tho!

Aside from that, I get complaints about not having iWantWidget LE installed, which is reasonable as I am on SE. I checked the source and it seems the mod also checks for the SE version of iWant, so the error can probably be ignored, but better make sure.

 

Less sure of this one, as my load order was quite hefty and it might have been an interaction with other mods, but this seemed most likely to be involved: there seems to be a weird interaction between LBS and UD. With Laura itself, UD kept complaining that it could not find an inventory device for the catsuit; moreover, in the cave where you need to help Katarina, I had gags that kept being equipped and un-equipped, causing the game to hang for a split second. Again, I am not sure if it's UD fault, it might just be because UD patches some of the DD functionalities and LBS does not account for that

Yep, having error about not having LE i WantWidgets installed while on SE is normal, esp/esl names are different for LE and SE versions of iWW, so errors are inevitable, and normal.

 

I believe there were some major changes in LBS 3.40, so you better off disabling UD LBS patch esp.

With the beta version there may be some issues with crits pressed during smashing of special button, it always drains my stamina when i press the right magic or stamina key. For one thing i assume that pressing special key when you can crit doesn't fail the crit (it should not fail it). So i think the affected minigame was plug removal.

I will have to rework this. It is also possible for NPC to just walk away after dialogue ends, so when minigame starts, the npc can move quite some distance (or in worse scenario, leave the cell or enter some scene). Will have to add package that prevents NPC from doing anything when waiting for minigame. But my knowledge about NPC packages is very limited, so I will be glad for any help.

Should be fixed in last indev version. Its not really issue. It uses function for taking the form from esp. If the form doesn't exist, it will print the error which you see. But issue is that iWantWidget have different named esp for LE and SE (I have no idea why tho, probably issue on mod author part). So UD needs to check both LE and SE. It first check LE and then SE, so if you use SE, you will always get the message. I have fixed it for now by preventing the error message to be printed.

Most likely compatibility issue with new version of LBS. Its possible that there some functions are called in unsafe manner, causing UD to bet working as intended (like by calling lock function without some with time after). UD makes all lock/unlock functions blocking, so the thread just don't skip over while the device is still being equipped. There was before similar issue with the quest where you have to go to the cave close to riverwood. I'm quite sure this will be a similar issue. I didn't play the new version yet, so I might have to play it, and see what issue are there.

That should have been not possible before, but I was editing the script which handle this, so its possible I broke it. Will take a look.

I haven't seen issues with LBS in this playthrough on beta version, just when i got to the last sections where petsuit was equipped i was left standing. I tried "struggle pointlessly" but it was still standing instead of even struggle animation. After saving and loading game it found the right pose.

 

Oh the "Tough leather harness ballgag" didn't come off by Laura's script and seems to include timelock. For quest spoiler this is at:

Hm, I didn't implement the link between previous itmelock implementation, and current UD temilocks. WIll have to adjust patcher.

I think it's a different matter, that gag is a quest item impossible to unlock without Laura's key that player can't obtain without console. That shouldn't be patched to UD in the LBS addon. Same with petsuit.

Most likely compatibility issue with new version of LBS. Its possible that there some functions are called in unsafe manner, causing UD to bet working as intended (like by calling lock function without some with time after). UD makes all lock/unlock functions blocking, so the thread just don't skip over while the device is still being equipped. There was before similar issue with the quest where you have to go to the cave close to riverwood. I'm quite sure this will be a similar issue. I didn't play the new version yet, so I might have to play it, and see what issue are there.

Again, it might have been something on my side. I was thinking of UD because besides DD itself I did not have anything else touching the "vanilla" devices. If you want I can test more and report back!

In that case, that is still strange. Having devices, which can't be removed by the player, is ok. But if it can't be removed with script, there is something wrong.

Can you tell me what is the exact name of the script? I will take a look at the script.

So far not problem seen running with Beta 11, if you encounter any - please report them to us. Our goal is to make sure UD is all nice, compatible  and glitch-free when DD5.2 released.

When I try to unlock any item, I get a message saying "You are already doing something" but as far as I can tell I am not doing anything.

 

Is there a way to reset that condition so that I can unlock items?

 

EDIT: The problem went away after saving, exiting the game, restarting the game, and loading the save.

i think this is from this mod. the manifest item on female spell will break devices. i wont be able to put them on my character later. its there a debug fix for this in the mcm somewhere?

I don't quite understand what you mean by this, but way to fix is present - in the MCM menu, Debug, Fixes.

when i click on a devious item in my menu, it wont lock it on and it also doesnt appear on my character, even though in my item menu it says i have it on. it equips like a normal item but doesnt show up. only happens when i use the manifest item spell on someone

i thought this one because this mod has that weapon enchantment that adds hand restraints on hit

It's not spell, it's enchantment on Abadon Weapons (dagger and swords). It's 25% chance. Also I confirmed it works correctly, no devices broken, all added as they should by these weapons.

They are patched so they are more compatible. They should work as intended -> not being able to be struggled from. If you can escape from them , it means I did some mistake in patch. I have already fixed issu which was causing locks on the non-lockable locks to be lockable (which is probably source of your issue).

This can be either cause because you are in animation (maybe it failed to be played, causing the player to be registered as animating, but not animating) or the minigame didn't end as expected. I think it's the first option, as every time player load the game, DD will call StopAnimation. Or maybe another mod is doing it.

Check if you have no mod which might overwritte the patch. Like the Devious Lore patch or baka patch
