Maybe try setting the leader before applying any mono gender stuff for the species. It might work for the first leader you have, until they die. Other than that, you'd have to code in some conditions yourself.

Thank you very much. I don't think of it as ceasing development so much as VF is now open source. Goregath has been developing a very cool tool for automating the portrait files, so I think it'll become easier for people to pick up VF and make their own versions.

Sadly that doesnt work. Ah well, time to do some digging myself.

Be really neat if there was an easy to use tool to make portrait packs. Just cut out the pics, insert em into the tool, and Wallah! portrait pack lol. 

Hell at that point it would be so easy to condense all the portrait packs here on LL into one massive mega portrait pack.

Honestly, that's basically what Goregath is making, image names just need to conform to VF's format (i.e. 01HumF1). 

 

A mega pack sounds interesting, but that's gonna be like gigs of just images (think of the load times!) and idk how many of those would be duplicates between the original mods.

Anyway.. yes.. That does sound pretty neat, haven't seen Goregath's project around or is it not.. well.. out yet? Like in post form or something? .3.

Also, back to the original evil laughter. I might put together the megapack myself if that tool is that easy to use... keyword being might.. laziness is a helluva de-motivator.

Yes, it removes as much vanilla portraits as possible and that includes the premade empires. You can add them all back in by deleting most files in the prescripted_countries folder.

Someone ping me if they actually manage to sort the new mechanoid folder, I tried and it is an absolute nightmare that is way over my ability And it is an absolute bummer cause I really was waiting for the mechanoid rework.

Edit: After my third try which failed completely again I will no longer attempt any further. But I have composed a list of what things need to be done for the thing to work:

1. Some files are still uncropped and not converted to DDS but it can be skipped because the amount of non-converted files is trivial
2. The "Unsorted" contains images that should be taken to their respective folders or taken to new separate portrait groups. This is not hard at first glance but some of these portraits are difficult to identify to what group they belong to or barely count as androids in my book. Again, by the rule of thumb one does not need to do that and just stick to the the portait groups that have >10 images

3. The only thing that MUST be done is to resize all the portraits to around 500x320 and make them fit in the UI. Some are already in the proper size but only maybe 25%. I cannot stress enough how difficult it is either by hand or in batch so good luck with that

Edit 2: here is my version VF with all that was already done by Mugginnato combined with the image sets from Kroeger incarnated's Lewd Galaxy using Goregath's Species_Classes and Portraits text file generator. I mostly did this for all of you who wanted at least some Mechanoid update. WARNING: Portraits may repeat across certain portrait sets and i unfortunately don't have time or will to do it.


Edit 3: for some reason there are duplicate selections in the species creation, i have no idea how to fix that
Edit 4: Guess what, fixed it. It was really easy to fix too :facepalm:

For those wondering, the best solution I found was just firing every leader of one gender, and then setting leadership roles to only the opposite - its a bit of a work-around, but its servicable

Is there any simple thing (like remove the kemonomimi) that can be done to this mod so it doesn't change the checksum? 

I would like to play for achievements, but I don't want to go back to the regular portraits.

That's odd. It works just fine for me, both Lustful Void and Vanilla Framework run just fine on my end on 3.9.

I can get LV to work, but no Vanilla Framework or Calcifire's portrait pack. Mods that mess with vanilla portraits seem to be having problems

Well little web site lurker here just chime in to this.

 

Lust void 3.8 and Vanilla framework.  Works for me

 

LV & VF and Calcifires Portrait Pack DIRECTORS CUT crashed game before 100% load.

 

SO Calcifires Portrait Pack DIRECTORS CUT might be the culprit but most bigger or updates always needed updated Calcifires Portrait Pack DIRECTORS CUT.

There may be a problem with Calcifires *in addition to* to the problem with VF, but VF 1000% has a problem.

 

I verified my stellaris game, and redownloaded VF to be sure, and it crashes on me 100% of loads with VF and no other mods in the load order.

I had a quick (and I do mean quick) look at the files to see what was updated. There are a few changes, some a bit odd, but I think this might fix crashing. It's just updating the system initializers and adding the new prescripted humanoid empires. It should stop crashing because the game isn't looking for the missing/banned vanilla assets. I also saw that a bunch of event files got updated, but that could take quite a while to sift through. For now, you can just extract this zip into your mod folder and confirm the overwrites.

I was crashing and this hotfix didn't help. But then I did a clean install of the latest VF and it doesn't crash anymore, even without the hotfix.

 

I'm not modder so I have no idea why this is, but I figured I'd put the information out there in case it helps someone figure out what's up.

Same here, I'm running 47 mods and after a lot of trial and error found it was only VF that was causing it to crash. Applying the hotfix didn't change that, but doing a fresh re-install of VF 2.0.5d somehow did the job!

 

Incidentally, I also tried replacing VF with the mod Ero species merged, which also didn't crash, but did result in all of the planets being called "NAME_Planet_"etc which I assume must be a problem with one or more of the name_list files in that mod?  Is there an easy fix for that, as I've seen similar happen before with an out of date mod?

Thanks! That's doing the trick.

 

Though three of the Mammalian species show no pictures and are displayed as empty. I confirmed that this is not a mod conflict by loading a playset with nothing but Vanilla Framework enabled.

Simple fix. Put this into your "Vanilla Framework > gfx > portraits > portraits folder"
This will replace the one already there.

The problem is that there is an error on line 203:
    13MamH11 13MamH12 = { greeting_sound = "mammalian_01_greetings" texturefile = "gfx/models/Mammalian/Mam13/13MamH11 13MamH12.dds" }

The correction I made is:
    13MamH11 = { greeting_sound = "mammalian_01_greetings" texturefile = "gfx/models/Mammalian/Mam13/13MamH11.dds" }
